My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate Chapter 353
Logan's POV
I couldn’t hide the grin stretched across my face as I walked back into the garden, my mate clinging to my arm. The joy I felt wasn’t something I could mask—it radiated from every pore, completely unfiltered. Tonight had already surpassed anything I’d dared to imagine, and we weren’t even halfway through it.
I’d always known that my brother and I would one day have to go through a mating ceremony. As Alphas of a powerful and respected pack, choosing a Luna was inevitable—a duty we were bound to fulfill. Still, I’d resigned myself to the idea that we’d end up with chosen mates, bonded more by obligation than love. Never, not in a thousand lifetimes, did I expect someone like Dahlia Sterling to sweep into my world and dismantle every assumption I’d built my future on. And yet, here we were—and Goddess, I was endlessly thankful she did.
What I felt now was pure, unfiltered joy—and yes, an ever-present desire for my irresistibly beautiful mate, but that had become a permanent fixture in my life since the moment she arrived. This happiness though? This depth of contentment? It was unlike anything I’d ever known. And I wasn’t the only one basking in it. I could sense it rolling off Liam, his emotions echoing mine, confirming that he felt it too.
Of course, we’d both been ecstatic from the moment we recognized Lia as our mate. But that joy had always been tempered—tainted by uncertainty. Her hesitation, mixed with the gnawing doubts I carried about my own worth, had cast shadows over what should have been a clear path to happiness. But now? Now we were marked, bound, mated—and nothing and no one was going to steal that from us.
Not bitter enemies. Not schemers who wanted to see us fail. Not even the Dark Fae.
“Um, before we go in, I need to tell you something,” Lia said, bringing us to a stop just before we rejoined the celebration.
My heart ticked a little faster. “What is it, baby girl?” I asked, a wary edge creeping into my voice. Her nervous demeanor sent a ripple of dread through me.
“First, promise me you won’t overreact.” She spoke softly, her lashes lowered as she peeked up at us, clearly bracing herself. My palms started to sweat.
Liam let out a dry, humorless snort. “If you’re worried about our reaction, then I already know it’s not going to be good. Just tell us, Lia. Whatever it is—we’ll deal with it together.”
She nodded, then exhaled shakily. “Okay. Finnian came to my room right before the ceremony. I only opened the door because I thought it was your mother, but… he forced his way inside. He tried to convince me to leave you—said he wanted another chance.”
Twin growls burst from our throats, but she forged ahead.
“Of course, I refused. That made him angry. He lunged at me—canines out. I think… I think he was going to try to mark me by force, but I can’t be sure.”
A violent rage surged through me.
“I’m going to fucking destroy him!” I snarled. My wolf clawed at the surface, filled with bloodlust. No one threatened what was mine and lived to talk about it.
“Where the fuck is he?” Liam’s voice boomed beside me. His wolf, Ghost, was just as close to breaking free.
“Yeah… about that,” Lia said, looking up at us through her lashes again. “I might have—uh—used my powers to tear up the wood floor and trap him in a makeshift cage. I didn’t want him to ruin our night. So, I had Nikolai intercept you and Bastian took care of Finnian. I don’t know what he did with him.”
I could see Liam’s eyes glaze over as he linked Bastian. My heart hammered as I pulled Lia into my arms, the tremble in my body betraying how shaken I truly was. The thought of losing her—again—was unbearable.
“I’m so damn proud of you, baby girl,” I whispered. “You’re incredible.”
She beamed up at me, though I wasn’t sure if my words pleased her or if she was just relieved I wasn’t livid.
“Bastian says Alpha Blackwell’s cooling off in a cell,” Liam said at last, smirking. “I say we enjoy the rest of tonight. We can deal with him tomorrow. He’ll survive.”
“What are you going to do to him?” Lia asked, worry pinching her features. I hated the concern in her eyes but reminded myself of her gentle heart—she didn’t want anyone to suffer, even those who tried to hurt her.
“Nothing, Angel,” Liam said calmly. “We’ll just make sure he understands what’ll happen if he ever tries to come near you again.”
“And maybe let his Luna know why he didn’t make it home tonight,” I added with a wicked grin. “That should keep him busy.”
The roar of cheers greeted our return as we stepped into the garden. Pride surged through me as I glanced down at the radiant woman on my arm. She outshone everyone in the room, and it was all I could do not to shout my gratitude to the stars that she was mine.
But, unsurprisingly, she was quickly swept away by well-wishers. Liam and I stuck close, keeping a watchful eye as guest after guest came to pay respects.
To my amazement, many of the surrounding Alphas had shown up despite the short notice. Even some of our more distant allies were present. They queued eagerly to greet our Luna, offering smiles and warm words.
I had to stifle a chuckle as I recalled her blunt critique of some of these same Alphas during their last visit. “Misogynistic windbags,” I think she’d called them. Yet tonight, she was the epitome of grace—charming and welcoming to each of them, despite her obvious distaste.
Then a familiar scent drifted to me, and I clenched my jaw.
Faelan.
Liam let out a low growl as he spotted him too, clearly no happier about his arrival. I reminded myself—she was marked. She was ours. No one could change that.
“Faelan!” Lia called out, her face lighting up with joy. I tensed at her reaction, but through our bond, I only sensed warmth—familial affection. I let out a slow breath.
“Luna Ashford,” Faelan greeted with mock formality, bowing playfully. They both laughed.
“I’m so glad you made it,” Lia said sincerely. “And who’s your date?”
That’s when I saw her—tucked shyly behind him, his fingers laced through hers. He pulled her to his side with a protective arm.
“Lia, meet my mate, Mireille.”
My jaw hit the floor. Fast-moving bastard.
Lia squealed and hugged the girl tightly. Mireille looked dazed, possibly overwhelmed by Lia’s enthusiasm, but she quickly smiled back at her.
“I’m so happy for you both,” Lia said, her joy radiating.
“Me too,” Faelan replied, eyes locked adoringly on his mate. “Now if you’ll excuse us, I owe my girl a dance.”
“Of course! Have fun!” Lia waved them off with a grin. “Mireille, we’ll catch up later. I’d love to get to know you better.”
As they disappeared toward the dance floor, I felt Liam finally relax.
But peace was short-lived.
“Lia Bee!” a booming voice shouted, and I instantly went rigid. Silas. He was charging straight for her, arms outstretched.
Before he could touch her, Liam stepped forward and growled possessively, shielding her behind him. “Mine.”
Silas halted in his tracks.
Lia, of course, wasn’t having it. She slipped between us and grabbed Silas’s arm with a huff. “Behave! He’s an old friend, and it’s your marks on my neck, remember?”
Suitably chastised, we stepped aside—though not without reluctant glares.
Thankfully, we didn’t have to tolerate him long. Her best friend, Isolde, flung herself at Lia, knocking Silas out of the way.
“Back off, Silas! My turn!” she declared, pulling Lia into a tight hug.
The two girls swayed side to side, giggling. It warmed my heart to see Lia so happy. I wished they could see each other more often.
After Isolde left with a promise to catch up soon, Bastian approached.
“Luna,” he greeted, bowing his head.
“Oh, stop that. Use my name,” Lia said, swatting his arm.
“Congratulations, Alphas,” he added with a rare smile before excusing himself. There was a look exchanged between him and Lia that I couldn’t quite place, but I let it go.
Once he disappeared, we made our way to the dance floor. Liam cut in on both Dads to dance with Mom, leaving me to finally hold our Luna close. Then we swapped—me with Mom, Liam with Lia. Eventually, even her father joined in, and the dance floor buzzed with movement.
Above us, the moon glowed, stars scattered like diamonds across the sky. A cool breeze drifted through the garden. It was perfect. And tonight, for the first time in what felt like forever—we were at peace. Happy. Complete.
