My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate Chapter 324

Faelan’s POV

One of my pack members, Calliope Halloway, had recently returned to my territory after spending some time abroad. It was standard protocol to debrief any wolf who’d been away for more than a month or two, just to ensure there were no security risks or hidden issues.

Calliope had been back for a bit, but I hadn’t had the chance to meet with her. Things had been hectic, and while I wasn’t particularly concerned—she’d left for personal reasons, nothing suspicious—I still had to follow through.

That evening, I was heading home after checking in on a minor disturbance near the southern border when I figured I’d swing by her place. It wasn’t planned, but I thought I might as well see if she had time to talk. Her new place was this cozy little cottage on the edge of town. After staying with some friends for a while, she’d finally settled in there. She lived alone and generally kept to herself, so I figured she wouldn’t mind an unexpected visit.

I pulled into the drive and jogged up to the door, ringing the bell.

From inside, I heard an unfamiliar, melodic voice call out, “I’ll get it!”

At the sound, my wolf stirred.

I didn’t have long to wonder who it could be. The door opened to reveal a young she-wolf, probably no older than twenty-two, standing in front of me, her wide blue eyes locking onto mine. She must have just come from the shower; her damp blond curls clung to her skin, trailing water down her back. Even wet, her hair looked soft and wild.

Her gaze was bold, unflinching, and full of curiosity. Her lips—plump and pink—were curved in a half-smile, like I’d interrupted a pleasant thought. She didn’t look away.

And I didn’t either.

I took her in: the worn, familiar clothes that clung to her body like a second skin, clearly favored for comfort but unintentionally revealing. Her shirt was so thin I could see the outline of her full breasts beneath it. Her shorts—cut-off sweats by the look of them—barely covered the tops of her thighs, showing off long, toned legs.

Still, she said nothing. Just stood there, openly looking at me.

I let a slow, knowing smirk curve my mouth and offered my hand.

“Hello. I’m Alpha Faelan. And you are?”

She took my hand without hesitation. “Dahlia. I’m guessing you’re here to see my aunt? Come in.”

So she was Calliope’s niece. Interesting.

“Thank you,” I said as she stepped aside.

As I entered, questions already swirled in my head. How long had she been here? Had she just arrived, or had I been oblivious to her presence this entire time? More importantly, how long was she planning to stay?

“Have a seat,” she gestured toward the sofa, and then without warning, she turned and shouted down the hall, “Aunt Calliope! Your Alpha’s here!”

Just like that, she turned and walked off as if we hadn’t just shared that charged moment at the door. Like she hadn’t been staring at me—or I at her—only seconds ago. My wolf growled with interest. She wasn’t our mate, but he didn’t care. He liked her.

Moments later, I heard her voice again, but this time she wasn’t talking to us.

It was a phone call. One-sided, so I assumed the other person was on the line. I didn’t even try not to listen. These walls weren’t built for privacy, and any wolf in the house could hear every word.

“I’m sorry, Isolde. I didn’t mean to worry you.” Her tone softened. “It’s complicated, and I’m not ready to talk about it yet, but when I am, you’ll be the first person I call. Are you sure you’re okay? You sound... I don’t know, off. Okay. If you’re sure. But you know you can tell me anything. I could actually use the distraction. Love you too, girl. Talk soon.”

I wondered what kind of distraction she needed—and found myself oddly eager to volunteer.

Not a minute later, she made another call, this time to someone named Silas. This conversation was far more intense.

“I left them. Okay, Silas? Is that what you wanted me to say?” Her voice cracked under the weight of unspoken emotion, and something inside me tensed.

I didn’t even know her, but the sound of her near tears made my fists clench. Made me want to track down this Silas and remind him what it meant to hurt someone like her.

What the hell was wrong with me?

“Alpha Faelan!” Calliope’s voice broke into my thoughts. She emerged from a hallway, drying her hair with a towel. “I wasn’t expecting you tonight.”

I forced a polite smile, even as I cursed her timing in my head.

“My apologies for the surprise visit,” I said. “I thought we might get your return interview out of the way tonight.”

She nodded. “Of course, that’s fine.”

A door slammed. Dahlia appeared again, storming down the hallway and into the kitchen, a cute little scowl marring her pretty face.

“I’m opening a bottle of wine,” she called over her shoulder. “Anyone want to join me?”

I glanced at Calliope, and she gave me a smile.

“Bring us two glasses, Lia!”

Dahlia soon returned with a bottle, corkscrew, and three glasses balanced effortlessly in her hands. I watched every movement as she struggled with the cork, her features flickering between annoyance and focus. Her breasts bounced lightly with the effort, and I had to remind myself to look away.

Once the bottle was open, she poured us each a glass and sank into the chair across from me, legs tucked beneath her, wine glass in hand. She didn’t speak—just blended into the room like she belonged there.

My wolf was already a fool for her, rolling over and panting like she was the moon itself.

And me? I knew one thing for certain.

I’d be spending a lot more time getting to know Calliope Halloway... and her captivating niece.
