My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate Chapter 308

Dahlia’s POV

The twins each hooked an arm through mine, escorting me out onto the patio with such closeness that I genuinely worried they might trip over my dress. As we stepped through the back door, the sight that greeted us was already alive with energy—a crowd of guests mingling across the stone-paved area, with tables scattered all the way onto the soft stretch of grass. Gentle music drifted from hidden speakers, weaving through the hum of conversation.

As we moved between tight clusters of guests, a hush seemed to ripple through the crowd. My mates stopped often, pausing to introduce me to various high-ranking wolves from other packs. I smiled politely, nodded when appropriate, but I knew there was no way I’d remember all those names. I was going to need a cheat sheet just to keep them straight.

Most of the faces we encountered were warm and congratulatory, quick to offer kind words about our mate bond. But a few unmated she-wolves made no effort to hide their disdain, completely ignoring my presence—until Logan or Liam would deliberately introduce me, forcing their polite acknowledgment. A handful of others shot me dirty looks I chose to pretend not to see. Whatever history they shared with my mates, it belonged to the past. I refused to carry it forward.

The male guests, however, were a different breed entirely. I’m not sure what I expected—Logan had described them as “boring” and “stuffy,” so I’d imagined a room full of arrogant, self-important men with more ego than charm. But these wolves? They didn’t fit that mold at all.

Even without any emotional pull toward them, it was impossible to miss the raw appeal. Sculpted, strong, and confident—many of them were undeniably attractive. And judging by the hungry stares thrown my way, the feeling wasn’t one-sided. A few of them openly gawked, their gazes lingering too long, and I caught the tension in my mates’ posture. Their wolves were fighting for control, evident in the sudden glint of silver in their eyes.

One man, in particular, held my attention longer than I intended. Thane Vexley. He was introduced as the Beta of the Black Blade pack. His hair was a striking mix of copper and blond, his eyes a deep, cloudless blue. His skin held a golden hue, the kind only earned from hours in the sun. He stood tall—well over six feet—and his solid frame promised warmth and protection. No mate mark was visible, but whoever ended up with him would be lucky beyond belief.

Black Blade bordered Crystal Moon, but I’d never visited their territory. I remembered stories as a child about kids with friends from that pack, but I’d never actually met anyone from there. Still, Thane’s name stirred something familiar in me, though I couldn’t pinpoint why. Lost in that puzzle, I hadn’t realized I was staring until Liam’s voice brought me back.

“Would you like a glass of wine, love?” he asked, his eyes scanning my face with concern.

Only then did I notice the waiter beside me, arm extended, patiently holding out a glass. I accepted it quickly, realizing everyone else already had theirs. Out of reflex, I glanced back toward Thane—and sure enough, he was smirking. He definitely thought I’d been checking him out. Hell, maybe I had.

“If you’ll excuse us, gentlemen,” Logan said, his voice taking on a possessive edge, “I think it’s time we fed our Luna.” Without waiting for a response, he guided me away.

His grip was firmer than usual, and when I looked up, his eyes were still swirling with silver. His wolf—Fang—was too close to the surface.

“Fang, calm down. Let Logan take over,” Liam muttered low enough for me, but loud enough that any nearby wolves would hear. Their bond was so in sync it didn’t surprise me that he noticed the shift. Logan’s grip eased slightly, but the silver didn’t completely fade.

“Is there something you want to tell us, little mate?” Logan’s voice deepened, thick with the edge of his wolf. “Do you want the Black Blade Beta?”

“What? No! Of course not!” I whispered harshly. I stepped in front of him, placing both hands on his chest and locking eyes with him. “I wasn’t even aware I was staring. I got lost in my thoughts. I remembered the name from somewhere, probably from when I was a kid. That’s all—I was just trying to place it.”

The silver ebbed away, replaced by the warm hazel of Logan’s eyes. He pressed his forehead to mine, exhaling a low apology.

“Sorry, baby girl. Fang pushed through the second we saw you looking at him. I tried to hold him back.”

“It’s okay. I get it. But you have to trust me, my big bad wolf,” I murmured, speaking to Fang directly.

His chest rumbled at the nickname, and I giggled. Liam shook his head and looped his arm through mine again.

“Come on. Let’s get you something to eat,” he said, steering us toward the buffet.

Within minutes, they’d stacked three plates full of food and brought them to our table. While they dug in as if it were their last meal, I hesitated.

“I don’t think I can eat,” I said, glancing down at my dress. “I’m wearing white. What if I spill something?”

They both laughed at that.

“Come here, little wolf,” Liam said, tugging me into his lap. I immediately tried to squirm free, my cheeks burning, but he held me there, calm and steady.

“Let me feed you. I won’t let anything touch that dress. Besides, it’s a symbol of our bond—mates feeding one another. Our guests will see it as an honor.”

I raised an eyebrow but didn’t protest. When he lifted the fork to my lips, I took a bite. Before I could even finish chewing, Logan was offering a spoonful of creamy mac and cheese. I wanted to tell them to slow down, but it was all too delicious to refuse.

Even after I told them I was full, they kept feeding me. It took multiple protests and finally turning my head away like a stubborn child before they gave up.

What was it with wolves and their obsession with feeding me? I looked around more than once, expecting judgmental stares—but all I saw were nods of approval. Apparently, this was normal? How had I missed that memo?

Then I caught a scent in the air—familiar, warm, grounding. I turned instinctively, just as he reached my side.

“Daddy!” I cried, launching myself into his arms. He caught me with a laugh, wrapping me up in one of his signature bear hugs.

“My beautiful daughter. I’ve missed you!” His voice boomed with love.

“I thought you couldn’t make it,” I said, confused. He’d told me he wouldn’t be here today, though he promised to attend the mating ceremony. I had accepted that.

“The boys wanted to surprise you,” he replied, gesturing toward Logan and Liam.

They both rose to their feet, wrapping their arms around me from either side.

“Good surprise?” Liam asked, looking down at me with a grin.

I nodded, blinking back tears, determined not to let them ruin my makeup.
