My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate Chapter 305
Logan’s POV
How the hell did I end up in this mess? You’d think by now I’d have learned to keep my damn mouth shut. But no—every time I open it, I manage to say something that comes right back to bite me in the ass.
I let out a low groan as my mother slid yet another magazine filled with suit options across the table toward me. Just a couple of hours ago, I’d been in heaven—my girl wrapped around me, her body clinging to mine like she was made for me—and now, I was in the deepest pits of party planning hell. How did my day spiral so fast?
Lia had followed through with her threat to drag me into this meeting with my mom. For the past hour, we’d done nothing but flip through suit and tie selections for me and my brother. I couldn’t care less what we wore to the mating ceremony—as long as my mate was marked and ours by the end of it, they could dress me in a damn potato sack. Not that I’d dare say that aloud. I might have a death wish, but I wasn’t suicidal.
Lia, of course, found my suffering absolutely hilarious. Every time I threw a pleading glance her way, hoping she’d rescue me, she’d smirk and wink back. At one point, she even started quietly humming Suit & Tie by Justin Timberlake under her breath. My mom took it as enthusiasm. I knew better—it was her way of savoring my misery. She was going to pay for that later, and she knew it. That sexy little smirk of hers would be gone the moment I had her bent over with her ass in the air.
“Mom, I really think we need Liam here to help make this decision,” I said, attempting a weak deflection. “He should have a say in what we wear.”
Sure, he’d probably murder me later, but I was willing to take that risk if it meant getting out of this circus.
“You’re right, sweetheart,” Mom said, clearly delighted. “That’s very thoughtful of you. Maybe he can join us for the cake tasting, and we’ll ask him then. Now, let’s move on to centerpieces! Oh—and the guest gifts!”
Guest gifts? Seriously? Who even cared what the damn tables looked like? By the time guests were sitting at them, the ceremony would be done and Liam and I would be focused on two things: feeding our Luna to make sure she had enough energy for the night ahead—and then getting her back to our room for a very personal celebration. And what was with this gift thing? Weren’t the guests supposed to bring us presents?
At least they made most of the decisions without me. My occasional grunts were interpreted as agreement, and I didn’t bother correcting them. If anyone asked me what we picked, I wouldn’t have a clue. Three hours in, my head was pounding and I was starting to understand why Lia had been so wiped yesterday.
Just when I was about to fake a sudden emergency—anything to get out of this—Naia and a group of omegas appeared, loading the patio tables with food and cakes. Finally, something worth sticking around for.
“Logan, tell your brother to come by for the tasting,” Mom said, already turning back to debate with Lia over DJs and live bands. “He’ll want to help choose the menu and the cake flavors.”
Yeah, Liam would want in on this part. Hell, he might even enjoy all this planning crap more than I did.
"Hey, Liam. You free?" I reached out to him through the link.
"I’ve got a little time. How’s it going over there?" he asked, voice laced with amusement.
"Take a wild guess," I snapped.
"Just get over here. They want you here for food and cake tasting."
"Now that I can get behind. Be there soon." He practically sang the words into the link.
"Don’t act like you wouldn’t love to be in my shoes. I still can’t believe you didn’t offer to come with Lia instead of me."
"I considered it," he laughed, "but then I realized watching you suffer would be way more entertaining." With that, he cut the link.
For a moment, I seriously questioned the perks of having a twin.
The food, as always, was incredible. Naia and her team never missed. Honestly, I enjoyed that part of the day. I didn’t have to make any decisions—their control-freak minds had it all covered. I wasn’t even sure how much of the menu Lia had picked, but she looked thrilled with it, so I figured it was fine.
Now, when it came to the cake, I actually had an opinion. I’ve got a thing for sweets—and more than that, the idea of feeding my mate a bite of cake, and her doing the same for me? Yeah, that was a moment I was looking forward to. I wanted it to be perfect.
All the flavors were great, but in the end, I pushed for the dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, raspberry filling, and dark chocolate buttercream icing. The way her eyes lit up and that little appreciative hum escaped her lips when she tasted it? I knew I’d made the right call.
After stuffing ourselves with food and sugar, we were all in a bit of a food coma. I remembered Liam and I had a late meeting today, but I was hoping to steal a few quiet minutes with Lia first. Just when I thought we could sneak away, Mom hit us with more plans.
“Oh, by the way,” she said casually, “I’ve arranged a small get-together this weekend. Make sure your calendars are clear.”
Liam and I exchanged a look. Small was not a word our mother understood.
“What kind of get-together, Mother?” Liam asked, voice formal—like he was speaking to royalty. Honestly, he kind of was. Around here, Mom’s word was law.
“Just a little meet-and-greet,” she said. “A few Alphas, Lunas, and ranked members from our allied packs. It’s time they start getting to know your Luna, and this will be more relaxed than the ceremony night.”
“As long as we don’t have to plan this one, I’m all for it,” I said, trying to sound enthusiastic. I hated these formal, exclusive events—but having Lia by my side would make it worth it. Liam nodded, silently agreeing.
Then, Lia let out a soft yawn, trying—and failing—to hide it.
Yes! Nap time!
“We’re going to have to steal our mate now, Mom,” I said, not wasting the opportunity. “She’s clearly exhausted, and with all the excitement coming up, she needs her rest.”
“Of course,” Mom replied, giving me a look that said she didn’t believe we’d be doing anything close to resting.
She wasn’t wrong.
