"Well… um… I" her voice cracked, and she dropped her gaze, twisting her hands nervously in her lap.

"You can tell us anything, Angel," Liam said gently, guiding her chin up so she was looking directly into his eyes. The sincerity in his voice left no room for doubt.

"You’ll always be safe with us, baby girl. No matter what it is," I promised, my hand drawing slow, calming circles along her back.

"I know," she whispered, her voice soft but steady. Still, the words she needed to say stayed locked behind her lips.

"We’re waiting, love," I nudged her gently. "And we’re not stepping out of this room until you tell us what’s weighing on you."

Her fingers fidgeted in her lap, twisting and untwisting. "It’s just a question, really. About the mating part..." she trailed off, her voice quiet and uncertain. "I was just wondering well, you know I don’t have any actual experience with that."

She stumbled over her words, rambling, and it took every ounce of self-control not to let the faintest smile tug at my lips. I knew the second she saw even a hint of amusement, she’d shut down. My wolf was already purring, pleased beyond measure at the reminder that she belonged to no one else untouched, unclaimed, except by us.

When neither Liam nor I said a word, only waiting patiently for her to finish, she exhaled sharply, her frustration clear.

"It’s just... I know mates, especially Alpha mates, are usually very... active, in that department. And since I have nothing to compare it to, I was just wondering what would be expected of me," she finished, her voice finally carrying a note of boldness.

A low, frustrated grunt rumbled out of me before I could stop it. Did she honestly think we’d ever see her as some sort of obligation? As if her worth was measured by how well she could please us in bed? The thought alone made my blood boil.

"We expect you in our bed every single night," I told her, my voice sharp at first, before lowering into something deep and deliberate. I leaned in, letting my lips brush just short of hers. "Ready and desperate to be taken by us, over and over again. Not because it’s demanded. Not because it’s expected. But because you want to. Because your body will ache for us and it will for the pleasure only we can give you. That’s the only reason that matters."

"All we’ll ever ask of you is your happiness, Angel," Liam added, his voice full of quiet devotion. "That’s why the Moon Goddess made us. It’s why we exist. To love you. To protect you. To make you happy. Wanting anything else would go against everything we are."

"Besides," I added, this time allowing a slow, knowing smirk, "the Moon Goddess doesn’t make mistakes. We were made for each other, and if our chemistry so far is anything to go by, I think it’s safe to say we’ll be more than compatible."

I felt her body slowly relax against mine, the tension easing from her shoulders as she absorbed every word. My wolf settled too, until her gaze lifted and met ours, sparking with a new fire.

"One more thing," she said, her voice firm and unyielding. "I won’t share. I’m accepting this bond on one condition there will be no other women. Not ever."

The challenge in her eyes was unmistakable, daring us to say otherwise. And damn if her jealousy didn’t send a sharp thrill right through me. She didn’t even realize the power she held over me, over both of us.

"Believe me, baby girl," I murmured, brushing a hand down her cheek. "There’s never been another for me. Not since the moment I laid eyes on you. There never will be."

Even if she walked away, she’d still own me. I would spend the rest of my days haunting the shadows, watching over her, making sure she was safe and loved, even from afar. I was hers, whether she wanted me or not.

"I’ve waited my entire life for you," Liam confessed quietly. "You are everything I ever wanted. My one and only."

I stood, guiding her gently to her feet. "Let’s go, baby girl," I whispered, flashing her a wink. "We need to get you fed. You’ll need all the strength you can get tonight."

Dinner was brief but perfect in its simplicity. Even though the only people at the table were our parents, there was something deeply satisfying about walking in with our arms wrapped around her, our bond no longer a hidden secret. Liam opened the family link long enough to warn them not to drown her in questions though knowing our mother, I half-expected her to launch an interrogation that would make the Spanish Inquisition look like a casual chat.

Halfway through the meal, I noticed her plate was barely touched. I didn’t even need to link Liam one look at her untouched food, and he was already moving.

Without a word, he slid her onto his lap and began feeding her himself, every bite slow and coaxing. Her cheeks burned with embarrassment, especially under the gaze of our parents, but she didn’t protest. If anything, she let him. Next time, I might just beat him to it.

Not long after she finished eating, a soft yawn slipped past her lips. Whether she was genuinely exhausted or simply searching for an escape before Mom found another excuse to prolong the conversation, I didn’t care. I was ready to take her upstairs the second she excused herself.

She kissed both our mothers and fathers on the cheek, her goodnight sweet but swift. Liam and I both pushed back from the table, prepared to follow, when Dad Caden’s voice stopped us.

"Boys, can you stay back for a moment? There’s something I need to discuss."

Fang growled inside my head, his agitation sharp at the idea of being kept away from our mate, but I held him at bay. When Dad asked, it wasn’t really a request.

"Of course, Dad," Liam answered, though the way his hand opened and closed restlessly told me he was barely keeping Ghost in check either. "What’s going on?"

Dad Caden hesitated for a second, his gaze flicking to Dad Caleb, who stepped in with a sheepish smile.

"Actually, it’s your mother who wants to talk to you." He looked genuinely apologetic, as though he knew exactly how unwelcome this conversation would be. And he was right.

Thirty agonizing minutes later, we were finally free, climbing the stairs with one thing on our minds: claiming our mate.

"Nothing kills the mood quite like one of Mom’s lectures on mate etiquette," Liam muttered under his breath, shaking his head.

"Not even that could ruin tonight for me," I replied, my excitement bubbling over in every word.

His grin returned, just as fierce. "Yeah. You’re right."

We raced to her door, both of us reaching for the handle at the same time, but I was pretty sure I got there first. Not that it mattered, because the moment the door swung open, whatever anticipation we’d felt evaporated, replaced by something that stole the air right out of my lungs.

I couldn’t breathe.

Not. Fucking. Breathe.
