Logan's POV

A sharp wave of panic surged through me as we stood there, waiting for Lia to give her answer but the moment her voice broke the silence, her words wrapped around my chest like a soothing balm, easing the tension that had taken hold.

"Yes, I’m sure," she said, her lips parting into a wide, genuine smile. "I’ve had to face some hard truths today. And I can’t sit here and pretend all my issues have magically disappeared, because they haven’t. But I can promise you this I’m done using them as an excuse to push you away. I want to face them with you, not alone. I’m all in. I we, Blue and I, are yours. If you’ll still have us."

Her voice hadn’t even finished the last word before Liam’s arms were already wrapping around her, pulling her into his chest as if afraid she might vanish the second he let go. I stepped in behind her, sliding my arms firmly around her waist, burying my face into the crook of her neck, and drawing in deep, greedy breaths of her intoxicating scent.

The feel of her soft, warm, pressed tight against me paired with the overwhelming scent of our mate had my body reacting on instinct, my jeans growing painfully tight as desire coiled low in my stomach. But now wasn’t the time. There would be time for that later. Right now, I just needed her close. I needed to hold her. To convince every corner of my being that she was really here, and she was really ours.

As if the security of my arms around her finally gave Liam permission to loosen his own hold, he reluctantly let her go, only far enough to cradle her face in his hands and tilt her mouth up to meet his. His lips claimed hers softly at first, delicate brushes and tender nips, testing the waters, tasting the truth of her words.

But the moment her lips responded, the kiss deepened, shifting from gentle to desperate their tongues tangling in a rhythm born of raw hunger, their muffled moans spilling freely into each other. My hands wandered beneath her shirt, fingertips gliding along her silken skin in feather-light patterns, savoring the heat radiating off her. The sound of her breath hitching with every stroke was addictive.

When they finally broke for air, I didn’t waste a second. I turned her in my arms and caught her mouth with mine, the need to taste her eclipsing every rational thought. Unlike Liam’s initial tenderness, there was no patience left in me I claimed her bottom lip between my teeth, biting down hard enough to hear the soft sound of her gasp before I let it go.

And like the fiery, fearless creature she was, she didn’t hesitate to answer me back. A low growl rumbled from her chest, and then her mouth crashed into mine, all softness gone as her tongue demanded entrance. I welcomed her in, no resistance, but the second she tried to take control, the wolf in me snapped back, reclaiming dominance. My need to lead, to assert my hold on her, wasn’t about ego it was about protection. My wolf needed to anchor her to us, to feel her submission, to know she was safe.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Liam reluctantly pulling away, his lips still glistening from where he’d been trailing kisses along the curve of her neck, pausing at the spot where his mark would eventually lie. His sigh was heavy, strained, as he stepped back, and the shift in his energy was enough to pull Lia’s attention away from me.

"My mom keeps trying to link me," he muttered, frustration clouding his tone. "I’m sure she just wants us to join them for dinner, but she’s relentless. It’s making it hard to concentrate."

I exhaled, understanding his dilemma. As much as I wasn’t ready to share Lia with the world not even with our family ignoring my mother would only make things worse. If we didn’t come to her, she’d come looking for us.

"Sorry, love," I murmured, brushing a kiss against her temple. "Would you be okay joining us for dinner with our parents?"

"Of course," she answered, her voice bright with sincerity. But almost immediately her smile faltered. "But… can we hold off on any announcements? At least for tonight? I haven’t even told my father yet."

Before I could respond, Liam spoke up, his voice firm and possessive. "We don’t plan on sharing you with anyone else tonight, Angel. Dinner will be short. Just us, Mom, and our dads. After that, you’re all ours. We’ll eat upstairs in the Alpha’s private dining room."

The relief on her face was instant, her smile blooming once more as she nodded her approval.

"That sounds perfect," she whispered, though her tone shifted into something softer, more cautious. "Could we talk for a minute before we meet them? There are a few things I want to make sure we’re clear on."

"Of course, Angel," Liam answered without hesitation.

Honestly, at this point, she could’ve asked us to jump into a den of rogues and we both would’ve gone willingly if it meant putting that smile back on her face.

I guided her over to the couch and pulled her onto my lap, needing the feel of her there to soothe the storm still swirling inside me. Liam sat so close his leg pressed against mine, his body radiating the same tension I felt. I had no doubt Ghost was pacing just as furiously inside his head as Fang was inside mine.

"What’s on your mind, baby girl?" I asked, keeping my voice as even as I could, knowing full well she could sense the emotions I was trying to bury.

Her gaze shifted between us, hesitation flickering across her face before she spoke. "Well… first, I have some news."

She paused, watching us carefully, waiting for a reaction. When neither of us interrupted, she continued.

"My dad called today. He finally got in touch with my Aunt Calliope. She’s been staying at Midnight Moon with some friends, and she wants to meet with me. Said she might be able to help."

"That’s good news, isn’t it, Angel?" Liam asked, although her uncertainty had clearly thrown him off.

She hesitated, biting her lip. "Yeah, I think so. I’d love to see her. But… I’d like some time first. Just the three of us. Before I have to figure all that out. If that’s okay."

I tightened my hold on her, pressing a kiss to her hair. "It’s more than okay, little wolf. We’re not in any hurry to let you out of our sight."

"Logan’s right," Liam added, his voice low and certain. "And honestly, I doubt we’ll be comfortable with you being away from us even after we’re mated and marked but especially not before."

"Was that all you wanted to talk about?" I asked, though I could already see the tension creeping back into her posture.
