My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate Chapter 280
**Logan's POV**
“I, Dahlia Sterling, of the Crystal Moon Pack, accept you, Alpha Logan Ashford and Alpha Liam Ashford, of the Blood Moon Pack, as my Goddess-given mates,” Lia declared, stepping boldly into our office.
I had to be dreaming. Just moments ago, my brother and I were struggling to calm our wolves, hearts heavy with fear that our mate might slip away from us. And now, here she was, standing before us, proclaiming her acceptance of our bond.
It couldn’t be real. I had never done anything in my life to deserve such a beautiful gift. She was everything to me—the air that filled my lungs, the heartbeat that pulsed through my chest, the very reason I existed. And now, she had chosen us—forever.
Earlier, I had felt Liam’s distress, his pain sharp and unmistakable. I knew something was wrong, but rather than panic, I reminded myself that Liam had a flair for the dramatic. He was unpredictable, yes, but also predictable in his patterns. He had blocked me from his mind, but I knew where he'd retreat when he needed space. His office. I was waiting there when he walked in, his face grim, confirming my worst fears.
The moment he began to speak, outlining his conversation with Lia, I was already on my feet, without realizing I had moved. My body was moving toward the door, determined to find our mate and convince her to change her mind.
But Liam held me back.
And as much as I hated it, I knew he was right. We couldn’t force her. She had to be the one to lower the walls she had built to protect herself from the pain of her past. Until she chose to do that, until she fully surrendered to us, we would have to wait. My wolf and I would take any part of her she would give, but I loved her too much to rush her, to make her decision feel like a coerced one.
The rest of the day passed in a haze. Liam’s moods swung between sadness, anger, hope—and sometimes, nothing at all. It was like riding a rollercoaster with him. I couldn’t escape the waves of emotion crashing over us both. The knock at the door interrupted our tense silence. I knew it wasn’t her before I even heard the familiar steps.
“Come in,” I called, linking to our Beta and Gamma. Bastian entered with his usual stoic expression, and Nikolai followed, a mischievous gleam in his eyes.
“I’d ask what’s got you two so grim, but I’m guessing it has something to do with a certain little blonde with killer…” He was cut off by two deep growls reverberating through the room.
“Finish that sentence carefully, Gamma!” Liam growled, his voice low and dangerous.
Nikolai grinned, unfazed. “I was going to say ‘fighting skills.’ You’ve got to admit, the girl has killer skills.” He chuckled, holding up his hands in mock surrender. “And that, gentlemen, is why I don’t need a mate. Too much drama for me.”
Bastian stood silently behind him, his gaze sharp, clearly not amused. The tension between him and Nikolai was no secret. They never saw eye to eye on the subject of mates.
“Did you need something?” I asked, not wanting to veer off track.
“We ran into your dads,” Bastian spoke up. “They wanted us to remind you about dinner tonight. They expect you to bring your Luna.”
“Won’t be a problem, will it?” Nikolai asked with a smirk, but I ignored him.
“Message delivered. Now get out!” I snapped. I knew he didn’t mean any harm, but today wasn’t the day for his jokes.
Liam and I barely discussed the idea of asking Lia to dinner when the office door burst open again. I expected it to be Nikolai and Bastian returning, but when I looked up, my breath caught in my throat.
There she was.
Her golden curls were piled in a messy bun, stray tendrils framing her face. Her skin, creamy and almost glowing, flushed a soft pink as though she had been running. There was a fierce determination in her eyes, and the moment they locked with mine, everything else faded. I was lost. Completely. My heart thudded in my chest. This beautiful creature, this Goddess of mine, was here. And she was mine. She had to be.
Then she spoke, and it felt like the world itself was crashing down.
“I, Dahlia Sterling, of the Crystal Moon Pack…”
No. No, no, no! I couldn’t move. Why couldn’t I speak? My legs wouldn’t obey me. Was she rejecting us?
But then… “...accept you, Alpha Logan Ashford…”
Wait. Did she say accept? My wolf, Fang, stirred inside me, suddenly awake and wagging his tail. The weight that had held me down was gone.
In a heartbeat, I was on my feet, rushing to her. I pulled her into my arms, almost afraid she’d disappear. Liam followed suit, and together, we covered her face, her neck, her shoulders with kisses. The sound of her giggles was like music to my ears.
“I’ll never get tired of hearing that beautiful sound!” I muttered between kisses.
But suddenly, Liam pulled back, holding her at arm’s length. My wolf growled in protest at the distance between us, but I held him back. I knew Liam must have a reason.
“Are you sure, Angel?” Liam asked, his voice tense. I saw him stiffen, bracing himself for her answer.
