Rebirth Of The Rejected Luna Chapter 100: Affected By His Presence Here
**Tiana's POV**
"Theo!" I gasped softly. "There's nothing going on between Derek and I, I assure you."
"Really?" He snorted derisively. "I caught a whiff of his scent on you earlier but said nothing because I did not think of anything. That was until I saw the way you looked at each other."
"Theo I—"
"Tell me, Tiana, is he your lost love?"
"Don't be ridiculous!" I said, raising my voice more than I had intended to raise it. "Derek and I had nothing. It ended before there could even be something."
"So there was something?" He sighed, shaking his head.
"There wasn't anything Theo. We were mates, but he rejected me. It ended like that."
"The way he looks at you suggests otherwise," he said, leaning against the wall. "And you didn't think to tell me this earlier? Tell me, as he is here, his presence does not affect you."
"Theo, I can assure you Derek doesn't think of me as anything," I said, placing my hand gingerly on his chest. "And I didn't think to tell you because I wanted to forget about my past. It was for the same reason I never mentioned being the daughter to the beta of the Moonstone pack."
"Does his presence here not affect you?" Theo asked. "You're not answering the question."
"His presence is affecting me, but not in the way you think," I tell him. "It's affecting me because I hate him with everything in my soul. You don't seem to even trust me."
"I'm sorry for... I just..." Theo trailed off, running his hands through his hair. "I just couldn't help but be jealous. The thought of you with someone else..."
"Theo," I said in a soft whisper, moving so close to him that our bodies were pressed against each other. "Nothing is going to come in between us. Ever.”
"I'm sorry," he sighed. "I'm going, to be honest with you now though...I haven't exactly been honest."
I stiffened slightly, fear creeping through my bones. What did he mean by he hasn't been honest? Was he having a love affair?
"I had a mate as well."
"Oh." That was the only thing that I could say. The thoughts that whirled in my head were better off left inside. I wondered how the relationship ended; was there even a relationship to begin with? Had he rejected her the same way Derek had rejected me and left her desolate? My heart twisted in my chest as I thought of all the possibilities.
"The Lycan princess, Elara," he said. "I know you are thinking that I was messing around with her because I hung out with her a lot while she was here but I can assure you that's not the case."
"So what then is the case?" I asked, trying to keep my voice from breaking.
"She rejected me and truth be told, I was hoping for her to reject me because I had eyes only for you," he said, cradling my face. "She didn't think I was good enough for her because she misjudged me, and I misjudged her too, thinking she was haughty and proud. But we did have a laugh about the rejection and were good as friends. And I was dealing with being out on silent treatment by Fiona and she reminded me so much of her."
"Oh?"
"Yes," he said. "Fiona is like my own blood sister. I can't have romantic feelings for her... That was how I felt for Elara. But..."
"But what Theo?" My breath hitched in my throat. Was there a probability he started falling for her too? Was he going to call off our marriage because of Elara?
"She... She wanted us to court at some point but I rejected her offer. She wrote a letter to my father..."
"Your father knows about you two being mates?" I asked. Could that mean his father would prefer to have Elara as Luna? It made a lot of sense politically, the Lycans have great powers and a union with them would make Shadowclaw the most feared pack. However, now that my father was known by the Shadowclaw pack, was the Alpha going to risk turning into enemies with the Moonstone pack by calling it off?
After all, it was the Lycan princess that had rejected his son as a mate so the Lyncans had no cause to be angry if Theo chose not to go ahead with it.
"He doesn't know... We didn't tell our parents about it but yesterday she wrote a letter to my father..."
"Oh?"
"It should be somewhere around..." He looked under the mattress and pulled out an envelope, handing it to me.
I opened the letter slowly, my eyes scanning over the words.
*Alpha Romano,*
*I write to you with a heavy heart and an even heavier regret.*
*It has come to my attention that your son, Theodore Romano, has found his second chance mate and is soon to be joined to her in the sacred ceremony of the moon goddess’ blessing. While I do not wish to undermine his happiness or the sanctity of this bond, I must implore you to consider a matter of great importance—one that affects not just our fates, but the balance of power between the Lycan Court and your esteemed pack.*
*Theo and I were meant to be. The goddess herself chose us for one another, and I see now how foolish I was to have rejected him. I know I never mentioned it to you or my father which was wrong. I was blinded by my pride in being a Lycan, but I was also more blinded by fear of what it would mean to stand beside someone as strong and honorable as your son. But I have changed, Alpha Romano I have come to understand the depth of my mistake and the weight of what I lost when I let Theo go.*
*I know that his heart now belongs to another, but I believe that with time, we can mend what was broken. I believe that the bond we were meant to share can be rekindled, stronger than before.*
*As a father, I know you must want what is best for your son, but you must also consider what is best for your pack. A union between Theo and myself would not only restore the bond between our families, but it would elevate the Shadowclaw pack to new heights. Imagine the Lycans and the werewolves being joined as families? Together, we could forge an alliance so powerful that no rival could ever hope to challenge it.*
*We would be able to birth new Lycans and hybrid between Lycans and wolves which would be advantageous to both of our packs.*
*I do not mean to disparage his current mate, but she is not worthy. She does not have the strength or the standing to lead as Luna. I heard she doesn't even have a wolf yet. The goddess may have given Theo a second chance mate, but I do not believe she intended for him to settle for less than he deserves.*
*Please, Alpha Romano, I beg you to intervene. For the sake of your son, your pack, and the future we could build together, reject this union before it is too late. Let me prove to you—and to Theo—that I am worthy of being by his side.*
*I am truly sorry for rejecting him before, and I will spend the rest of my life making up for that mistake if you give me the chance. Please do not let one impulsive decision destroy what could be a bond that shapes the future of our kind.*
*Yours in hope and repentance,*
*Princess Elara of the Lycan Court.*
