Rebirth Of The Rejected Luna Chapter 58: Reconciling With Fiona

**Theo's POV**

I stood in my private training area, waiting for the soldier who I had seen taking an early morning walk to put on his gear. The early morning sun was peeking over the horizon. The sky was still a bit dark, with a hint of pink and orange. I had woken up extra early today and couldn't sleep back and was glad I found someone like me who was willing to duel to kill time. Plus it was an added advantage for me because I could skip training today.

He was done now so I faced him. He was one of the soldiers who had followed me to meet up with my father.

"Ready?" I asked. He nodded and got into position and then I struck first, attempting to catch him unawares but he was quick with his defense.

We began to fight, our swords clashing, almost deafening me.

Sweat started to form on my forehead as I blocked and countered his moves. He was good, but I was determined to win.

After what seemed like forever, I finally managed to disarm him with a strong hit. He nodded at me and raised his hands in a surrender motion. "Well fought, Your Highness," he said, bowing slightly.

I nodded back at him, catching my breath. "Thank you. You fought well too." I dropped my sword and walked towards the door. Unlike him, I did not have to change.

As I walked, I was grateful to feel the cool morning air on my face. It kind of eased my sore muscles and cooled the heat of the sweat inside of my clothes.

Once inside the pack house, the air was a bit different which I did not necessarily like but that didn't really matter. I walked through the corridors wishing my chambers were not that far in because my leg muscles seemed to ache for some odd reason.

Once inside my chambers, I was glad to see that a bath had been prepared for me. Unlike my father and other royal members, I did not like anyone bathing me. I just preferred for them to set the bath and I would sort out the rest including dressing. It was only on special occasions I allowed the servants to take care of that.

I sank into the bath, letting the hot water soothe my tired muscles. Closing my eyes, I let out a sigh of relief. After I was done bathing, I wrapped a towel around my waist and walked out, only to hear a knock on the door.

"Your Highness?" It was the voice of one of my father's servants. "His Majesty requests that you be in the courtyard in the next hour. The Lycans will be leaving then. They shall not be staying for breakfast."

"Alright," I responded. I had totally forgotten that they were leaving today— it would be the last day I was going to see Elara. I was eventually glad to meet her because she filled the void of Fiona avoiding me no matter how hard I tried to talk to her. Elara was boyish in nature with her antiques— climbing, horse riding and so much more which was literally how Fiona was so we hung out often.

Dressed in fresh clothes, I made my way to the courtyard where the Lycans were gathering. I exchanged farewells with them, wishing them safe travels.

Then, Princess Elara approached me with a bright smile. Before I could say anything, she hugged me tightly.

“Goodbye, Theodore,” she said warmly. “Take care.”

I stiffened slightly, surprised by the hug. My father, standing nearby, noticed and smiled. When the Lycans finally left, he turned to me.

“What was all that about? Why did she hug you?” he asked, a curious look on his face.

“Oh, we’re just good friends,” I explained. “She’s a bit reckless, like Fiona. She reminds me of Fiona. We usually duel with each other in our free time and play rough.”

My father nodded, although he did not seem satisfied with the explanation. “Alright then.”

We walked back inside together and parted ways when we got to his chambers. I continued to mine and as I entered my room, I was surprised to see Fiona sitting on my bed. The sight reminded me of the time Elara had climbed through my window and sat there waiting for me.

“How long have you been waiting?” I asked, closing the door behind me.

“Not long,” she replied.

“How did you get in?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

Fiona smirked. “I’m your best friend. No more questions about how I come and go.”

I laughed softly. “Fair enough.”

We stared at each other for a moment, the silence stretching between us. Finally, Fiona spoke, her voice serious.

“I’m not going to suddenly say that I don’t have romantic feelings for you,” she began. “But I’ve decided to let this go. Completely. I’m not going to stop you from falling for Tiana. But I also want to ask you not to abandon me or leave me behind. I’m going to push aside my feelings because I want our friendship to be like before.”

I looked at her and I knew how hard this must be for her, and I appreciated her honesty.

“Thank you, Fiona,” I said softly. “I promise, I won’t leave you behind."

"Have you spoken to Tiana as of late?" She asked after a few minutes of silence.

"Not really... With the Lycans and all that I've been busy."

"I figured," She sighed. "She's made a lot of progress lately. Maybe you can watch her next training."

"Sounds like a good idea," I smiled.

"I'll be on my way," She said standing up. "Let's go horseback riding in the evening."

"As you wish milady," I smiled.

After Fiona left, I changed into a casual outfit and decided I was going to see Tiana. When I got to her room the door was slightly ajar and when I peered in there was no one.

I decided to let myself in and wait. It wasn't even up to five minutes that I heard a door and saw her walk out of the bathroom in a towel. She turned red instantly.

“Oh, I didn’t know you were in the bathroom,” I said quickly. “I thought since your door was open, no one was here. I’m sorry, I should have waited outside.”

I shook my head, smiling a little. “It’s fine, really. I don’t mind.”

I breathed a sigh of relief. "I'll uh... Excuse you so you can dress appropriately.”
