**Theo's POV**

My father looked at me with a piercing gaze over his tea mug. "What are you not telling me, Theo?"

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. "What do you mean, Father?"

He leaned forward, his eyes searching mine. "Other than the fact that she's an omega, you're hiding something."

"Why would you assume that?" I asked furrowing my brows innocently. "In fact, what is that supposed to mean?"

"Is it because she is not a full werewolf?" My father asked. "Half human?"

"She's a full werewolf," I replied quickly, perhaps too quickly.

"Is she is slave?" My father asked. "We both know we can't accept that after what happened with your grandfather."

"No, no not at all."

"So it's worse?" He questioned with a raise of his brows. "Do not tell me she's a criminal for a heinous crime."

"No father... There's nothing else," I lied. I already had it in mind that I would not break the news to him about Tiana until we got to the pack.

"You know I can easily tell when you're lying," he said, his tone gentle but firm. "So why don't you tell me the whole truth?"

I sighed, realizing there was no point in trying to deceive him. "It's complicated."

My father leaned back in his chair, his expression softening slightly. "Why don’t you start from the beginning? How did you two meet?"

I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But the look in his eyes told me he wouldn’t settle for anything less than the complete story. "We had a rogue crisis at the border," I began. "Peter and I were there to sort out the situation when we saw a girl being attacked by rogues. We rescued her."

"A girl? Just wandering near our borders?" my father asked, eyebrows raised.

"Yes," I said, nodding. "She was in bad shape. The rogues had cornered her, and she was fighting them off, but it was clear she wouldn’t last much longer."

"What happened next?" he asked, leaning forward, clearly interested.

"We brought her back to the pack and made sure she was treated," I continued. "Once she recovered, we asked her where she was going."

"And what did she say?" my father prompted.

"She said she didn’t know," I replied. "She was running away from home. She told us she had been mistreated all her life and decided she was done with all that."

My father’s eyes narrowed. "Mistreated? In what way?"

"She didn’t go into much detail," I said. "But it was clear she had been through a lot. She was scared, but there was also a strength in her. She refused to go back, no matter what."

My father nodded slowly, digesting this information. "And you decided to take her in."

"She had nowhere else to go," I said simply. "She was vulnerable, and I couldn’t just turn her away."

"Do you realize that she might have been a spy from an enemy pack?" My father asked.

"I doubt that sincerely," I said to him. "The circumstances do not match. Plus who would have sent someone in her state as a spy?"

"Could have been a disguise," he shrugged.

"Father... I know what I'm saying, it wasn't."

He was silent for a moment, then asked, "Is there anything else I should know about her?"

I took a deep breath, knowing this was the part I had been dreading. "She's yet to wolf out."

My father’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. "She hasn’t shifted yet?"

"No," I admitted. "She’s been with us for a while now, but she hasn’t had her first transformation."

My father leaned back, his expression thoughtful. "That is unusual."

"I know," I said. "But she’s strong in other ways. And you know I did a bit of research on why people of age haven't wolfed out."

"What have you gotten so far?" He asked.

"The trauma perhaps," I shrugged. "She seemed pretty broken and tries to act like she's mentally strong but sometimes... I don't know."

He regarded me with a mixture of concern and curiosity. "Tell me more about her. What makes you so sure she’s the one?"

I smiled, thinking of Tiana. "She has a way of making me feel at ease. She’s kind and empathetic, but she’s also tough. She doesn’t let her past define her, and she’s always looking forward, trying to make the best of her situation."

My father nodded. "It sounds like she’s had a difficult life. And yet, she’s found a place among us."

"She has," I agreed. "The pack has accepted her, and she’s proven herself time and again. She helps wherever she can, and everyone respects her for it."

My father’s gaze softened. "It sounds like you’ve found someone very special, Theo."

"I have," I said earnestly. "I know it might seem complicated, but I believe in her. I believe in us."

He reached across the table, placing a hand on my shoulder. "I trust your judgment, son. If you believe she’s the one, then I support you. But you know this all depends on whether she ends up being your mate."

“Thank you, Father,” I said, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders. “That means a lot to me. And I'm certain the moon goddess will wish it upon us."

We sat in companionable silence for a few moments, each lost in our thoughts.

“What’s her name again?” my father asked, breaking the silence.

“Tiana,” I replied. “Her name is Tiana.”

“Tiana,” he repeated, rolling the name over his tongue. “A beautiful name. I look forward to meeting her properly.”

“You will,” I promised. “I’m sure she’ll be eager to meet you too.”

My father smiled a rare and genuine smile that warmed my heart. “You know, Theo, it’s moments like these that remind me why we fight, why we protect our pack. It’s for the chance to have these connections, these bonds.”

I nodded, “I know. And I’ll do everything in my power to protect her, just as you’ve protected our pack.”

He squeezed my shoulder, his grip firm and reassuring. “You’ll make a great leader one day, Theo. I have no doubt about that.”

“Thank you,” I said, my voice thick with emotion. “That means a lot coming from you.”
