Rebirth Of The Rejected Luna Chapter 60: What Was Going On Between You And Elara?
**Theo's POV**
I held Tiana close, feeling her body relax into mine as she drifted off to sleep. Her breathing slowed, and her face looked so peaceful. I couldn't help but watch her, taking in the gentle rise and fall of her chest.
Before I knew it, I was out cold too. The next thing I knew, the sun had dimmed a little, casting a warm orange glow over the garden. Tiana was still snuggled up against me, and I felt this sense of contentment. I pulled her a little closer and smiled.
This was it - this was the woman I wanted to wake up to every day.
A few minutes later, Tiana stirred, slowly opening her eyes. She looked around, disoriented, and then her gaze landed on me. "Oh no, how long did I sleep?" she asked, her tired eyes showing a hint of panic.
I smiled down at her. "I have no idea," I replied. "I just woke up as well."
She sat up, rubbing her eyes. "I can't believe I fell asleep like that."
"It is a good thing, " I said softly. "And you looked like you needed the rest."
She smiled, a bit embarrassed. "Thank you for letting me sleep. Do you have any plans for the evening?"
In my mind, I felt a surge of excitement. Maybe she wanted to spend more time with me. But then I remembered my plans with Fiona. "Not really," I said, trying to sound casual. "But I'm supposed to go horseback riding with Fiona."
Her face fell slightly, but she quickly masked it with a smile. "That sounds fun."
"Would you like to come?" I asked immediately.
"I’d love to join, but maybe some other time. I wouldn’t want to intrude on your time with Fiona."
I frowned, not wanting her to feel left out. "Are you sure? I'm sure Fiona wouldn't mind."
She shook her head gently. "Fiona may be fine with it, but she'd probably feel hurt. She wants to spend time with her best friend, and I don't want to take that away from her."
"Oh..." I said, feeling a pang of guilt. I hadn't thought about it that way. But in my mind, I wondered if Tiana was trying to tell me something deeper. Did she want our time together to be just us? Was she hinting at wanting to do something with me alone?
"How about this," I said after a moment. "How about we go out early tomorrow morning, before dawn, and ride? I'll show you through the city and stuff since you’ve never really explored."
Tiana's eyes lit up, like a child that has been handed candy. "That sounds wonderful," she said, her smile returning. "I'd love to."
I smiled at her response and couldn't help but think about how awesome it would be to explore the city with Tiana. Just the two of us, wandering around, getting lost in the streets. If not for the duties I had tomorrow, I'd have taken her to see the city when the market was open because I wanted to see her face light up when she saw something she loved.
_Maybe some other time_ I said to myself. After all, we had years ahead of us.
As the sun started to set, casting these long shadows across the garden, I knew it was time to head back. But I was already counting down the hours until our ride the next morning.
"We should head back so you can meet with Fiona," she said as though reading my thoughts.
"Right?" I muttered, standing up and then extending my arm for her to grab onto. We walked slowly back to the pack house and I decided to escort her back to her room.
"Thank you for today, Theo. It was really nice."
"Thank you for coming," I replied. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow."
"Me too. Goodnight, Theo."
"Goodnight, Tiana," I said, watching her disappear into her room.
As I walked back to my chambers, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. The thought of spending more time with Tiana made me happy. It felt right. I quickly changed into more suitable clothes for horseback riding and headed out to meet Fiona.
Fiona was already waiting for me by the stables, her face lighting up when she saw me. "Ready to go?" she asked, her usual enthusiasm evident. She seemed to be back to her normal self.
"Absolutely," I replied, mounting my horse. We raced each other around the field about four times and she won three times which had never happened before, but I couldn't help but think about Tiana and our plans for the morning. That was very distracting.
"Seems like your horse has been a little rusty as of late," She grinned. "Or you are the rusty one."
"It was just three wins in the history of a thousand years Fiona," I teased, rolling my eyes then we began to trot round the field in silence.
"You're awfully quiet," Fiona remarked after a while. "Something on your mind?"
I glanced at her, Fiona was my best friend but with the whole confession, I was not sure I could confide in her what I felt about Tiana. "Just thinking about tomorrow," I said carefully.
"Oh? What's happening tomorrow?" she asked, curious.
"Nothing of importance," I brushed her off.
"Nothing of importance but you're thinking about it?" She teased.
"No, no... Just wondering how my day will be."
"You'll have training, then breakfast and then you'll have a court and council meeting. Review taxes with the minister of finance, and attend to other royal matters... You never think about it."
"Uh, thinking about... You know the day may hold a different possibility?"
"You're evading the topic which means you're still cautious and think it might be awkward for you to tell me about it," she commented. "Which only points to one thing— it's about Tiana."
I hated that she could read me so well. I decided to stay silent.
"You can tell me. I don't mind. I'm serious."
"I’m taking Tiana for an early morning ride through the city," I said, watching her reaction.
Fiona raised an eyebrow but smiled. "That sounds nice. She hasn't seen much of the city, has she?"
"No, she hasn't," I replied. "I thought it would be a good way to spend some time together."
Fiona nodded, understanding. "I'm sure she'll love it. You two seem to get along well."
"We do," I admitted.
"Okay, now that we are on the subject of romance, what was going on between you and the Lycan princess while she was here?" Fiona asked. "Cause I'm not having you play with Tiana's feelings.”
