Rebirth Of The Rejected Luna Chapter 69: Tiana Second Chance Mate
**Tiana's POV**
By the time we returned to the house, we were both sweaty and exhausted. After quick showers, we made our way to the dining hall, where the others were already seated.
The meal passed by with all of us making jokes but I couldn’t help noticing Theo. He was quieter than usual, picking at his food and barely contributing to the conversation.
After dinner, I caught up with him in the hallway. “You seem exhausted, are you okay?" I asked.
He offered a small smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes as he picked up my hand and placed a kiss on it. “Yes, I am."
I studied him, unsure if I believed him. “Are you sure?"
"I am Tiana, I just had an exhausting day," he said softly.
"Alright, I'll leave you to get some rest then," I said before walking away.
By the time I climbed into bed, exhaustion had fully set in. My muscles ached from training and riding, and I barely had the energy to pull the blanket over me before sleep claimed me.
But it wasn’t a peaceful sleep.
Cold air seeped into the room, causing there to be goosebumps on my skin. I stirred, half-asleep, trying to pull the blanket tighter around me, but the cold only grew stronger. Then, I felt a tugging sensation in my chest. It was a bit light at first but persistent.
My eyes snapped open. My heart raced as the tugging grew stronger, pulling me toward the door. I tried to resist, but it was as if my body wasn’t my own.
I walked towards the door and opened it sharply, walking down the corridor. My legs were pulling me in a direction I did not know. I tried to slow down as my muscles ached but it was impossible. Something inside me felt like it was dire.
Suddenly, I stumbled— someone crashed into me unexpectedly. It was Theo, he staggered back, trying to get a hold of himself. When he finally managed to, I asked. "Theo? What are you doing?" It was definitely strange for him to be roaming the pack house late at night, especially while half asleep.
"I... I don't know," he stammered, blinking rapidly as if trying to clear the sleep away from his eyes.
"You look restless, are you alright?" I asked, genuinely concerned about him.
"I'm fine..." Then he trailed off, staring at me with some sort of intensity I couldn't understand.
I looked at my feet, wondering what had brought me here in the first place. An unexplainable force had driven me out of my bed and led me here... What was I even doing here?
I looked up at Theo and then I realized that I had been led to him. Before I could process my thoughts or why I was led here, his lips came crashing down on mine in a ferocious and hungry manner.
I let out a soft gasp, my mind becoming foggy as Theo’s lips claimed mine. His kiss was urgent, almost desperate, as though he was trying to tell me something that words could not. My hands instinctively found their way to his chest, not to push him away, but to caress it simply because it felt like the right thing to do.
His warmth melted away the feeling that had driven me from my room. Kissing him seemed to cure the ache in my muscles and the confusion from earlier.
Then the thought occurred to me that I was kissing Theo. The soon-to-be alpha in the middle of the night and in the middle of the corridors.
What has possessed me?
I pulled back, breaking the kiss, my breathing ragged as I stared up at him. His eyes were wide, his chest heaving, and I could see the same shock reflected in his expression.
“Theo…” I whispered, barely able to form the words. “What… what was that?”
He stepped back, running a hand through his hair, as he looked away from me. “I… I don’t know.” he stuttered.
I sighed, not knowing what to say at first. How could Theo have kissed me without knowing why?
“You don’t know? You don’t just—” I gestured vaguely between us, “—do that without knowing why.”
“I didn’t mean to…” he started, then stopped, shaking his head. “No, that’s not true. I've always wanted to... kiss you. I did mean to, but it’s like… something pulled me here. To you.”
I blinked, trying to process his words. “Something pulled you? Theo, I felt it too. This… tugging sensation in my chest. It wouldn’t let me stay in my bed. It brought me here.”
His eyes snapped back to mine, "Your wolf?”
I hesitated, nodding slowly. “Maybe. But I really don't know... I just had this uncomfortable feeling laying there and..."
He exhaled, running his hands down his face. “This doesn’t make any sense.”
“No, it doesn’t. But… that kiss, Theo. That wasn’t nothing.”
"I know. It wasn’t nothing. But it’s also… complicated.”
I nodded, biting my lip. “More than you know.”
For a long moment, we stood there in silence. Finally, Theo sighed. “Tiana, I need to figure this out. We both do.”
“Agreed. But, Theo…”
He looked at me.
“Next time,” I said softly, a small smile tugging at my lips, “maybe ask first.”
He laughed lightly and ran a hand through his head and then suddenly stopped his movement, his eyes turning dreamy.
"Tiana... I... I think I know what this is..."
"What—" Suddenly, I felt a rumbling sensation in my chest and then a purr.
Mate... A voice whispered to me. I gasped, taking a step backwards. How was it possible that Theo was my second chance mate?
My heart palpitated against my chest.
The moon goddess had a penchant for mating me with Alpha's but this time it was more complicated. Theo barely knew much about where I was actually from and—
My thoughts became muddled up as he pressed a soft kiss to my lips.
"I, Theodore Roman, Son of Eli Roman, Alpha of The Shadowclaw Pack accept you Tiana as my mate.”
