Tiana's POV

I could barely breathe. He was sorry to Tiana?

So it meant that the sorcery did not fully work on him and he did not forget? Was it because he had dropped the talisman? Or did it have to do with his soul slightly being stronger than the magic used but not strong enough to overpower it?

I peered closer trying to get a good look at him.

Was that fear on his face? Or rage?

The physician dragged Theo down the corridor, barely keeping him upright. Theo's robes were rumpled and stained with dried herbs and sweat. He looked like he was struggling to walk.

Then, another figure appeared around the corner. It was Alpha Roman. He walked beside them, silent and serious. His jaw was tight, and his face was unreadable.

Theo muttered something in a high-pitched voice, like a child lost in a nightmare. But Roman's face didn't change. He didn't show any emotion.

I stayed hidden, my heart racing in my throat. They didn't see me. I watched as they entered a chamber I had never seen used before. Roman stepped in last, pulling the heavy door shut behind him.

The lock clicked, and seconds passed. Then, the screaming began. It wasn't a scream of rage or pain. It wasn't even a scream of resistance. It was a scream of terror.

I stood there in the dark, listening to the screams. I couldn't do anything but listen. I felt helpless and scared. What was happening to Theo? What were they doing to him?

The screams went on for what felt like a long time. I didn't move. I just stood there, frozen in fear. I didn't know what to do. I was trapped in the darkness, listening to Theo's terrified screams.

After what seemed like an eternity, he was taken out of the room and led to his chambers. Alpha Roman stopped together with the physician as they stepped out of his chambers, looking around. I felt my heart pounding in my chest from the fear of being discovered by them. Then heaved a sigh of relief the moment they were gone.

I walked towards his chambers, curiosity getting the better of me and then opened the door.

I stepped into the dimly lit room, and my eyes immediately found Theo. He was sitting on the floor, his knees drawn up to his chest. He was trembling, and his breath was coming in ragged gasps.

His robes were now disheveled and clinging to his skin. It looked like he had been fighting with them for hours.

Sweat clung to his brow, and his eyes were wide. They darted around the room like someone trapped in a nightmare. I took a step closer, and he looked up at me.

His eyes were filled with terror, a raw panic that twisted something inside me. For a moment, I wondered if the confident, commanding Alpha I had come to know was still there at all.

Theo gasped, his voice trembling. "I'm so sorry," he said. "I didn’t mean it. I don’t know what came over me." His words spilled out in a desperate, broken rush.

It was like he was trying to explain himself after a terrible mistake. "I didn’t realize... until I saw her body," he said. His voice was shaking, and his eyes were filled with fear.

I didn't realize until I saw her body...

He was talking about me.

I could see the panic in his eyes, and it was heartbreaking. I wanted to help him, to calm him down. But I didn’t know what to do. He looked so lost and scared.

I took another step closer, trying to comfort him. But I was unsure if he would even notice me. He was so caught up in his own fear and panic.

My chest tightened as I took another step forward. This wasn’t the Theo I knew and had fallen in love with

"Shh, Theo," I whispered softly, kneeling beside him. My hand hovered for a moment before I gently placed it on his trembling shoulder, hoping my touch would offer him some comfort. "Calm down. It’s okay. Whatever happened, you’re safe now."

His eyes darted to mine, wild and pleading. For a brief second, I thought he might collapse into my arms. But instead, his body stiffened.

"She’s haunting me," Theo whispered, his voice was hoarse. His eyes welled with tears, and his hands gripped his hair. He pulled at it as though he could escape the madness clawing at his mind.

"I didn’t want this," he said. "I never asked for this... But now, she won’t leave me. She’s always there, in my thoughts. In my dreams." His words sent a shiver crawling up my spine.

I knew exactly who he meant.

He was talking about me.

His eyes locked onto mine, and I could see the pain and desperation in them. I knew he was trapped in his own mind, haunted by the memories of me.

I wanted to help him, to comfort him. But I didn’t know how. He seemed so lost, so broken. I took a step closer, trying to reach out to him.

But he was too far gone, trapped in his own world of pain and fear. I could only stand there, watching him, feeling helpless. My heart softened as I looked at him.

I leaned closer, speaking in the calmest voice I could muster. "Theo, she’s not haunting you," I said. "She’s trying to protect you."

I wanted him to understand and know that I wasn’t the one causing him pain. "She wants to save you from whatever is happening to you," I continued.

"From what they’ve done to you," I added, my voice barely above a whisper. "She knows that this is not your fault and you were only a victim."

"No... She... She..."

"She knows you didn't go into the kitchen by your own will. She understands you, Theo, you need to snap out of this."

"Who are you?" He asked, his eyes getting wider with panic.
