Rebirth Of The Rejected Luna Chapter 127: The Truth Will Find You

**Erika's POV**

Elara’s gaze softened just slightly. “Because I think it’s time you started asking the right questions.”

I wanted to argue, to deny it, but something inside me whispered that she was telling the truth.

And if she was…

Then what else had been kept from me?

My mother. The Alpha. The Luna whose presence I'd never been in.

Nothing made sense anymore.

Elara took a step closer, lowering her voice. “Think about it, Erika. If you were truly just the daughter of a widow, why would my father be so invested in your power? Why would he push you to train, to awaken something inside you?”

My lips parted, but no words came out.

Because she was right.

I had always questioned the Alpha’s persistence and his obsession with my abilities. But I had never considered that there was a deeper reason behind it.

Now, I wasn’t sure I wanted to know.

Elara took a step back as if giving me space to breathe. “You have more to uncover than you realize,” she said. “And sooner or later, the truth will find you.”

I stood there, frozen, as she turned and walked away, her figure disappearing down the hall.

The truth.

Something told me I wasn’t going to like it because this might not be all of it.

The moment I stepped into my mother’s chambers, I knew she knew. It could only explain why she had always been so fixated on me not drawing attention to myself.

She stood by the window, her hands gripping the sill so tightly that her knuckles turned white, but she didn’t turn to face me. "I saw you with the princess earlier on."

"Why didn’t you ever tell me?"

The words spilled from my mouth before I could stop them.

She didn’t react at first. Just a slow, measured exhale, like she had been preparing for this exact moment.

"Tell you what?" she finally asked, her voice quiet but laced with something I couldn’t quite place.

"That I am royalty."

"You aren't. Who told you that?"

"Elara." I studied her back, searching for a flinch, a crack, anything. "She said we’re cousins. That you and her mother are sisters."

This time, she turned.

Her face was unreadable, but her eyes were filled with something dangerously close to fear.

"And what else did she say?"

"That no one speaks of it. That it’s a forbidden topic in the packhouse.", I hesitated, then pushed forward. "That the Alpha’s kindness doesn’t extend this far without reason. It is because of your younger sister who you don't even like."

Something flickered in her gaze, a crack in the carefully constructed mask she wore. Then, just as quickly, it was gone.

"I raised you. That is all that matters."

"That’s not an answer."

Her lips pressed into a thin line, and for a moment, I thought she wouldn’t answer. Then she sighed.

"Yes. You and Elara share blood. But that is all you need to know."

"Why was it kept a secret?" My voice rose slightly, frustration pushing through. "Why does no one speak of it?"

She hesitated, just for a second. But it was enough. There was more. There was always more.

"Some truths are dangerous, Erika. You must let this go."

"I won’t."

She stepped closer, gripping my arm. Her hold was firm, almost desperate.

"Then listen to me. If the Alpha ever calls for you, you must never go to him alone. If he summons you, I must be there."

A chill ran down my spine. "Why?"

"Promise me, Erika."

Her voice wavered not with anger, but something worse. Fear.

And that shook me.

But I couldn’t promise that.

I pulled my arm free.

"I can’t promise you that."

"You will be the death of me... The death of the Luna. Erika now is not the time to be stubborn."

I turned and walked out on her.

I didn't know where I was going, I just knew I had to get out. I needed to breathe, to escape the suffocating feeling that was building up inside me. And somehow, my feet led me straight to Carlo. He was standing outside near the training grounds, surrounded by a few other warriors, but as soon as his eyes met mine, his expression changed. He could sense the turmoil inside me.

I opened my mouth to say something, but before I could get the words out, it hit me. A pull, a force that slammed into me with such intensity that I physically stumbled. My breath caught in my throat as I felt the word echo through my mind, my blood, my bones. "Mine."

Carlo's eyes darkened slightly as he moved towards me. His voice was lower, rougher, as he said my name. "Erika." My wolf was screaming, clawing at me, demanding that I go to him. And I did. I didn't think, I just moved. One step, then another, until I was standing right in front of him, close enough to feel the heat radiating off his body.

And then I grabbed him. Carlo didn't hesitate, his hands coming up to grip my waist and the back of my neck as his lips crashed against mine. The kiss was fierce, primal, and it felt like it was exactly what I needed. I felt like I was melting into him, like our bodies were becoming one. The storm inside me was still raging, but with Carlo's lips on mine, I felt like I could finally breathe. Like I was home.

It was raw. Desperate. Wild.

I didn’t know how long it lasted but when I finally pulled back, I was breathing hard, my heart pounding so loud it was all I could hear.

"You felt it," he said. Not a question. A fact.

I swallowed hard, nodding.

"Yes."

His grip on me tightened slightly. "Then you’re mine."

I should have been afraid of how easily I accepted that. But I wasn’t.

Because it felt like I had always been his.

I was still trying to make sense of everything when the words slipped out.

"Did you know?"

Carlo blinked. "Know what?"

"That Elara is my cousin."

He frowned slightly. "The King mentioned it once, but I didn’t think much of it."

The King.

A cold chill ran through me.

"Did he say anything else?"

"No. Just that you and Elara share blood. It didn’t seem important at the time."

It didn’t seem important.

But it was.

And the King knew.

A messenger arrived before I could say another word. "The Alpha requests your presence."

My mother’s warning echoed in my head.

"You must never go to him alone.”
