Rebirth Of The Rejected Luna Chapter 59: Picnic Date
**Tiana's POV**
"Okay," I managed to say softly. He nodded and left, closing the door behind him. I felt my cheeks burning as Theo quickly excused himself from the room. I had literally just been standing there with no clothes underneath my towel. He had seen me so exposed which ideally was not meant to be. As I turned, my towel fell to the ground and I gasped, imagining if Theo was still here. I was certain I would have melted away in embarrassment. I hurried to change, my heart still pounding from the unexpected encounter. I douse myself in a ton of perfume and body oils but not too much so I did not break a sweat unnecessarily and then after an eternity of debating on what to wear, I chose a simple pink dress and pulled my hair back into a loose braid, hoping it looked presentable but not trying to dress to impress him. I took a long look at myself in the mirror, wondering if perhaps it was a bit too simple.
After a deep breath to steady my nerves, I wore a pair of dainty sandals and then opened the door, peering my head to see if he was anywhere in sight.
Theo was waiting just outside, leaning against the wall. "I'm done," I said, trying to sound casual like I had not just spent a lot of time trying to find a dress.
"You smell wonderful," He smiled and gestured for me to lead the way back to my room.
"Thank you."
As we entered my room again, Theo sat on the edge of the bed, and I joined him, feeling a bit more relaxed. "How was your morning?"
"Quite alright, woke up early and had a duel with one of the soldiers to get myself going. Then escorted the Lycans to the entrance with my father."
"Sounds nice,” I replied with a smile.
"How was your morning?"
"Quite good, actually," I told him. "We moved on to advanced weaponry today. The training was longer than usual and quite exhausting but it was fun."
"It was?" He asked surprised. "Advanced weaponry can be quite of a pain in the derriere— forgive my language, for beginners."
"Forgiven Theo," I chuckled. "I had Fiona to help out along with Peter's guidance," I shrugged.
"Seems like you two did some female bonding," Theo commented with a wry smile.
"Well sort of," I shrugged. "She's... Nice?"
"She is..." Theo agreed and then we lapsed into silence.
"This morning, we all ran really late," he commented, breaking the silence.
I nodded. "Yeah, it was a hectic start to the day."
He looked at me, concern in his eyes. "You haven't had breakfast, have you?"
I shook my head. "No, I haven't."
"Would you like to have a breakfast picnic in my garden?" he asked, his eyes lighting up with the idea.
"Sure, that sounds nice," I replied, smiling at him. As if on cue, my stomach growled slightly…
"I'll be back in a few minutes to set everything up," Theo said with a wink standing up. "Just wait here."
As he left, I found myself looking around my room, trying to calm my racing thoughts. The idea of a picnic with Theo was both exciting and nerve-wracking. It wasn't like I hadn't had dinner with him before but this did not seem formal. It seemed more casual and intimate.
After a long while when I thought maybe something took his attention away and we were probably not eating together again, Theo returned, a smile on his face. "I apologize for taking too long, are you ready?"
I nodded, standing up. "Yes, let's go."
We walked through the corridors of the pack house together, and out of it. The sun was a little harsh and I was certain we were well at noon now. He led me to a part of the garden I hadn't explored before. It was a beautiful, secluded area with tall trees providing shade and colourful flowers blooming all around. A blanket was spread out on the grass, with a basket of food and drinks neatly arranged.
"Wow, this is beautiful," I said, taking in the sight.
"I'm glad you like it," Theo replied, sitting down and gesturing for me to join him. "I thought it would be a nice change from the usual breakfast routine— although this seems more like lunch now.”
We settled down on the blanket, and Theo began to unpack the basket.
"Help yourself," Theo said, handing me a plate.
I took a pastry, savouring the sweet, flaky taste. "This is really good," I said between bites.
Theo smiled, taking a bite of his own. "I'm glad you think so. I wanted to make sure everything was perfect. That's why I took so long cause I had to be specific about instructions."
"So what's usually your favorite thing to do?" He asked. "Before you came here."
"Never really has a favorite thing," I chuckled. "I was always so busy with work and other things so I couldn't really have time to explore things and know what I really like."
"Well you have that freedom now," he said. "Have you done that..."
"Well," I began, not exactly sure how to tell him I was still walking on eggshells no matter how welcomed I felt. I did not want to start anything that wasn't suggested to me just in case I was imposing on the pack members.
"You still don't feel comfortable enough," he commented as if he could read my mind. I looked away immediately because it felt like his gaze was piercing into my soul.
"The garden is so peaceful," I remarked, looking around. "Do you come here often?"
"Smooth way to change the topic,” he grinned knowingly. "But yes, whenever I need to clear my head, it's my favorite place to think.
"I can see why," I said, feeling a sense of calm wash over me. The gentle rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of birds created a soothing background noise.
After we finished eating, we lay back on the blanket, looking up at the sky.
"You seem tired," Theo said softly, turning to look at me.
I nodded. "I guess the early morning and the training have caught up with me."
"Come here," he said gently, guiding my head to rest on his chest and torso. My breath hitched slightly as he kissed my forehead softly. "Feel free to fall asleep if you're too tired to walk back.”
