Rebirth Of The Rejected Luna Chapter 140: Elimination Plan

**Erika's POV**

I burst out of Carlo's chambers, slamming the door behind me. My fists were clenched, and my jaw was tight with frustration as I stalked down the dimly lit corridors. What was he hiding? Why was he so desperate to shut me up? I knew one thing for sure - this wasn't just about grief or my mom's imprisonment. This was about something else, something deeper and more sinister.

I reached my room and shut the door, pressing my back against the wood as I tried to calm my racing thoughts. But instead of calm, a memory surfaced. It was a fragment of a conversation, a snippet of a warning, something the Luna had told me...

It was just days ago when the Luna had summoned me.

I remembered walking into the Luna's chambers, feeling super uncertain about what she wanted. The room had been dimly lit, with candles flickering low, casting long shadows on the walls. The air had been thick with the scent of lavender and old books. She'd been sitting by the window, her hands clasped together, her eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"Stay away from the Constellation Room with Alpha Corvin," she'd warned me, her voice soft but urgent. I'd been confused, and I'd asked her why. The Luna had taken a deep breath, her fingers tightening around her dress. "Just promise me, Erika. No matter what happens, don't go there with him." I'd wanted to ask more questions, but something in her gaze had stopped me. It was a warning, a plea. She'd looked really scared, and it had freaked me out.

As I'd left her chambers, my heart still racing with unanswered questions, I'd almost collided with Alpha Corvin. He'd been standing right outside, his eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. I'd felt a shiver run down my spine, but I'd pushed it aside, telling myself I was just being paranoid. Now, I wasn't so sure. It seemed like he'd been waiting for me, listening in on our conversation or something. The thought sent a chill down my spine.

I'd tried to brush it off, but the memory had stuck with me. And now, with the Luna dead and my mom imprisoned, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was seriously off. Alpha Corvin's reaction, the way he'd looked at me...

I remembered the way Alpha Corvin's eyes had scanned me, curious and assessing, but not quite suspicious. I was pretty sure he hadn't overheard my conversation with the Luna. But still, he'd watched me with that calculating expression, the one that always made me feel like he was stripping away my layers to see what was really going on inside.

Now, sitting in my room, that memory kept nagging at me. Why had the Luna been so adamant that I stay away from the Constellation Room? Was there something about me that she didn't want Alpha Corvin to know? Or was it the opposite— was there something in that room that she didn't want me to see?

I frowned, my mind racing with possibilities. The Constellation Room was just a bunch of old stars and maps, right? But the Luna's warning had seemed so urgent, so serious. And now, with everything that had happened, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to it. That there was something hidden, something the Luna had been desperate to keep from me.

I wished I could read the stars like the Luna had, wished I could decipher the secrets that Alpha Corvin had uncovered that day. Because it was becoming terrifyingly clear that there was something huge.

A secret big enough for Alpha Corvin to kill his own mate. A secret big enough for him to throw my mom into the dungeons where it was inevitable that she would be beheaded for treason. And a secret that, if I was not extremely careful, might just get me killed next.

My heart was racing at the thought. I felt like I was walking on thin ice or even swimming in dangerous waters where the current against me was too strong with no idea what was lurking beneath the surface. But I knew one thing. I had to keep digging. I had to uncover the truth, no matter how dangerous it got. For my mom, for the Luna, and for myself and Elara.

Alpha Corvin’s POV

Erika.

I'd known from the start that she'd be a problem but I had not expected her to ever be this big of a problem.

I knew she could possibly be a thorn in my side when I decided to start to train her. But I'd underestimated her. She was sharper than I'd given her credit for, with a stubborn streak a mile wide. And those observant eyes of hers... they saw too much.

I leaned back in my chair, my fingers drumming on the armrest. Erika had a kind of power that I couldn't control, a power that came from knowledge and insight. And if she managed to put the pieces together, if she discovered the truth... everything would come crashing down around me and I would lose my pack.

The thought sent a chill down my spine. I'd worked too hard, sacrificed too much, to let it all be destroyed by one clever girl. I had to take care of her before she took care of me. The question was... how?

But I couldn’t simply kill her. Not yet. There was no justifiable reason, no crime severe enough to warrant execution. The worst I could do was banish her, especially now that her mother had been jailed for treason and I was going to behead Lady Althea. It would be the easiest way to rid myself of her without drawing suspicion.

Yet even that wouldn’t be enough.

Even if she was no longer in the pack, Erika could still be my ruin.

She could return. She could gather allies. She could unearth the truth I had buried and expose it to the world.

No—banishing her wasn’t an option.

I needed to eliminate her completely.
