Her CEO Stalker and Her Second Chance Mate Chapter 160
Briar
I was pacing the living room when my phone pinged with a text. Misty had given me a live map with Carter’s location and a green line straying off his course and straight to the blinking blue dot.
“Alright ladies, let’s go get him back,” I said, tossing my bag over my shoulder. We had all changed, blacking ourselves out from head to toe in anything we could find. My hair was braided back and covered with Carter’s cowboy hat. Bluetooth in ear to get directions and updates from Misty on the go. I cinched the chin strap to the hat up tight. We climbed on our bikes and headed down the road out of town. I was getting my man back, come hell or high water. Creedon had taken my entire life away from me once already, he wasn’t taking my new one too.
We were 45 mins into the ride which we had no idea how long would take, the sound of an incoming text chirped in my ear. It would have to wait, Misty would call me if she had any info. A minute later a call came through. I hit the side of my earpiece to let it answer.
“Ads pull over,” Misty’s voice shook.
“What is it?” I asked, doing as she told me. Lana and Mazzie pulled up beside me.
“Is Carter..”
“You just got a text from Carter, but it’s Creedon,” she warned.
I pulled off my glove and took out my phone from my jacket pocket, and hit the notification, then played the video message. My heart dropped. The image of Carter, shirtless and strung up between two trees. His head hung unconscious.
“Addy baby, you’ve been a bad, bad girl. Not only did you run away, and fuck this poor excuse for a beta wolf, which I could have overlooked had you just come back to where you belong, but you let him fucking mark you. Let's get one thing straight, you conniving little bitch. You belong to me, and until you surrender to me, I’m going to make him pay for taking what was mine.” He picked something up that gleamed in the spotlight he had trained on Carter. He brought it to Carter’s chest. My hands began shaking as Lana and Mazzie pressed in, aghast at what they saw. He sliced a deep cut across his chest, and blood oozed out of the wound but instead of streaming down his skin it foamed.
“Fuck!” Mazzie yelled, cussing and swearing as she screamed into the night.
“W..why is his blood doing that?” I stuttered, freaking out.
“The mother fucking bastard injected him with wolfsbane,” Lana swore.
“What the fuck is that?”
“Carter thinks it’s what he gave you along with a sedative after he took you,” Mazzie said, coming back from her tangent. “It blocks our wolf’s ability to surface and prevents our accelerated healing. Except it appears that Carter has been injected, that’s extremely painful. He isn’t going to be able to help us fight our way out of there. We are going to have to play this smart. Incognito, we survey what’s happening and make a plan. If we need to call in a few favors we do that, but right now we need to get there and see what we are dealing with.”
“Did you hear that Misty?”
“Yeah, I’m reworking your route so you will skirt around the house on a scenic road, You’ll have to ditch your bikes in the woods and go by foot. I did manage to get into the camera’s. They aren’t great but I will keep an eye on things. This place is like some royalty air bnb out in the middle of nowhere. The first objective is to get there, while you’re moving. I'll start moving other players in place, while I keep digging for anything I can find that might help us. Beck’s voice murmured in the background.
“Beck says to gas up in case you need to make a quick getaway. There’s a station… just over a mile up the road on the right. I put a new mark on the map. The turn off is on the left and it’s going to be hard to see, I’ll call you back once you get closer.”
“Thanks Misty, you’re the best.”
“Just stay safe for me Ads, this is deep shit. I know you can handle yourself, and that you’re like them but I can’t lose you,” she said as her voice broke.
“I have something of my own to live for now Misty, I’m not giving up easily, I’ll play it smart, I promise,”I told her.
“Ok then lets get moving!” Mazzie said.
And with that Misty hung up.
