Her CEO Stalker and Her Second Chance Mate Chapter 57
Carter
Tod and Bronx were bristling as Byron took Briar to the office.
“What sack of shit is this bull crap?” Tod voiced finally when I let my aura down, knowing she wouldn’t hear our conversation.
“It’s what Jake wanted. Why? I don’t know, but you're gonna deal with it or I’m going to take my fist to you so your mama can’t even recognize you.” Even Knox bowed his head as I pushed my dominance on Tod.
“Alpha is condoning her being here?” Bronx asked timidly, he had some dominance in him but he hated confrontation. He reserved it, and being smart, he just wanted answers.
“She has a pass; she’s Martha and Henry’s granddaughter,” I let them both know and they went quiet sharing a glance with each other then looking over to the office window. I crossed my arms over my chest. Martha had talked to him. She had told me a few things in the moments we spent outside.
“So what do we do?” Knox asked. I released Tod from my aura.
“Let her do the job, sort things out, she’s way smarter than you think.” They looked at me skeptically.
“She serviced Jake’s bike on her own. She knows her way around a bike. She just doesn't ride yet.”
“Yet?” Todd asked.
“Jake died before he taught her. That’s my job now.”
“You're acting like it’s more than just a job,” Tod pointed out.
“What’s it to you if it is?” I growled. He shook his head.
“Nothing I guess, but what role does a woman have to play here? Jake’s business isn’t a toy,”
“Trust me, she knows what she’s doing. She will have this place back in order in no time. You want your over due paychecks?” They both went quiet. Now they were listening. “Give her the time she needs to sort shit out, she will do right by you. She’s a good person. She’s been dealing with more than you want to know. Just don’t be assholes,” I growled out the last bit before I headed to the office Byron was coming out of. He nodded to me and I appreciated the older male. I knew he’d trust Jake in this, without argument.
When I stepped into the office, Briar was digging through drawers, and already had a notepad she was scrawling notes on. “You ok?” I asked. She nodded as she wound a pen into her hair putting it up in a bun.
“This place is a mess, but I’ll figure it out,” she said, leaning back in the seat.
I nodded. “You be ok here for a bit? I got some business to attend to.”
“Yeah, I'll be fine,” she said, reaching into her backpack and pulling out her laptop. I couldn’t help but lean in and take a whiff of her as I gave her a peck on her head before going out to my bike. My blood was boiling. There was one way to settle my wolf right now and that was putting a certain crew of wolves in their place.
