Her CEO Stalker and Her Second Chance Mate Chapter 161

**Creedon**

The message was marked as read, good, but that got a rise out of her. I had just finished dinner and looked down from the deck at the man who stole my mate. A fucking beta none the less, and he said I was the pathetic one. He was the sheriff of this backwater

pack, uncivilized heathens from what I saw. Leather-clad and rolling around town like some kind of circus act. Addy didn’t belong here; I’d prove it to her. She wanted the life I could provide her. If I had to beat the sense of that into her until she righted all the mess she left me and opened her legs willingly, then I’d do it the hard way. Nothing a little corporal and mental rehabilitation couldn’t override. Everyone had their breaking point. I stepped off the deck and walked over to my honored guest, grabbing a bucket of ice that held a bottle of wine on the way down. I set the bottle next to the blade on the table and dumped the ice over his head. It had the desired effect. He jolted as he snapped out of his unconscious state.

“Couldn’t let you miss the party, Sheriff,” I taunted. He looked down at the slash across his chest. The blood had slowed, but the wound wasn’t fully closed and still bubbled.

“Yeah, I sent my mate the video of your little mishap here,” I smacked his chest across the gash, and he bit back a grunt. “Showed her how weak and worthless you are. She will be crawling right back to me in no time.

“You’re fucking delusional,” he spat, shaking his head. This man had taken a lot of wolfsbane tonight; it was a wonder he wasn’t begging me to kill him already. He had grit, I’d give him that. I yanked his head back by his sandy blonde hair to get a better look at him. His grey-blue eyes glared at me from his stupid, ruggedly handsome face. And then he spat at me, square in the face. My fist connected with his face hard. His head slumped, out cold. One of my men passed me a towel. I wiped the spit from my face.

“Let me know when he comes to. That’s when the real fun starts, I told him, walking back into the house to take a fucking shower. *Disgusting prick*, I thought, shaking my head. I’d gag him next time.

*This getting knocked out shit was getting old,* I thought as I came too. My head was throbbing and my body felt weaker, the heat of the wolfsbane still burning through me. Keeping my eyes closed and my body still, I chanced a feel down the bond. She was still there, safe, and she was pissed with an overlay of concern and determination. I tried to reach out to her mind, but that door hadn’t opened for us yet; she needed to shift for that. I hoped she was staying far away from here and safe. Maybe she had run, and that was for the best, if I managed to get out of here I’d find her. I chanced opening my eyes. It was still dark out, so I couldn’t have been out long. One of the five men who stood around me in an arch placed his phone against his ear.

“He’s conscious," was all he said before listening and nodding before pocketing the phone. I sized them up through my swollen eyes. The guy with the phone grinned evilly.

“Boss said to clean you up,” he held out a hand, and another man handed him the hose. I rolled my eyes. I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of reacting as they hit me with the sprayer at full force, the water like icy knives to my skin. The men laughed, but I didn’t let it bother me. I needed to conserve my strength. Briar needed the energy on her end of the bond.

“That's enough,” Creedon said, descending the stairs to the deck. Go on, boys, me the sheriff and need to have a private conversation,” he said, smirking.

The men eyed me as they walked off, making comments to each other that I didn’t bother to pay attention to. The more Creedon’s attention was on me, the less it would be on Briar and her escape.
