Her CEO Stalker and Her Second Chance Mate Chapter 175

6 min 1 views

A few days later I was doing laundry after Dr. Thomas left. When a knock came at the door  I picked up the gun off the coffee table and tucked it into the waist of the only pair of pants I had lying around here and pulled the oversized tee of Carter’s I was wearing behind it so I could grasp it easily if needed. When I checked the peephole I swore inwardly, counted to ten and opened the door crossing my arms across my chest glaring at Clyde.

“To what do I owe this pleasure?” I asked sarcastically.

“Now daughter, is that anyway to greet your father and Apha?”

“I’m my own alpha, you said I could stay here, to make allies, find out the truth. I did all of that. Now what do you want?”

“The council sent me the video of you taking down Creedon Macalister. Asked me if you were one of mine and I told them you were. You have proven yourself,” he informed me as if I hadn’t already realized why he was here.

“So you aren’t even going to ask about the state of your beta? Like I care if the man I’ve never known about accepts me as anything to him, you can’t even care for the wolves within your own pack,” I snapped.

“I’m sure if you are here then Carter is as well, which means regardless of his condition, he will be fine,” he offered me his excuse without emotion. It was clear this man got around in life not having to give a shit about anybody but himself.

“Well, it’s been a long couple of days, what do you want? I have a lot to do.”I tried to be insistent he get to the root of the matter.  The sooner I cut to the chase and got rid of him the better.

“Can I come in?”

“Carter is recovering, I’ll have him call you when he’s up to it,” I said, going to close the door. He caught it before I could shut it.

“I’m not here to see Carter, I came here to see my heir. We have things to discuss.

I laughed. “Your what? Well I’m sure he is not here.” I said trying to shut the door again but the Alpha didn’t budge. A growl escaped my throat and his knowing eyes stared into mine but I didn’t back down as his aura washed over me. He just grinned.

“You know exactly who I mean,” he said amused. “We have things to talk about. Now stop being a child and let me in so we can discuss this like adults,” he growled. I bared my teeth at him.

This was precisely where I wanted him, acting like he needed me, but I couldn’t let him think I was easily convinced.

We stared each other down. I forced myself to look away despite my wolf’s protesting instincts. I pushed the door open and I watched him grin out of the corner of my eye.

“Fine, but make it quick. Like I said I’m busy,” I said, in an annoyed manner. He pushed past me inhaling deeply and I stiffened. Lana and Mazzie had said he’d know by my scent everything I wish he didn’t. I looked up at him and he smirked.

“Become a wolf, dominated a feral alpha, mated and pregnant all in such a short time my little Briar? You are full of surprise, he chuckled. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms across my chest.

“Out with it father dearest,” I said sarcastically. He looked around and grinned at me. I didn’t acknowledge it, my eyes glancing towards the kitchen where Rosie stood hackles raised. She looked at me and I opened my hand by my side in invitation and she came to me letting out a warning growl as she passed Clyde. His eyes glittered with amusement.

“Well daughter, you are my only child, even though you are half human you have shown me even with your less than pure genetics that you are worthy enough to follow in my footsteps.”

“I haven’t agreed to shit,” I snapped.

“Your mother was just as prickly as you when she got the notion to be a thorn in my side, I suppose your name is homage to that,” he said half heartedly. I wanted to punch the fucker in the face for saying anything about my mom but I gritted my teeth and held back.

“You don’t get to talk about my mother, not the one I lost or the one who raised me,” I barked. He held his hands up conceding to honor that. I knew it was so he could avoid questions, not because he was bowing to my boundary.

“Regaurdless you are my flesh and blood Briar, or is it Adielaide?”

“Brair, I haven’t gone by that name since I got here,” I insisted forcing myself to soften. I had to slowly turn my attitude off to make this believable.

“I want to get to know you daughter, I want to teach you the ways of this pack,” he insisted. He wasn’t sitting down, so hopefully this would be quick.

“I already have a pack I’m overseeing,” I started.

“That is not the pack of your blood, though that pack can have it’s advantages. It is larger, more wealthy and in better standing than this one here. I can teach you how wolves rule, how they prosper and how to hone in on your instincts as an alpha. You may have gotten this far on your own, but you need guidance and backing to be respected in this world. I can be that for you, and together we can make this pack more.”

So he wanted to use Creedon’s pack to boost his ego. Like a false sense of proprietaryness of the well established pack I had acquired. He didn’t have to know I saw right through him. How exactly do you plan on doing that?”

“Agree to be my heir, and I will show you,” a long moment passed as we eyed each other. Seems I got my stubbornness from him, I thought. I cocked my head at him.

“How the fuck am I supposed to run two packs on opposite sides of the country?” I pretended to be worried about the daunting possibility.

“I will help you, I don’t intend on going anywhere anytime soon,” he insisted.

That's what he thought..

“I’ll think about it,” I said.

“Thats all I ask,” he said casually.

We stared at each other again before he nodded and went to walk past me. Tucker who I hadn’t realized had descended the stairs hissed as he walked past. Rosie, her eyes locked onto him growled hackles still raised. He barely gave them more than a glance as he continued walking right out of the front door. I listened to his vehicle start and him pull down the drive. Before I relaxed. I then opened my phone and clicked on Dr. Thomas’ prescribed list of food. Being a constant donor meant I needed to eat properly. I walked into the kitchen and prepared Carter and I a late morning feast. I found my wolf turned her nose up to the eggs suggested and went for the steak. I was struggling here trying to fit the foods I could keep down within the prescribed foods the doctor suggested. Nausea had become my constant friend. However I’d choke down anything if it meant Carter got through this.
