“You fucking traitor!” Clyde shouted as the visiting alphas moved him through the crowd that parted for them. 

“I know what you did to my mother, your mate, or rather what you didn’t do. What you did to your brother—my uncle, and how you forced your packmembers to set up your helpless victims in the name of pack protection. You are the real traitor here,” I shouted at him as I walked next to Carter collecting his attire as he undressed while he walked. The visiting Alphas dragged his struggling form. He wasn’t going to escape his reckoning.

The pack members spilled out the backdoor behind us. When we reached the deck Carter was already down to his boxer shorts. He turned to me and I gripped his face in my hands before kissing him deeply and pouring my love down the bond. He accepted it, pouring his own back into me. We were just warming up the bond open between us. I had started testing my theory even before Carter had shifted. Trickling it down to him in the office with Chief, during sex, when we sparred, and he decided he wouldn’t spar with me anymore because of the pregnancy. The visiting alphas did their job dragging Clyde out onto the back lawn and released him as Carter walked up. Clyde didn’t bother to undress as he snarled at Carter.

Carter just shrugged as I tested the gateway within our bond and opened up my dominance to him. Clyde flexed and pushed his aura out.

“Submit now, before I end up tearing your head from your shoulders boy,” he spat.

Carter stood unbothered, my dominance at his disposal if he needed it. Carter grinned at Clyde. I could feel him testing that it was there.

“Enough of your bullshit Clyde. Let’s get this over with,” he taunted.

In the matter of moments both men shifted, Clyde’s clothes falling into shreds as his massive brindle wolf burst from him in a fury. The beast’s muscles flexed as Carter’s paws hit the earth, his grey wolf appearing bigger than anyone who knew him before remembered. Everytime we went through this exercise his wolf had grown larger. Only Lana, Mazzie and I were privy to that. The two massive wolves circled each other before Clyde made the first move and the next thing anyone observing could see was a blur of fur, teeth and claws.

I sucked in a breath as Lana and Mazzie tucked in close to me. I had faith in my mate but my nerves were on fire. One wrong move and it was all for nothing.
