|| Third-party POV ||

The tension in the castle was palpable, the air thick with unspoken words and simmering rage. Cassandra stormed into the Alpha King’s private chambers, her golden hair disheveled, her eyes blazing with fury. The grand doors slammed shut behind her, the sound echoing through the empty halls.

“You cannot do this to Kael!” Cassandra yelled, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and desperation. She stood before Darius, her husband and the Alpha King, her fists clenched at her sides.

Darius turned to face her, his expression calm but his eyes hard.

“I can, and I will,” he replied, his voice steady and final. “Have you watched him at the event? He’s weak, like a lowly dog. And his pup with that omega will only make the bloodline weaker.”

Cassandra’s eyes widened in disbelief. “He is our son.

Your

son,” she said, her voice breaking as she took a step closer to him.

“So is Alaric,” Darius shot back, his tone sharp. “He’s stronger, more reliable, able to control his temper. His wolf made even me submit. This is what happens when you are born of two alpha bloodlines. He is a born leader and I wronged him enought already because of you and your lowly pup."

"How could you say that? Are you raising questions to my blood now?" Cassandra yelled.

"Because I am rational here. And above all, it seems like Lilac has taken a liking to him. If we play the cards right, Alaric will have a better chance to win the election. Our bloodline will still be at the throne," the Alpha King declared.

Cassandra’s lips trembled as she fought back tears.

“And what about Kael?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

“He had this coming,” Darius said, his tone cold. “I’ve warned you. He’s beyond repair, and we have an image to maintain as the Alpha King.”

“He can still live a good life with his little mate in the castle,” Darius added, though his words offered little comfort.

Cassandra shook her head, her eyes filled with defiance. “You’re doing the wrong thing. Kael is your son. You should protect him.”

“And you are the Luna Queen, a mother to this country. You should protect all of them. You behaved irritationally before every one to protect your son,” Darius countered, his voice rising.

The room fell silent, the weight of their words hanging heavy in the air.

"Someone has to protect him. He is just a child," Cassandra’s chest heaved as she struggled to contain her emotions.

"He is twenty one. At his age, I found a good Luna and went for the election by my self. I didn’t need a mother to protect me. Look at Alaric or Alexander. Look how they carry themselves. Kael looked like a piglet before them," Darius growled.

"If Aria were alive, things would have never turned out like this,” he said, his voice bitter. “Alaric grew up all alone, and I never did anything to help. This is the least I can do for him.”

Darius sighed, his shoulders slumping as he turned away from her.

Her mind raced! After all these years, his heart still belonged to her. Aria! Even after becoming his Luna, she couldn't erase her. Aria was always ahead of her. Every one admired her for her beauty, for her strength. Cassandra could only watch. She was constant reminder of what Cassandra could never became. And Alaric was a mirror image of that bitch. No matter how much she tried, Alaric outshined Kael in a simple step, in front if every one. She should have killed the pup when she had the chance, instead of just pushing him away.

“Do as you see fit, my king,” Cassandra spat, her voice dripping with venom. She turned on her heel and stormed out of the room, leaving Darius alone with his thoughts.

In the dimly lit room of Kael’s private quarters, the air was thick with the scent of alcohol and rage. Kael stood by the window, his shirt unbuttoned, his hair disheveled. He threw the glass in his hand against the wall, the sound of shattering glass echoing through the room. The amber liquid spilled onto the carpet, staining it dark.

“Kael, please stay calm,” Coco said, her voice soft as she rushed to his side. She reached out to touch his arm, but he grabbed her throat, slamming her against the wall.

“I told you to be discreet,” Kael growled, his eyes blazing with fury. “How did they find out you were in the castle?”

Coco gasped for air, her hands clawing at his grip.

“I was being discreet, Kael… please, trust me…” she choked out, her voice strained.

"Please, kael let me go... I have a plan," She spoke in a choked voice.

Kael’s grip tightened, his face inches from hers.

“My own father is about to denounce my position and give it to Alaric. What plan can help me out here?” he snarled.

“Please… my alpha…” Coco’s voice was barely audible, but her eyes remained locked on his, unyielding.

Kael’s grip loosened, and Coco crumpled to the floor, coughing and gasping for air. She looked up at him, her eyes filled with determination.

“I have a plan that will restore your honor and destroy Alaric all together,” she said, her voice steady despite the pain.

Kael raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued.

“What plan could you have in your pocket?” he asked, his tone skeptical.

Coco stood up slowly, her eyes never leaving his.

“I have something that will help reinstate your position and give you a clean slate,” she said, a sly smile spreading across her lips.

Kael’s smirk mirrored hers as he listened to her plan. This little omega was cunning, more political than his own mother. He pulled her closer, his lips brushing against her knuckles.

“I want you to show up at the Alpha Council tomorrow,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “You should enjoy the show as well.”
