His Abandoned Luna Chapter 82

|| Lilac’s POV ||

I saw alphas, betas, and prominent figures crowding around the door, their expressions a mix of curiosity and concern. This was the next phase of their plan. Kael wanted to ruin me, to force me into a corner where I’d have no choice but to submit to him. That lunatic! But he had underestimated me.

Coco opened the door with trembling hands, her voice breaking as she cried out, “Lilac… how could you do this?”

There was a collective gasp as the lights flicked on, revealing the scene inside. My father was the first to enter, his face pale with shock. But he walked back out almost immediately, his voice firm.

“That’s not my daughter,” he said, his eyes narrowing as they fell on Coco. "Why did you take her name?"

“What’s going on here? Why are you slandering Lilac?” Alexander’s voice boomed through the room, his tone filled with anger and disbelief.

Kael stood up, his face a mask of horror as he realized what had happened. He jumped off the bed, leaving the naked figure— the omega— alone as he stammered, “Who are you? How dare you to seduce me?”

No matter what he said, the damage was done. He had been caught in the act, his infidelity exposed for all to see. It would make headlines, and his reputation would be shattered. A big time!

“Enjoying the show?” a deep voice murmured behind me, sending a shiver down my spine.

I turned to see Alaric standing there, his grey eyes glinting with amusement. I hadn’t even noticed him approach.

“A little,” I admitted, a small smile playing on my lips.

"Careful Dove," he whispered over my neck before disapearing.

I stepped into the light, my presence drawing everyone’s attention. My eyes met Kael’s, then Coco’s, and I walked to my father, my head held high. “Dad, what’s going on here?” I asked, my voice innocent but firm.

“How… how are you…” Coco stammered, her voice trailing off as she realized her plan had failed.

“What do you mean, Coco?” I asked, tilting my head as if confused.

"I thought you were in the room, resting..." she mumbled.

"Oh I just needed fresh air. But how do you know which room I was in, Coco?" I smiled innocently.

"I... I didn’t..." Coco mumbled.

"I clearly heard you said my name! Is that how lowly you think of me? I told you multiple times I had nothing to do with Kael. Why will you try to drag my name in such a mess?" Fake tears welled up as I spoke.

My father placed a protective hand on my shoulder. “Let’s go home, sweetpea. We’ve had enough of this evening.”

Alpha Asher stepped forward, his expression filled with regret. “I’m sorry, Lilac, Benson, for all this trouble. I’ll give you an explanation.”

“No need, Asher,” my father replied, his voice steady. “I know you well. You would never harm my daughter.”

As we walked away, I glanced back at the chaos one last time. Kael’s plan had backfired spectacularly, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. The game wasn’t over, but I won again.

The drive back home was quiet, the hum of the car’s engine the only sound breaking the silence. My head felt heavy, a dull ache settling behind my eyes. I hadn’t swallowed much of the drugged wine, but even the small amount that had touched my lips was enough to make me feel off. My stomach churned, and a strange heat began to spread through my body, making me restless. I leaned my head against the cool window, trying to focus on the conversation with my father.

“What an evening we had,” Dad said, his voice breaking the silence. His tone was light, but I could hear the underlying tension. He was trying to distract me, to keep me grounded.

“Yeah,” I replied, forcing a small smile. “Kael will be all over the media again.”

Dad chuckled, though there was no humor in it. “Surely he will. Many people recorded both incidents— with you and with that omega.”

I nodded, my mind drifting back to the chaos at the party. The way Kael had been caught, the way Coco had tried to frame me— it was all too much. The uneasiness in my stomach grew, and I clenched my fists, trying to steady myself.

“But when did you become so political, sweetpea?” Dad asked, his voice soft but curious. He glanced at me, his eyes filled with a mix of pride and concern.

I forced another smile, though it felt brittle on my lips. “I’m from the Royal Beta bloodline, Dad. Isn’t it my duty to look after our people?”

He nodded, his expression thoughtful. “I never thought you’d be so dedicated. Honestly, I was thinking about talking to Asher myself. I’m glad I didn’t. I couldn’t have convinced them the way you did.”

“You might have done a better job,” I huffed, trying to lighten the mood. But the heat in my body was becoming unbearable, and I shifted uncomfortably in my seat.

We pulled into the driveway, the familiar sight of our home bringing a small sense of relief. As we stepped out of the car, I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me. I steadied myself against the door, taking a deep breath before following Dad inside.

The moment we entered the house, Mom rushed toward us, her eyes wide with worry.

“What happened?” she asked, her voice frantic.
