His Abandoned Luna Chapter 148
|| Alaric’s POV ||
The meeting dragged on, the voices around me blending into a dull hum as my mind wandered. I couldn’t focus. My thoughts kept drifting back to Lilac, an uneasy feeling settling in the pit of my stomach. It was like a shadow creeping over me, a warning I couldn’t ignore. I clenched my fists under the table. Hunter stirred restlessly inside me.
'Calm down,' I said to him.
'Something’s wrong,' Hunter growled, his voice low and urgent. 'She’s in trouble.'
'She is at her father's territory. Her so-called mate is always around. He is a warrior. She should be fine,' I tried to assure him but who was I kidding.
'No, she's not. I can sense it,' Hunter pleaded.
I tried to shake the feeling, to focus on the discussion at hand, but it was of no use.
'Move, Alaric... go to her. NOW!' Hunter growled in my head.
The unease grew, sharp and insistent, until it felt like a knife twisting in my gut. Then, suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my forehead, followed by a high-pitched ringing in my ears. I winced, my hand flying to my temple as the room around me blurred.
“Alpha…” someone’s voice reached me, distant and muffled.
“Alaric!” another voice called, sharper this time.
I couldn’t make out the words, couldn’t focus on anything but the pain and the ringing. My vision swam, the faces around me fading in and out of focus, as if someone had hit me hard on my head. And then, finally, Marcus’s hand landed on my shoulder, grounding me.
“Alaric, are you okay?” he asked, his voice filled with concern.
I blinked, the pain subsiding but the unease still gnawing at me.
“Something’s wrong,” I said, my voice low and urgent. “Terribly wrong. I can feel it.”
Marcus frowned, his grip tightening on my shoulder. “What is it?”
“Lilac,” I said, the name slipping out before I could stop it. “She’s in trouble.”
"How on earth do you know?" Marcus’s eyes widened, but he didn’t question me. He knew better than to doubt my instincts. “Nevermind! What do you need me to do?”
“Postpone everything,” I said, standing abruptly. “Find out where she is. Now.”
Marcus nodded, his expression serious. “I’ll get on it.”
I stormed out of the room, my heart pounding in my chest. Every fiber of my being screamed at me to go to her, to find her and make sure she was safe. But I couldn’t. I didn’t know where to look, and charging in blindly might only put her in more danger. Hunter growled in frustration, his presence a constant, feral pressure in my mind.
'We need to find he,' he snarled, his voice filled with desperation. 'She needs us.'
“I know,” I muttered under my breath, my hands clenching into fists. “But we can’t just rush in. We need a plan.”
I paced my office, my mind a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. Marcus had left to gather information, but the wait was unbearable. Every second felt like an eternity, the weight of my helplessness pressing down on me.
'We should be out there,' Hunter growled, his voice filled with frustration. 'We should be looking for her.'
“I know,” I muttered, running a hand through my hair. “But we can’t just charge in without a plan. We don’t even know where she is.”
'She’s in danger,' Hunter insisted, his voice rising in desperation. 'We can’t just sit here and do nothing.'
“We’re not doing nothing,” I snapped, my voice sharp. “Marcus is gathering information. We’ll find her.”
But even as I said the words, I couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that had settled in my chest. Lilac was out there, alone and in danger, and I was stuck here, powerless to help her.
The door opened, and Marcus stepped in, his expression grim.
“I’ve got news,” he said, his voice low.
“Spill it.” I said, my heart pounding.
“Luna was seen heading into the woods with Elias. There was a rogue attack. Benson’s men found Elias heavily wounded, but Luna… she’s gone.”
My blood ran cold, my hands clenched into fists. “Gone?”
“Taken,” Marcus clarified, his tone heavy. “Benson’s interrogating a rogue they captured. He’s keeping it quiet for now.”
I nodded, my mind racing. “We need to find her. Now.”
“Agreed,” Marcus said. “But we need to be careful. If the rogues have her, they’ll be expecting an attack. Also we don’t know their motive yet.”
“Then we’ll give them a fight they won’t forget,” I said, my voice low and dangerous.
Hunter growled in agreement, his presence surging to the surface. 'We’ll tear them apart.'
“Gather the men,” I said, my tone firm. “We’re going after her.”
Marcus nodded, his expression serious. “No, hold on, Alaric. This might be dangerous. For her. The capturers may do something to her."
"Then what do we do? Do you just want me to sit ideal?" I punched a hole in the wall in frustration.
"We need to stay calm and be precisive. They may make some demands. If not, we locate them first. She is a blackwood. No one dares to fuck with them. Whoever is behind these, are no ordinary rogues or just normal werewolves." Marcus added.
He was right! But I was still restless.
"We will find her, and soon. We are the Nightshades, Alaric, our reach is greater than anyone's. We won't lose our Luna to some rogue attack," Marcus assured.
As he left, I turned to the window, my heart heavy with worry. My dove was out there, and I would stop at nothing to bring her back. Whoever had taken her would regret it. I would make sure of that.

|| Third Party POV ||
Benson Blackwood was in his study, his brow furrowed as he reviewed reports. The door burst open, and Albert, one of his most trusted warriors, rushed in, his expression grim.
“Benson, our men have spotted thirty unaccounted wolves in the area. We suspect they might be rogues,” Albert said, his voice urgent.
“So many of them?” Benson stood up, his chair scraping against the floor. “Where?”
“Near the eastern woods,” Albert replied. “And our men have seen Lilac going to that side of the woods with her mate.”
Benson’s blood ran cold.
“Alert everyone,” he said, his voice sharp with command. “Now.”
Albert nodded, his mind already reaching out to the other warriors through the pack link.
'LILAC... SWEETPEA,' he yelled in mindlink but no reply.
'Sweetpea are you there?' Still nothing.
Benson didn’t wait. He rushed out of the house, his heart pounding as he sprinted toward the woods. The thought of his daughter in danger was enough to make his blood boil.
By the time Benson reached the scene, it was chaos. Blood and flesh were scattered across the ground, the scent of battle thick in the air. Elias was on the ground, heavily wounded, his breathing shallow. Benson’s eyes scanned the area, his heart sinking when he realized Lilac was nowhere to be found.
“Lilac!” he shouted, his voice echoing through the trees. “Where is she?”
Elias stirred, his eyes fluttering open.
“Save her… please... they took her...” he whispered, his voice barely audible before he lost consciousness again.
Benson clenched his fists, his jaw tightening with rage. He turned to Albert, who was kneeling beside a rogue who was barely alive, heavily injured but still breathing.
“Don’t spread the news that we found one alive,” Benson said, his voice low and dangerous. “We’ll interrogate him.”
Albert nodded, his expression grim. “Understood.”
Benson’s mind raced as he surveyed the scene. His daughter was gone, taken from his territory. The thought made his blood boil, but he forced himself to stay calm. He needed to think, to plan. Whoever had taken Lilac would pay, but first, he had to find her. He needed to make sure she was unharmed.
