His Abandoned Luna Chapter 105

|| Alaric’s POV ||

Benson was still fighting, his movements strained but determined. I joined him, tearing through the rogues one by one until the forest was silent, the only sound the ragged breathing of those left standing. I shifted back to my human form, my chest heaving as I rushed to Lilac’s side.

“Lilac,” I said, my voice trembling as I gathered her in my arms. Her forehead was bleeding, her hands and throat marred by claw marks. She wasn’t healing. I knew why— her wolf was dormant, leaving her vulnerable. The thought made my chest tighten with fear.

“Dove, wake up,” I whispered, my voice shaking as I held her close. Her skin was cold, her breathing shallow. I brushed a strand of hair from her face, my heart aching at the sight of her so fragile, so broken.

“Lilac,” her father said, his voice filled with panic as he knelt beside me. “Why isn’t she healing?”

“We need to take her to a medic,” I said, my tone sharp with urgency. I didn’t have time to explain, not now. All that mattered was getting her help.

Soon, her mother and brother arrived, their faces pale with worry.

“Sweetpea,” her mother said, her voice trembling as she caressed Lilac’s hair. I didn’t like it— I didn’t like anyone touching her but me— but I held back, knowing this wasn’t the time to be possessive.

“Let’s take her home first,” Ezra said, his voice steady despite the fear in his eyes.

“I’ll carry her,” I said, standing up with Lilac in my arms. I couldn’t let her go, not even for a moment.

“No, you won’t. I can take care of my daughter,” Benson argued, his tone sharp.

“Stop it, you two,” Lyra said, her voice firm. She turned to Ezra. “Ezra, carry her to the house. And you two, dress up.”

She threw two pairs of pants at us, and I reluctantly put them on before following Ezra to the house.

As I caught up with him, I took Lilac in my arms, "you are not carrying her properly."

He didn't argue. Or maybe he did and I ignored. I couldn’t tell. My entire focus was on her.

My limbs were still trembling. I needed to keep her close. Soon we reached the house and Ezra took me to her room.

When we reached Lilac’s room, I placed her gently on the bed, my hands trembling as I brushed a strand of hair from her face. The medic arrived soon after, his expression grim as he examined her.

“What’s wrong with her? Why isn’t she healing?” Benson asked, his voice filled with panic.

“The wound on her neck looks infected. I think the rogue used wolfsbane on his claws. That slowed her healing,” the medic explained. “But don’t worry. The quantity in her blood is very small, so it won’t harm her further. I’ve given her the antidote. She’ll be up in no time.”

“Thank you,” Lyra said, her voice soft with relief.

I stayed by Lilac’s side, my hand gripping hers as I watched her sleep. If Kael was behind this, he would regret it. I would make sure of that.

“Alaric, we need to talk,” Benson said.

"There’s nothing to talk about. I am taking her to my pack. She will be safe there," I said.

"What?" Her mom looked surprised.

"She is my daughter and she is not going anywhere," Benson said.

"Yes and that's why I trusted you to take care of her. and look at her now," my blood was boiling. I know it wasn't his fault but I couldn’t help but blame. I should have been around tobtake carr of her. She was my luna, my everything.

"Enough, come with me," Benson said,

his voice firm as he led me to his study.

I followed reluctantly, my mind still on dove. When we entered the room, Benson closed the door behind us, his eyes scanning me with a mix of suspicion and gratitude.

“What relationship do you have with my daughter?” he asked, his tone sharp.

“What do you mean?” I replied, my voice calm but guarded.

“What’s the deal here? Be truthful,” Benson said, his eyes narrowing.

“There’s no deal,” I said, my tone firm. “I care about her. That’s all.”

“The way you reacted… as if she were your mate,” Benson said, his voice filled with disbelief.

Mate. The word sent a pang of longing through me. I wished she were my soulmate, but the curse on my head would never allow it. Still, that didn’t change how I felt about her.

“What if I intended to take her as my Luna?” I asked, my voice steady.

“That’s not possible,” Benson said, his jaw clenching.

“Why not?” I asked, my tone challenging.

“After all the scandals, that’s the last thing we need,” Benson replied, his voice firm.

“I’ll clean up the mess before I propose to her. Will you still disagree?” I asked, my eyes locked on his.

Benson sighed, his expression softening slightly. “I’ll leave that to Lilac. But she wants to look for her soulmate, and I’ll help her do so.”

“You do what a father has to do, and I’ll do what I can to win her,” I said, turning to leave.

“Alaric,” Benson called out, his voice stopping me in my tracks. I turned slightly, my eyes meeting his.

“Thank you,” he said, his voice filled with sincerity. “For saving my daughter.”

“I didn’t save your daughter,” I replied, my tone firm. “I saved my Luna.”

I stepped back into Lilac’s room, my heart aching at the sight of her lying so still. Ezra was there, his eyes filled with worry as he watched over her.

“So, are you two a thing now?” Ezra asked, his tone light but his eyes serious.

“What if we are?” I replied, my voice calm.

“That’ll be cool. I like you better than Kael,” he said, a small smile tugging at his lips.

I scoffed, patting his head. “Take care of your sister, pup.”

As I left the room, my mind was already racing with plans. Lilac was safe for now, but whoever had done this would pay. I would make sure of it.
