His Abandoned Luna Chapter 150

|| Benson’s POV ||

It had been a full day since Lilac went missing. A full day of searching, of interrogating, of sleepless nights and endless worry. The ceremony for Ezra was in two days, and the invitations had already been sent. The kingdom was buzzing with anticipation, but my mind was far from the celebration. My daughter was gone, taken from under my nose, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that this wasn’t just a coincidence.

The rogue Albert and I had captured hadn’t said much. He was either clueless or a ticking time bomb, trained for this mission and prepared to die without revealing anything. His life had no value—he was a pawn, a tool in someone else’s game. And that thought made my blood boil.

I drove to the Reventhorn Castle, my hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly my knuckles turned white. The castle loomed ahead, its grandeur a stark contrast to the storm raging inside me. I didn’t wait for formalities. I strode through the corridors, my footsteps echoing like thunder, until I reached Darius’s study.

Darius and Cassandra were both there. Good. I didn’t have time to waste.

“Benson,” Darius said, his tone calm but laced with concern. “I heard about Lilac.”

I ignored him, my eyes locking onto Cassandra. “Tell me the truth. Where is she?”

Cassandra blinked, her expression one of feigned innocence. “Benson, how would I know?”

“Don’t pretend or lie to me, Cassandra,” I growled, my voice low and dangerous.

“Benson, talk with respect. She is your Luna,” Darius interjected, his tone sharp.

“My Luna?” I spat, my anger boiling over. “Does she even know that herself?”

Darius stood, his eyes narrowing. “What are you accusing her of?”

“A few weeks ago, she orchestrated a rogue attack on me and threatened me. I was forced to lie about Alaric’s pack,” I said, each word heavy with accusation. “And now my daughter is missing. Tell me, Darius, do you think that’s a coincidence?”

Darius turned to Cassandra, his expression darkening. “Cassandra, is that true?”

Cassandra remained silent, her eyes darting between us.

“Answer me,” Darius growled, his voice rising.

“Yes,” she admitted finally, her voice trembling. “I did arrange for that attack, but believe me, I have nothing to do with this one.”

“How dare you!” Darius yelled, slamming his hand on the desk. “You went behind my back? You attacked our Royal Beta?”

“I did it for Kael. I did it to protect my son,” Cassandra said, her voice pleading. “But my intention was only to scare you and Lilac. I would never harm her. Trust me, Ben. I’ve watched her grow up. I would never kidnap her or harm a Blackwood.”

“Swear it on the Goddess,” Darius demanded, his voice cold.

A werewolf, especially a Luna, could never lie if they swore on the Goddess. The cost was too high—their wolf would suffer.

“You don’t trust me?” Cassandra asked, her voice shaky. Her eyes welled up.

“I know what you are capable of, Cassandra. I don't trust you,” Darius replied, his tone unyielding.

Cassandra hesitated, her hands trembling. Then, she straightened, her voice firm. “I swear on the Moon Goddess that I have nothing to do with this kidnapping. Whatever I did, I did only for my son, but I never meant any actual harm.”

Darius stared at her for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then, he gestured toward the door. “Leave now.”

Cassandra didn’t argue. She turned and left the study, her footsteps fading into the distance. Tears rolled down her cheeks.

Darius turned to me, his expression softening. “Ben, stay calm. We’ll find her.”

“It’s been a day. An entire day,” I said, sinking into a chair. My hands were shaking, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios.

“No trace yet?” Darius asked, his tone gentle.

“Nothing,” I admitted, my voice heavy with frustration. “And the ceremony is in two days.”

“Someone is deliberately trying to make your life hard,” Darius said, his brow furrowed in thought.

“I know,” I replied, my voice bitter. “But who? And why?”

Darius sighed, leaning back in his chair. “I’ll call for a meeting this evening with Alpha Asher and Daren. They’re trustworthy and might be able to help.”

“Thanks, Darius,” I said, though the words felt hollow. I appreciated his support, but it didn’t ease the gnawing fear in my chest.

“If possible, we can postpone the ceremony,” Darius offered. “I’ll come up with a reason. It won't fall on you.”

“Alright,” I said, standing to leave. My mind was already racing, trying to piece together the fragments of information I had. But the truth was, I was running out of time.

As I left the study, my thoughts turned to Lilac. My daughter, my little girl. She was out there somewhere, alone and in danger. The thought made my chest tighten, a mix of fear and rage bubbling beneath the surface.

I’ll find you, sweetpea

, I vowed silently

. No matter what it takes.

But as I walked through the castle corridors, the weight of my helplessness pressed down on me. I was the Beta of this country, a leader, but right now, I felt like a failure. My daughter was missing, and I had no idea where to start looking.

The only lead I had was the rogue we’d captured, but he wasn’t talking. Elias was still in the healing center. Apparently he was harmed by wolfsbane. He was almost unconscious, barely talking, or eating. I needed answers, and I needed them fast. The ceremony was in two days, and if I didn’t find Lilac by then, I didn’t know what I’d do.
