His Abandoned Luna Chapter 104
|| Lilac’s POV ||
The world turned upside down as the car flipped, the sound of crunching metal and shattering glass filling the air. My head slammed against the window, pain exploding behind my eyes. The car skidded to a stop, smoke rising from the hood as the alarms blared.
“Lilac!” my father’s voice cut through the chaos. He kicked open his door, his movements quick and precise as he climbed out of the wreckage. “Jump!”
I fumbled with my seatbelt, my hands shaking as I tried to open the door. The car was on fire, the heat searing my skin as I struggled to crawl out. My vision blurred, my head throbbing as I finally tumbled onto the road.
“Lilac, run!” my father yelled, his voice strained as he faced off against the rogues who had surrounded us. There were more than ten of them, their eyes glowing with malice as they closed in.
I tried to stand, but my legs gave out beneath me. My wolf was silent, leaving me defenseless. I felt useless, helpless, as I watched my father fight, his movements swift but strained. He was heavily outnumbered, and it was only a matter of time before they overwhelmed him.
“Catch her!” one of the rogues barked, his eyes locking onto me.
“Sweetpea, run!” my father shouted, his voice desperate as he fought to keep the rogues at bay.
I scrambled to my feet, my heart pounding as I stumbled backward. My hand closed around a piece of broken metal from the car, and I swung it at the rogue who lunged at me. The metal bent against his hand, barely making a dent. He smirked, his eyes filled with cruel amusement as he advanced.
I stepped back, my back hitting the truck as the rogue grabbed me by the throat. His grip was like iron, cutting off my air as he lifted me off the ground. I clawed at his hand, my vision darkening as I struggled to breathe.
This is it, I thought, my mind racing.
This is the end. My wolf was gone, and without her, I was nothing. I couldn’t protect my father, couldn’t stop Kael, couldn’t save myself. The Goddess’s words echoed in my mind. Was this the price for defying her? For not finding my mate?
My thoughts turned to Alaric, his sharp grey eyes, his quiet strength. If only he were here. If only I had one more chance too see his face.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered, my voice barely audible as tears streamed down my face. “I couldn’t stop Kael. I couldn’t save you, Dad. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Alaric. If there’s another chance… maybe I’ll ask the Goddess to give you as my soulmate.”
The rogue’s grip tightened, and I closed my eyes, ready to let go. But then, the air shifted. A low growl reverberated through the forest, sending a chill down my spine. Suddenly the rogue’s grip loosened, and I fell to the ground, gasping for air.
My vision blurred, but I could make out a massive midnight-black wolf stalking toward me, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. The rogues froze, their faces pale with fear as the wolf let out a bone-chilling snarl.
“Hunter…” I whispered, my voice weak as I reached out towards the wolf. “My dad…”
But before I could say more, everything went black.

|| Alaric’s POV ||
The council room was a cacophony of voices, each one louder and more accusatory than the last. The air was thick with tension, the weight of Kael’s lies pressing down on everyone. But as I stood there, my sharp grey eyes scanning the room, I felt a sudden unease settle in my chest. Something wasn’t right. My instincts screamed at me, a primal urge to move, to act. And then it hit me— Lilac. She wasn’t safe.
“Where are you going?” Marcus asked, his voice sharp as I turned to leave.
“I have to make sure Lilac is safe,” I said, my tone leaving no room for argument. “You stay back and handle the situation.”
Marcus nodded, his expression grim. “Understood, Alpha.”
I didn’t wait for further questions. I strode out of the council room, my mind racing as I made my way to my car. The moment I drove away from the city limits, my heart started to race. Something was definitely wrong. I could feel it in my bones, a deep, gnawing dread that refused to be ignored.
'Faster… Lilac needs us,' Hunter growled in my head, his voice urgent.
'I’m going way above the speed limit already,' I replied, my hands tightening on the steering wheel.
'This isn’t enough. Let me take control. We need to move faster,' he urged, his growl reverberating in my chest.
'Stay calm. We don’t even know what to expect,' I said, though my own anxiety was growing by the second.
Suddenly, a burning sensation flared on my forehead, sharp and fleeting. I winced, my grip on the wheel faltering for a moment. What the hell was that? Before I could process it, pain shot through my hands, my throat, as if I were being strangled. My vision blurred, and for a moment, I felt like I was drowning.
'Hunter,' I thought, my voice desperate. 'What’s happening?'
'She’s in danger,' Hunter growled, his voice filled with rage. 'Let me take control.'
I didn’t argue. I pulled the car over, the tires screeching as I came to a stop. The moment my feet hit the ground, I shifted, my body contorting as Hunter took over. The world blurred around me as I ran, my powerful legs carrying me through the woods at breakneck speed. The forest was a blur of shadows and light, the scent of pine and earth filling my nostrils. But all I could focus on was Lilac. Her scent, her fear, her pain.
When I finally reached her, my heart clenched at the sight. She was on the ground, a rogue’s hand wrapped around her throat, her face pale and her eyes wide with fear. Rage surged through me, and I charged at the rogue, my teeth sinking into his throat before he even had a chance to react. He fell to the ground, lifeless, and I turned to the others, my growl echoing through the forest.
