|| Third Party POV ||

Then, with deliberate slowness, Coco began moving toward Agatha. Each step sent tremors through the earth, her black boots crushing fallen lilies beneath them.

“Yes... Mother,” Coco murmured, her voice oddly flat.

Alaric tensed, his muscles coiling to spring - but Ezra’s hand on his arm held him back. The royal beta’s eyes were narrowed, his nostrils flaring as he studied Coco’s posture. Something wasn’t right.

Agatha’s smile widened as Coco drew nearer. “My loyal child. My perfect vessel. Together we’ll—”

The words died in her throat as Coco’s free hand shot out, fingers like steel bands closing around Agatha’s neck. With terrifying strength, she slammed the witch queen against the crumbling stone altar, making the ancient runes flare to life.

“Co-Coco?!” Agatha’s eyes bulged, her manicured nails scrabbling uselessly at the hand choking her. “What are you—”

“Sorry, Agatha,” Coco purred, her voice shifting, deepening into something familiar. “I’m not your daughter tonight.”

As the blood moon’s light reached its peak, Coco’s form began to melt away like wax. Her raven hair lightened to rich brown, her features reshaping themselves before the witches’ horrified eyes. The last of the glamour dissolved to reveal—

Lilac.

Ezra moved like lightning, scooping Aurora from her mother’s arms as Alaric drove his fist into Agatha’s stomach. The witch doubled over with a wet gasp, black blood spraying from her lips.

“What... how?!” Agatha wheezed, her perfect silver hair now tangled and wild.

Lilac leaned down, her lips brushing Agatha’s ear as she whispered, “Endora’s little trick. A glamour within a glamour.” She held up her boot, where the remnants of a shattered vial glimmered. “You really should have checked your prisoner more thoroughly.”

Around them, the remaining witches froze as the truth became clear. Their queen had been outplayed. Their ritual was in ruins.

And the Nightshades were far from finished.

|| Lilac’s POV ||

The moment Coco shoved me into that bone-lined chamber, I felt the potion in my boot grow warm against my skin— as if Endora’s magic knew it was time.

Coco didn’t see it coming.

One second she was smirking, her black braid swinging as she turned to leave— the next, I was on her. My chains caught her across the throat as I lunged, using every ounce of strength I’d hoarded these past days. She gasped, stumbling back, and that’s when I struck— my nails raking down her arm hard enough to draw blood.

A single drop. That’s all I needed.

I caught it on my finger, mixing it with the vial’s contents in one fluid motion before downing the bitter liquid. The change was instant.

Coco’s eyes widened as my hair darkened, my features shifting into a mirror of her own face. “How...?” Her knees buckled— her own blood in the potion weakening her.

I didn’t answer. The silver cuffs that had bound me now clicked around her wrists.

“Why are you doing this?” Coco whimpered as I sank my teeth into her neck, the coppery taste of her blood flooding my mouth. “Is this still about Kael?”

I bit deeper, feeling her pulse flutter against my tongue.

“You hurt Endora,” I snarled, spitting her blood onto the stone. “You threatened my mate. You touched my child.” The second vial— thick with wolfsbane and Rosemary— I poured down her throat as she choked. “There’s no forgiveness for that. Besides, I am giving your soul freedom. You should be thankful.”

When I slammed the cell door shut, she was already convulsing, black veins spreading from the wound on her neck. I didn’t look back.

The fight aboveground was chaos, but I moved through it like a shadow— Coco’s face became my mask, her scent was my shield.

Agatha never suspected.

Not when I approached with Aurora in my arms. Not when I let her gloat, her silver hair gleaming in the blood moon’s light.

Not until my fingers closed around her throat.

My grip tightened around Agatha and Alaric took charges.

The only way to Agatha was through Coco. I had to take that risk. I knew Coco would look for a moment to get free and I created it for her.

I left a letter for him, with Coco’s scent and asked him to follow us. On our way here, I deliberately bled myself to leave my scent, my mark everywhere. I knew he would find me. and he did, right in time.

“Any last words?” I whispered as Alaric’s claw found her heart.

“You can’t win,” she rasped, black blood bubbling at her lips. “this is not supposed to end like that...” Agatha kept muttering.

“My ancestors... she cursed your bloodline in hope that the curse will spread across the entire werewolf realm.. You cannot break it... You can’t.. I supposed to get a new vessel and unlimited powers...," she kept saying.

Alaric’s growl vibrated through me as we struck as one— his claw through her ribs, my claws through her neck.

Her head hit the ground with a wet thud, those violet eyes still wide with shock. Finally her heart stopped.

Aurora’s wails were the sweetest sound I’d ever heard. She smelled of milk and innocence, untouched by the horrors of this night.

The witches surrendered and ran away. I looked at Alaric and he looked back at me.

“Dove, didn’t I tell you not to put yourself in danger? And how on earth did you get back your memories?” He yelled.

I smiled as I hugged him, “can’t promise if it’s you or our daughter in the line.”

“It’s over. Finally it’s over,” Alaric hugged me back. his grip tightened.

“Yeah... hopefully we won’t have to deal with the witches at least for another century or so,” Alexander said. He looked exhausted too.

“Speaking of which, where is Coco?” Ezra asked, trying to stop the crying Aurora.

“Underground, in a tunnel. I doubt she will survive,” I said.

“Better we take a look. I don’t want to leave a loose end,” Alexander said.

Ezra handed me.over Aurora as he said, “I am coming too.”

But as I watched my mate and brother stride toward the tunnels, I knew—no matter what they found, tonight we’d won more than a battle.
