His Abandoned Luna Chapter 113
|| Lilac’s POV ||
We sat down, and the conversation around the table was stilted, the tension palpable. I picked at my food, my appetite gone, as the others exchanged uneasy glances. Alaric tried to lighten the mood, asking Garry about the latest patrol reports, but even his efforts fell flat.
As we ate, Alaric suddenly stiffened, his eyes glazing over as he received a mindlink. He excused himself with a quick,
“I’ll be right back,” before striding out of the diner, leaving me alone with the others.
The moment he was gone, Elizabeth turned to me, her eyes blazing.
“So, why are you here?” she asked, her voice sharp and accusatory.
I blinked, caught off guard. “What do you mean?”
“Are you here to spy on him? Haven’t you done enough damage?” Elizabeth snapped, her tone dripping with venom.
I set my spoon down, my hands trembling.
“I will never harm him,” I said, my voice steady despite the storm raging inside me.
Elizabeth scoffed, leaning back in her chair. “Oh, save it. You never paid attention to Alaric before. It was always Kael. The moment Kael set you aside, you jumped into the bed of his brother. It seems like you can’t survive without a Reventhorn.”
Her words were like a slap to the face, and I felt the blood drain from my cheeks. The other pack members turned to watch, their eyes filled with judgment and disdain.
“You misunderstand me,” I said, standing up. My voice was calm, but my heart was pounding.
Elizabeth stood as well, her eyes narrowing.
“Oh, really? Then why are you here? Just a coincidence?” she sneered.
I took a deep breath, trying to keep my composure. “I’m here because I care about Alaric. Because I want to help him.”
Elizabeth laughed, a harsh, bitter sound. “Your father and Kael planned together to push Alaric into this situation, and then they sent you here to check on any resolve we come up with, didn’t they? You can fool the Alpha, but you can’t fool me.”
Her words echoed through the diner, and I felt the weight of everyone’s stares. My chest tightened, and I turned to leave, unable to bear the accusations any longer.
“Of course you don’t have anything to say,” Elizabeth called after me, her voice rising. “The Alpha saved you and your father, and the moment he turned his back, you stabbed him with a silver knife. That’s the Blackwood way, isn’t it?”
The whispers started as I walked out of the diner, the pack members’ voices low but filled with venom. I couldn’t blame them. It wasn’t Elizabeth’s fault entirely— my father had lied, and all this mess had been created around me.

I returned to the diner to find Lilac gone and the room buzzing with tension. Elizabeth stood near the table, her arms crossed and her expression smug. The warriors looked uneasy, their eyes darting between me and Elizabeth.
“Where’s Lilac?” I asked, my voice low and dangerous.
Elizabeth shrugged, her tone casual but her eyes defiant. “She left. Couldn’t handle a little truth, I guess.”
I stepped closer, my wolf growling in my head. “What did you say to her?”
Elizabeth met my gaze, unflinching. “I just asked her why she’s here. Seems suspicious, don’t you think? Her father throws you under the bus, and then she shows up out of nowhere, playing the concerned Luna.”
I clenched my fists, my patience wearing thin. “Lilac is not her father. And she’s here because she cares about this pack. About me.”
Elizabeth snorted, her lips curling into a sneer. “You’re blinded by her, Alaric. She’s using you, just like her father and Kael are. Besides, should you at least try to look for your soul mate? You suddenly brought that woman to the pack and declared her as your luna. Have you ever considered how the pack feels about it? You are our alpha. The Nightshades fate depends on you. You are supposed to find your true mate and break the curse and take over the throne. That has been the goal for every single Alpha we had before you in Blood Moon. What are you doing, Alaric? You didn't even try to look for your soulmate.”
I took a step closer, my voice a low growl. “Enough. You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Elizabeth’s eyes narrowed, but she didn’t back down. “I’m just looking out for the pack. Someone has to.”
I turned to the others, my gaze sweeping across the room. “Lilac is my Luna. She’s here to help us, and I won’t tolerate anyone disrespecting her. Is that clear?”
The pack members nodded, their expressions wary but obedient. Elizabeth, however, remained silent, her eyes burning with defiance.
I left the diner, my mind racing as I searched for Lilac. I found her outside, sitting on a bench under the moonlight. Her shoulders were hunched, her face pale and drawn.
“Lilac,” I said softly, sitting beside her.
She looked up, her eyes filled with tears. “I’m sorry, Alaric. I didn’t mean to cause trouble.”
I pulled her into my arms, holding her tightly. “You didn’t. Elizabeth was out of line, and I’ll make sure she knows it.”
Lilac shook her head, her voice trembling. “She’s not entirely wrong. My father lied, and now everyone thinks I’m here to spy on you.”
I cupped her face in my hands, my eyes locking onto hers. “I don’t care what anyone thinks. I know you, dove. I know your heart. And that’s all that matters.”
She leaned into me, her tears soaking into my shirt. “I just want to help you, Alaric. I don’t want you to suffer. I can't even bear the thought of you in pain.”
“I won’t,” I promised, my voice firm. “We’ll get through this together. No matter what.”
