His Abandoned Luna Chapter 154
|| Lilac’s POV ||
Alaric carried me into my room, his arms steady despite the blood that stained both of us. My clothes were torn, my skin smeared with dirt and dried blood, and his hair was disheveled, his face etched with exhaustion and worry. But the closeness, his scent, everything helped me to calm my nerves. He set me down gently on my bed, his touch careful, as if I might break. I clung to him, my fingers digging into his shirt, my body trembling with the aftershocks of fear.
“Let me get you clean,” my mom said softly, stepping forward with a damp cloth in her hands. But I shook my head, my grip on Alaric tightening.
“No… please don’t leave,” I whispered, my voice trembling. The thought of him walking away, even for a moment, sent a fresh wave of panic through me. What if they came back? What if I was taken again? What if they try to...
“I’m not leaving you,” Alaric said, his voice steady and firm. He sat on the edge of the bed, pulling me closer as I leaned into his chest. His scent—pinewoods, was soothing, a balm to my racing heart. He kissed my temple, his lips warm against my skin. “I’m here. Right here, dove.”
My dad stepped into the room, his expression a mix of concern and frustration.
“What is happening here? What is your relationship with my daughter?” he demanded, his voice sharp.
“This isn’t right. She has a soulmate,” my mom added, her tone laced with worry.
Alaric’s jaw tightened, his eyes flashing with anger.
“Does she now? Then where is he? Isn’t he a classified warrior? How on earth was he taken down by rogues? This was his job. His goddamn job!” His voice rose, the frustration and rage he’d been holding back finally breaking through.
“But still—” my mom began, but I cut her off.
“I don’t feel it,” I said, my voice trembling as tears streamed down my face. “I don’t feel the bond with Elias. Not like the way I feel toward Alaric…” I sobbed, my body shaking as the weight of everything crashed down on me.
“Calm down, everyone,” Alexander said, stepping forward. His presence was steady, his voice calm but firm. “Let’s take a breath and talk about it.”
“What is going on?” my dad asked, his eyes darting between me and Alaric. I looked around the room—my mom, my dad, Alaric, Alexander. These were people I trusted, people I knew would protect me. Maybe it was time to tell them the truth. They deserved to know.
“Okay,” I said, taking a shaky breath. “I’ll tell you the truth. But you have to promise that the secret doesn’t go out of this room.”
“What is it, sweetpea?” my mom asked, her voice soft but filled with concern.
I swallowed hard, my heart pounding as I prepared to say the words I’d been holding back for so long. “I… I had a vision. I met the goddess herself. In my vision, I mated with Kael, helped him become the king, but then, Coco showed up in his life. He denounced Ezra to live like a rogue, killed all our trusted warriors, and in the end, he killed us all. Then suddenly, I was back again on the night when Luna Cassandra chose me as Kael’s mate.” The words spilled out in one breath, my chest heaving as I finished.
The room fell silent, the weight of my confession hanging heavy in the air. My mom’s eyes widened, her hand flying to her mouth. My dad stared at me, his expression unreadable. Alexander’s brow furrowed, his mind clearly racing to process what I’d just said. Alaric’s grip on me tightened, his presence a steady anchor amidst the storm.
I couldn’t tell them the whole truth that it wasn’t a vision, but my life story. So I twisted the truth a little.
“What are you saying?” my mom asked, her voice shaking.
“So you did… all of that because you had a vision?” Dad asked.
“I know you might think I’m crazy, but I’m not lying. I swear to the Goddess,” I said, my voice trembling but firm.
“This… I don’t know what to say,” Alexander said, his voice filled with disbelief.
My dad was silent, his eyes locked on me, his expression a mix of shock and confusion, “most of the time she was right. Ezra would have been banished by now if she didn’t have acted on time.”
“Yeah, and the Coco situation… could have been worse if you were engaged already,” mom said.
“I trust you,” Alaric said suddenly, his voice low but filled with conviction. “I don’t know how or why, but I believe you.”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I continued. “After the vision, Runa was gone. I mean, she was there, but I couldn’t shift or talk to her.”
“And that’s why you didn’t fight back during the rogue attack,” my dad murmured, his voice heavy with realization.
“Yes, I couldn’t. It wasn’t the wolfsbane— it was Runa. That’s why I wasn’t healing,” I said, my voice breaking. “Then, in my vision, Kael helped you to mate with Astrid. You can confirm it with her. That’s why he came to your pack. Later, you found Madeline. Moonvale was a mess. You had to reject her, which left you vulnerable as well.”
“That’s why you brought Madeline to the pack,” Alexander said, his voice filled with understanding.
“Yes, and I asked you to stand in the election. But now… the future is shifting. It doesn’t match with the vision anymore,” I mumbled, my voice barely above a whisper.
" I didn’t know what to do. Then I had another vision from the goddess. She asked me to find my soul mate and rise to the throne.” I said.
“And there lies the problem. we don’t even know if Elias is her soulmate,” Alexander sighed.
“What!” Dad gasped.
“I heard Runa saying mate at the ceremony but I didn’t feel the pull. Also it was vague...” I described what Madeline told me.
“Which means her wolf could have indicated someone else as her mate and not Elias,” Alexander explained.
“But then Elias was the only one who accepted me as his mate. So this makes things complicated,” I said.
“Also it made no sense. why would the goddess ask me to help a warrior become a king?“I added.
The room fell in silence.
“A lot makes sense now. the way your heart changed suddenly for Kael. The way you acted, as if you were suddenly all grown up.” Mom cried.
“Oh, sweetpea,” my mom said, her voice filled with heartbreak. She stepped forward, wrapping her arms around me. “I’m so sorry you had to go through so much.”
“I’m fine, Mom,” I said, though my voice trembled. “I’m just worried that we’re all walking to our doom.”
“No,” Alaric said, his voice firm and filled with determination. His grip around me tightened, his presence a comforting weight. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”
