|| Lilac's POV ||

The tension in the room thickened, but I pressed on. “I came here with a proposition tonight— for you, Alexander.”

Alexander’s brow furrowed, his expression shifting from concern to curiosity.

“A proposition?” he asked, his tone cautious.

I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. This was it. The moment I had been planning for. “I would like you to stand for the election of Alpha King.”

The room erupted into murmurs, the weight of my words sinking in. Alpha Asher was the first to speak, his voice deep and measured. “That’s a big decision, Lilac. What makes you think Alexander is the right candidate?”

I took a step forward, my gaze sweeping over the room. “As we all can see, Kael is emotionally unstable. His actions tonight— and in the past, prove that he’s not fit to lead. And his mate, Coco… I’m not sure what’s going on there, but it’s clear they’re not working together for the good of the pack. The way Kael reacts to situations, the way he manipulates and deceives… he’s not capable of performing his duties as Alpha King.”

I paused, letting my words sink in before continuing. “And let’s be honest— we don’t have many eligible candidates. But we all know how Alexander works. He’s more than capable. He’s fair, just, and he has the respect of the packs.”

Astrid nodded, her golden hair catching the light as she spoke. “She has a point, you know. Kael has caused too many issues. I agree with Lilac.”

Alpha Daren stepped forward, his expression thoughtful. “I agree as well. Kael’s behavior is unacceptable, and we need someone strong to lead us. Alexander is the obvious choice.”

I turned to Alpha Asher, my voice firm but respectful. “I know this may sound like a personal vendetta, but please look at the bigger picture. We have rogues walking among us— rogues who have scents, who have even learned to hide their tattoos. And Kael used one of them to spy on my brother. This is a huge issue for our entire world, and we need someone like Alexander to take charge. The current Alpha King isn’t addressing it seriously, and we can’t afford to wait any longer.”

My father nodded, his expression grim. “This is indeed an issue. The Alpha King has been neglecting it for too long.”

Alexander sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I understand the urgency, but our territory is already a lot to handle. Taking on the role of Alpha King… it’s a huge responsibility.”

I stepped closer to him, my voice soft but insistent. “I know it’s a lot, but you don’t have to do it alone. You have Madeline now. She’s more than capable of helping you take care of the pack.”

Madeline smiled shyly, her cheeks flushing.

“Well, I know a thing or two about pack business,” she said, her voice warm.

“And she can learn the rest from Luna Alyna,” I added, glancing at Alexander’s mother. She stepped forward, her expression kind but determined.

“Of course, dear,” Luna Alyna said, taking Madeline’s hands in hers. “I’ll help you every step of the way.”

I turned back to Alpha Asher, my voice filled with conviction. “And you can help him too. My father will be there, and my entire family will support you. We’ll stand by you, Alexander. You won’t be alone in this.”

Alpha Asher nodded, his expression thoughtful. “Yes, that’s feasible. If we all work together, we can make this happen.”

My father stepped forward, his voice firm. “You have my word. The Blackwoods will stand with you.”

Alpha Daren smiled, his eyes filled with pride. “Moonvale will stand with you too. After all, our pack’s daughter will be your Luna, Alexander.”

Alexander looked at me, a small smile playing on his lips. “You came here with a full-proof plan, didn’t you?”

I shrugged, a faint smile tugging at my lips. “I had to. This is too important to leave to chance.”

He sighed, his shoulders relaxing as he made his decision. “Alright, I’ll do it.”

Relief flooded through me, and I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. My plan had worked. Alexander was on board.

But then he looked at me, his expression serious. “Lilac, you’re more like a queen material than I can ever be a king.”

I shook my head, my smile genuine. “I have no intention of fighting you for the throne.”

Madeline stepped forward, her voice soft but firm. “You never have to fight, Lilac. If the situation arises, Alexander and I will step down happily… any day, any time. We’ll always support you.”

Her words touched me, and I felt a surge of gratitude. Though I had only known her for a short time, I liked her. I felt I could trust her.

“I hope that day never comes,” I whispered, my voice filled with sincerity. And I meant it. Alexander would make a wonderful king. I was sure of it.

As the meeting ended and everyone began to disperse, I felt a sense of accomplishment. The plan was in motion, and for the first time in a long time, I felt hopeful. But as I stepped out of the room, my thoughts turned to Alaric. His face kept popping into my head, his grey eyes haunting me even in my moments of triumph.

I sighed, pushing the thoughts aside. There was still so much to do, so many battles to fight. But for now, I allowed myself a small moment of victory. The game was far from over, but I was ready to play.
