His Abandoned Luna Chapter 47
|| Lilac’s POV ||
I found myself standing in a place that defied all logic, a realm so breathtakingly beautiful that it felt like a dream. The air was thick with the scent of blooming flowers, their petals shimmering in hues of gold and silver. The sky above was a canvas of swirling colors, that seemed to pulse with life. Beneath my feet, the ground was covered in soft, glowing moss that sparkled like stardust. Trees with golden leaves swayed gently in a breeze that carried the faint sound of distant chimes. It was a place of pure serenity, a sanctuary untouched by the chaos of the world.
In the center of this divine landscape stood a woman. She was ethereal, her presence radiating a warmth that enveloped me like a comforting embrace. Her hair cascaded down her back in waves of silver, each strand glowing faintly as if kissed by moonlight. Her eyes were pools of endless depth, filled with wisdom and kindness. She wore a flowing gown that seemed to be made of the night sky itself, dotted with tiny stars that twinkled as she moved. Who was she?
Beside her lay a golden-brown wolf, its fur matted and its breathing shallow. My heart clenched as I recognized her. Runa. My wolf. She looked so weak, so fragile, as if she were clinging to life by a thread. I rushed to her, dropping to my knees and gently lifting her head onto my lap. My fingers trembled as I caressed her fur, my throat tightening with emotion.
“Oh, Runa,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “What happened to you?”
The woman stepped closer, her movements graceful and unhurried.
“I have been waiting to connect with you, my child,” she said, her voice soft and melodic, like the whisper of the wind through the trees.
I looked up at her, tears streaming down my face. “But I couldn’t before, as your wolf is weak,” she added, her gaze filled with compassion.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Selene. You know me as the Moon Goddess," she replied and I gasped.
“Then how did you connect with me now?” I asked, my voice trembling.
“Because you came here, to this sacred territory,” she explained, her tone gentle. “Everything around you is connected to nature, and everything in nature is connected to me. So, I was able to reach out to your soul.”
I bowed my head, a wave of gratitude washing over me. “Thank you, Goddess, for giving me a second chance,” I said, my voice filled with reverence.
She smiled, but there was a sadness in her eyes. “I didn’t bring you back for mere revenge, my child. There is more to it.”
Her words caught me off guard, and I stared at her, my heart pounding.
“What do you mean?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
“After your death, the entire kingdom fell apart,” she said, her tone heavy with sorrow. “A series of event happened. The werewolf packs were slaughtered, including the Nightshades. Only the rogues remained, and they collaborated with the witches, destroying all my creations. Every single event started from your death, so I brought you back. You must restructure the future. You hold the fate of all werewolves in you hands.”
I gasped, my mind reeling. I had never thought about the consequences of my death, never imagined that it could have led to such devastation. The weight of her words pressed down on me, filling me with a sense of responsibility I hadn’t felt before.
“What should I do then?” I asked, my voice trembling as I stared at Runa, her weak form a painful reminder of my own vulnerability.
“You must find your soulmate, Lilac, and you must ascend the throne,” the Goddess said, her voice firm but kind. “That is your destiny.”
I shook my head, panic rising in my chest.
“How? My wolf… she’s dormant. Look at her!” I cried, my voice breaking. “Without her, how can I find my mate? This is ridiculous!”
The Goddess’s expression softened, and she knelt beside me, her hand resting gently on my shoulder. “I know it’s difficult, my child. Your rebirth caused her this pain. She will recover only when you find your true mate.”
“But how?” I asked, my voice filled with desperation. “Without my wolf, how will I know who my mate is?”
“You must find a way,” she said, her voice steady. “Listen to your heart, my child. It will guide you.”
Her words were comforting, but they did little to ease the fear gnawing at me.
“Time is running out, Lilac,” she added, her tone urgent. “If you don’t find your mate and ascend the throne soon, you will live the same fate again. Everyone you love will be slaughtered, and after your death, the fall will come to the werewolves.”
Her words hung in the air, heavy and foreboding. I opened my mouth to respond, but before I could, the Goddess began to fade, her form dissolving into shimmering light.
“No, don’t go… please wait!” I urged, reaching out to her, but she was already gone.
I woke up, my body drenched in sweat and my heart pounding in my chest. The room was dark, the only light coming from the soft glow of the dawn through the window. I was in Alaric’s arms, his strong frame a comforting presence beside me. His breathing was steady, his warmth a stark contrast to the cold fear that had gripped me in my dream.
I lay there for a moment, trying to calm my racing heart. The Moon Goddess’s words echoed in my mind, filling me with a sense of urgency I couldn’t ignore. I had to find my mate. I had to ascend the throne. But how? Without Runa, I felt lost, adrift in a sea of uncertainty.
