“I will not leave my cousin in this hellhole, and I need to find out if Shawna got out or if she’s still in there too.” I yelled at Makahi, who was asking me to leave out of the rift. “Baby, we have got to get to the rift is about to close if we don’t get out of there now, we will be stuck in her with the babies we have to get the girls to safety. I know you’re hurting but you heard what Rimmy said, Mina is more than likely." I cut him right off before he finished that stupid ass sentence. “I swear, Makahi, if you say what I think you’re going to say I will cut your fucking throat she is not dead, I would know it, I would feel it if they were... Mina and Shawna are out there somewhere, and we have to find her. I will not rest until I find them.

You can take the girls to safety, and I will stay and look for a way to get back there.” I said, determined to find Mina and Shawna. “No, you will not stay here. But the only problem is, we will only have a few months before the rift is lost forever.” Mylan said, looking at Me and Lynn waiting for an answer.

“Lahni, that sounds like our best bet. We need to get the girls safe, then we can leave to hunt for the rift again. Mina and Shawna would not want us to be stuck here with them with no way out.” Lynn said, with tears falling from her eyes. I knew she was right but, I didn’t know if I could do it. Mina and Shawna were all I had left in this world. I didn’t know if I could do any of this crazy shit without them. But it looked like I would have no choice. I turned back to where the entrance once was and made a promise. “I will find yall. I promise!” I said, entering through the rift, not even afraid anymore, I was numb. Once we made it through to the other side. Makahi came and put his arms around me. It’s going to be OK baby. I will do everything in my power to find your family, I promise.” Makahi said, kissing the top of my head. Tru took the opportunity to grab one of my braids and tried to put it in her mouth. We both laughed, hugging our girls, finally having them back with us where we belong.
