My heart was relieved, I hated thinking that they could ever be afraid of me. “It wasn’t you that made them cry to begin with it was me.” Maka said sadly. “I don’t think they’re scared of you either we were worried for nothing they’re our pups and they know we would never hurt them. I reassured Maka and allowed him to come forward. Teri Paused for a second and I could feel Maka’s sadness at the thought she might actually cry. But she passed gas then tried to reach for my eyes trying to kiss them I can only assume that’s her way of kissing Maka, and he growled lowly, and she stopped and let out a little growl trying to imitate him. We all burst out laughing at the fact that they were truly remarkable, they are already so much smarter than the average pups. Most don’t growl at all until their first shift, but my pups were growling and using their aura.

Tru cried squirming until mom put her in my free hand and I sat on the couch opposite them. “So, son what brings you by?” My dad asked. I know he knows about earlier; his old beta was in the dining hall this morning as well as my mother’s old Gamma. “Dad I’m sure you have already heard about what happened in the dining hall earlier. I said sitting the girls face forward on my lap allowing them to try and eat my fingers they have really strong gums when they get teeth, they are going to break skin.

“Yea we both heard what happened, but we want to hear it from you. “Dad, I don’t know how much longer I can take this thing with Ji’lahni has got me all twisted into knots. I just can’t understand how we are still so connected with Summer wearing my mark. Then when I saw Uncle Felix’s beta touch her Maka lost it and took complete control which has never happen I think he is going feral being so close to Ji’lahni’s and not being able to mate and mark her is making him crazy and I don’t know how to fix it without hurt or even worse killing Summer and the pup she’s carrying. I said as the girls started to nod off in my arms my mom immediately cleaned out their crib that sat in the corner which I just noticed shaking my head smiling. “What?” My mom asked shrugging her shoulders.

“Really mom a crib in the living room.” “I swear you really can’t stay out our business, yes we have a crib in the living and their room that use to be yours, but I will be redecorating it into the girls' room I have already ordered purple and pink everything.” she said excitedly. “Hey, you’re giving them my room so where will you put my stuff.” I asked, shocked. “Well honey that is a you problem. I will give you thirty days to move your things before we have an alpha yard sale which all money’s will go to buying the babies a playground in the backyard that your father wants to build for the girls.” She said excitedly and my dad was sitting there nodding his head proudly.

I give up my pups will be so spoiled that they will not even want to stay with me and Ji’lahni. The picture that popped into my head made my heartbeat faster, breaking me out of my thoughts. “Son you may have no choice but to make a choice and risk it. I understand you do not want to hurt Summer, but you have to think of the good of the pack. We can’t have our alpha going feral it will open us up to attack and put the lives of us all in danger.” My father said in all seriousness. Sighing because he just spoke the words I didn’t want to say.

“I know dad. I’m going to tell Ji’lahni everything and see where we stand and then I’m going to the office and read over the binders with the translated text. Once I have gone through then I will make my decision. By the way mom have your witch friend ever got back to you?” I asked my mother. “You know what son she hasn’t which is strange we haven’t spoken in years, but I haven’t heard anything happening to her. We spoke a few times after the vampire war years ago. But lost touch but I can’t seem to find her anywhere.” She said truly puzzled. It was the war that took many werewolves' lives, one being Shadow’s mate that was a challenging time he barely made it through it. Most wolves would have simply died with their mate or go rogue, but Shadow disappeared for two years and came back the silent cold killer he is now well until Shawna that is.

There was a lite knock on the door. “I’ll get it.” I said as my mother busied herself cleaning the living room while the pups napped. Walking to the door my heart stopped at the sight of Ji’lahni she was so fucking beautiful her milk chocolate skin and her bright blue eyes. She had on a short black summer dress that exposed her milk chocolate breast and flared out mid-thigh. I frowned a little wondering did she walked here with that on. Her knocking again snapped me out of my thoughts I quickly opened the door, and she spotted me and gasped out of shock. “Sorry I didn’t mean to startle you." I said nervously like a schoolboy.

“No, no I just wasn’t expecting you to answer the door that’s all. I came to pick you the twins.” she said breathlessly. “Oh, I’m sorry come in they are taking a nap now.” “Oh, I was trying to get her before they crashed. Maybe I should just come back later or if you’re going to be here maybe you can just drop them off.” She said backing away getting ready to turn and leave. “No wait!” I said in a rush grabbing her hand to stop her. The electric tingles made both jump back. We looked at each other in a trance.

“I really wanted to tell you there are some things I need to tell you and I wanted to clear the air between us. So can you please stay so we can talk at least until the pups wake up from their naps.” I asked pleadingly. Holding my breath waiting for her answer. She nodded and I let out a big sigh of relief. “Actually, there something I need to tell you as well.” she said, as she followed me into the living room. I stopped abruptly at her words wondering if what she has to tell me is that she is in love with the beta and wants to be with him. Stop it, don’t jump to conclusions. Taking a deep breath, I went into the living room and the girls were sleeping peacefully and my parents must have heard me ask to talk to her because they had cleared out leaving us alone.

“Letting her sit first. I was surprised she didn’t sit in the single chair so as to not be close to me. She sat on the loveseat. I moved to sit next to her, and our legs touched and this time the sparks were expected. “Look Ji’lahni I want to apologize about earlier I wish I could tell you that it was a mistake, but I refuse to lie to you. It’s a part of our DNA to claim our other half and to stop anyone who threatens that. It broke us to see the fear in your eyes. I never want you to be afraid of us because we would never do anything to hurt you because Maka and I feel the bond with you. We both feel you’re our other half’s mate. But then there is Summer our chosen mate which in our history when we choose a mate our bond breaks and we are no longer connected to our other half mate which usually the other wolf wouldn’t even know it if they have not bonded with their other half. But that didn’t happen to us. I don’t know why but ever since the day I marked summer I have been trying to find answers to why I still feel a connection to you.” I said finally taking a breather.

“Makahi, I know you would never hurt me the fear you saw wasn’t because I felt that you would hurt me, I guess in the heat of the moment there was a moment of fear because of the situation itself but not because I thought you would her me or the girls. I already told you that I know you don’t care about me, and that Summer is who you want to be with who you’re in love with I get. I don’t want to come between you and your wife. I know this is all new territory for you as well, so from now on I will try and keep my distance from you, you can see the girls whenever you want, I can drop them off here whenever you want to see them but please don’t have them around your wife you may love her and trust her, but I don’t. Also, Dom has gone back to Uncle Felix’s pack for now until you can break my I mean our bond or whatever.” she said, turning her face away from me.

Quickly getting up to check on the pups. I got up and wrapped my arms around her from behind before spinning her to face me with tears falling from her eyes, I wiped them away. “I need to apologize again for the obvious misunderstanding. When I said I have been trying to find answers to why we’re still connected isn’t so I could break our bond I want to find answers to break my bond with Summer. I want nothing more than to be with you. It is driving Maka feral not being able to mark and claim you. But I also don’t want to hurt Summer or her pup which is why I have been combing the history books so I can reject her safely.
