Dom looked sad but he nodded and came over to me and held me in his arms for a long while before he let me go. Walking me to the door he grabbed me and turns me around. Hold my face in his hand. “Look Lahni I want you to know if you need me you only have to call and I will be here and if you need a place to go no matter the time my door will always be open to you he said as he kissed my lips and slipped what I’m assuming is his house keys in my hand before I walked out of the door and ran smack into my cousins who were waiting like a hawk. “OK spill it and don’t leave nothing out.” Shawna said pulling me out of the pack house doors. I don’t care how serious the situation is, we will never miss a chance to get the play by play. Hey, I can’t say shit I’m the same way.

“Damn, Lahni you’re better than me because I wouldn’t make my man leave when he got a whole wife who is always trying to get you killed or put in jail and he does absolutely nothing.” Mina said as he headed to the clearing in our back yard. Lynn seems to think in order to relieve stress we should beat our body to a pulp. So, we were sparring doing hand to hand. Some of the women from the pack came to join. Most of them don’t have any training not that they couldn’t they just left it for the men to do. “So how would yall defend yourselves if the bad guys were able to get to you how would you protect your little babies?” Lynn asked. The women looked completely terrified and have never thought about it that way. “Just because it has never happened doesn’t mean it won’t. Since we have been here, we have had to fight for our lives.” Mina said. The ladies gradually left, and some came back in workout clothes or comfortable pants and shirts. They were naturally strong and fast, so we taught them basic moves they were actually pretty good.

We did tell them although they learn these moves the hardest thing is not allowing fear to freeze them or forget their training, we tell them the best way to not freeze is to think of why you need to fight for most it was their pups or other loved ones. “But you always run first and if possibly hide your babies if you know you can’t escape and you need to teach them what to do in case of emergency. We could also teach the children survival skills if by chance they are alone and have to reach a safe place alone. We could do drills with pre-teens and teenagers who will have to keep the wee babies safe.” I said deep in thought thinking about Raz and what happened the day the rogues attacked us.

The women nodded in agreement, and we set up a time for the women to bring their kids over we will have the women run drills with their babies and make sure they have a solid emergency plan. We practiced for another hour before the ladies left us as we started on our target practice. Oh, how I missed my crossbows. I had two purple crossbows, one old school, and 1 custom made sniper crossbow. I love my old school one the most, because I always feel like that girl on the cartoon Brave. Yes, I love cartoons and Disney. My cousins always call me childish, because my TV stays on Disney shows and movies. We practice crossbow target, throwing knives and stars. By the time we finished, my arms and legs were cussing my ass out.

I was going to pick up the girls, but that shit wasn’t happening until I take a bath, and a nap. I’m glad momma Teri said we could take as long as we want. But I know better than to leave them there a long time because by the time we get them back they would be rotten and spoiled and won’t let us put them down, and we not going through that anymore. So, with a solid plan we all crowed up the steps with Lynn laughing behind us looking like she didn’t even break a sweat. Did I mention I don’t like that bitch.

MAKAHI POV:

“Damnit Kahi, why the f*** were you running so fast?” Montego asked me as he stepped into the shack we used as teenagers. “How did you know I was here I hid my scent?” I asked curiously. “Because before I was your beta, I was your best friend so I automatically knew where you would come at times like this. So, tell me what happened back there?” He asked sitting down beside me. “I wish I f****** knew all I know is when that beta put his arm around Ji’lahni, Maka lost it and took control that has never happened before, but he wanted to kill that beta hell he still does. Lately he has been really grouchy and angry. It kind of feels like he is going feral because he can’t mate and mark Ji’lahni. Then we see the beta another wolf trying to claim her it was just too much for Maka to handle.” I said sighing running my hands down my face.

“Look man I get it Lynn still refuses to allow me to touch her. But she is at least talking to me. But just like you told me, you have to remember she’s human and doesn’t understand our ways. That’s why you need to talk to her and tell her everything because if you don’t you will lose her.” I laughed sarcastically. So “I think I already have you didn’t see her face and how scared she was that nearly broke Maka he never wanted her to fear Him that was the only reason he allowed me to take full control back.” I said to Montego.

“Don’t underestimate her she has been through A lot and is still sane I think she can handle a feral angry alpha wolf if not she would just shoot you with her bow and arrow laced with wolf bane.” Montego said slapping me on the back we both chuckled at the thought because it was entirely possible, she would shoot me. “Now on to the matter of your mate. You know she witnessed the whole entire scene and how you practically claimed Ji’lahni in from of the whole entire pack.” “Shit! I completely forgot this shit is so messed up. I wish I knew what the moon goddess was thinking. Hopefully, these books will give me some answers. Until then I will avoid Summer and just deal with her later. I have to talk to Ji’lahni first, so she doesn’t up and runaway again. I said getting up shifting in an instinct racing out of the shack with Diageo right behind me.

I decided to go by my parents’ house to get a change of clothes, not wanting to run into Summer yet. As I walked in, I could hear nothing but baby talking and my parents making silly noises which I can only assume my pups thought it was funny. I smiled at my pups on the floor with my parents both on their hands and knees playing a new version of peekaboo where they would hide their eyes and allow their wolf to come and once, they uncover letting out soft growls and the girls would squeal every time.

Picking up one of the girls from the floor. “First of all, mind your business this is my house, and my grand pups can have whatever they want in here.” My mother said. Walking to sit on the couch with Tru in her arms honestly Tru name should have been Teri because she was a spitfire just like her granny.

She was growling lightly like she understood that we were talking about her. “Exactly honey, you should have seen him the other day. He came into the pack house and wouldn’t move out of the way so I can see my chocolate sundaes.” He said, with Teri drooling on his shoulder which he didn’t seem to mind. “What? You almost knocked me over trying to get to them.” I said to my parents laughing. “Well son, you must have been moving too slow. I have notice that about you lately.” My mother said.

“Exactly! what I said honey. My dad said, wrapping his arms around my mom. They looked completely happy, and at peace.” I wish I could have that same feeling. Teri must have sniffed me out because she started squirming trying to see where I was her head bobbling because her neck isn’t strong enough yet. I walked over so she could see me, and she squirmed even more. I smiled picking her up relieved that she wasn’t afraid of me. My heart was relieved I hated thinking they could ever be afraid of me.
