Ji’lahni POV: day three

I groaned in pain. I couldn’t even tell you what hurt at this point. Let’s just say my arm was the least painful. “Shaw, Min you good?” “Yea we good. You?” They both answered and asked. “Yea. I’m good.” I said as I sat up on the makeshift bed that was just a box cot no mattress and a thin ass wool blanket. Since we've been here, they have done almost everything to us, except rape us, because their alpha had strictly forbidden it, claiming that he had plans, and didn't want us ruined before he was able to collect on them. We were battered and bruised but trust me we have done our fair share of damage since we knew they couldn’t kill us or fuck us up permanently. So, we fought like our life dependent on it because it did. We also were trying to learn everything we could about this place.

We have been on our own since we were young, so we had to always make sure we knew our surroundings and also how to find each other if we came up missing and how to survive, if possible, until we were found with the knowledge that someone is looking for us. When we met Lynn, we included her into our family so now even though we don’t know how long she will take to find us, we know she will be looking. And that’s all that matters right now. “So how many guards did you count today are they any new ones?” I ask Mina. Coming to my cot. “I counted twenty-five. Two at every exit and there are five exits. There are four guards on us instead of two like before, probably because of the other day,” she said with a smile.

The first day here, they thought we were unconscious when they took us to the lab. They were collecting our blood, we weren’t exactly sure why, but what we do know is somehow our blood affects them in a bad way. So, while they dragged us out. Shawna was able to grab a knife when Mina distracted the guards and nurses in the lab. When they were dragging us Shawna sliced her hand and I simply got blood from my open wound and smeared some on Mina’s hand, we grabbed their hands, so they let go of us and smacked their face with our blood, kicked them in the balls, and high tailed it out of there. But because we didn’t know the layout we didn’t get far, and we got fucked up for that and the men had to be transferred to the medical clinic because although wolves could heal but our blood cause them not to be able to heal. So now the men were walking around with our handprint on their face.

The only regret I have is that I didn’t have my bird finger in position when I hit him. Smiling “That means that the other eleven are on the outside of the camp. And that isn’t counting the working like the chefs' nurses and the alpha himself.” OK “how many vials of our blood do they have now and what were you able to find out from nurse dick head?” “As of now they have thirty-six vials and all I could get is that he plans to use us as weapons against other packs to eliminate all alphas and betas so alpha Zane could rule over all werewolves and also doing away with the counsel all together. I wasn’t able to find out why only our blood affects them.” Shawna shrugged. We found that piece out yesterday apparently, we were the only human with blood to hurt a werewolf in history. We couldn’t figure that shit out because our history didn’t have anything about werewolves or even our bloodline being anything special.

“OK here’s what we all know. They are planning to use our blood as a weapon against other pack alphas and betas there are twenty-five guards protecting the compound four on us and two on each door, which are five exits. Ok for me I know they guard rotate shift every twenty-two hours they take one hour breaks every six hours. The alpha leaves the compound at nine pm every night and returns at nine am every morning from what I hear the nurse say. They exit out the back by the kitchen. So that must be where lower-level employees come and go, which would be the best option for us if we have the opportunity to escape, we will have to have a solid plan before we even attempt to try and break out. Feeling dizzy and nauseous I vomited yet again. “Hey cousin are you sure you’re OK. You have been vomiting since you got here, and you look like your losing weight and color.” Shawna asked, with a look of concern.

“I’m fine I told you I think because I wasn’t at one hundred percent before we got thrown in here, I think I have regressed, and I think my arm is getting infected. But we can’t worry about that now. All we have to do is stay alive at least until we can escape, or Lynn find us at least than I would know they were ok, because I didn’t want to let on, that I really wasn’t doing good at all, And I know if we had to escape I would only slow them down that’s why I had a plan on top of our plan. I would make sure they made it out alive even if it kills me. With that thought I got ready for another day of BNB aka beatings and blood.

Makahi POV: five am.

“Kahi help me she’s going to kill me.” I jumped up to Summer screaming in my head. “Where are you?” I asked hopping out of bed throwing on some sweats not bothering to put on a shirt. I added Hunter, Shadow, Montego, and Blaze into our mind link. “She drugged me to the med clinic.” Summer screamed. I raced to the clinic seeing everyone crowding at the door. I heard Summer screaming and crying from outside everyone parted as me, Shadow, Hunter, Blaze, and Montego approached. Walking into the clinic I see Summer on her knee's half shifted and looks like she’s been in a hell of a fight and lost. The most interesting part is she lost to a human who was holding two blades at her throat, which judging from the blood running down Summer’s neck she was prepared to use it. Before I could say anything, Montego roared “MATE!” The stranger eyes widen for a split second before she focused back on me. Seeing Montego’s struggle to control his wolf. “Montego calmed down now.” I commanded using my Alpha aura to push the command he visibly settles and nods a thanks my way. I don’t usually use my aura on him because he is my Beta and my best friend. Turning back to the woman making sure I remain calm because I don’t want Montego to lose his shit trying to protect his mate if that’s what she was.

“Can you tell me why you have your knife at my future mates throat?” I asked as calmly as I could. “Well, that’s simple I want to know what she has done to my friends. I haven’t heard from them in three days, Then I come here, not only are they not here, but I can't track them. I have been trying to reach Lateri with no luck so here I am. Seems as though this one has had it out for them from the beginning, so I figured why not start here.” She said squeezing the blade tighter causing more blood to flow and Summer screams in pain. “Lynn, I presume. I’m Alpha Makahi.” I nodded in introduction. “I know who and what you are, wolf.” She said cutting me off. Now I’m the one shocked, but why should I be if she were working with Ji’lahni and her cousins to wipe us out she would know what we are. Glancing at Montego who is barely holding his wolf in and seeing the sadness in his eyes that his mate wants to kill our kind hurts him and his wolf just as much as Ji’lahni’s betrayal.

Turning back to Lynn. “I’m sure you also know that we found out about your plan to wipe our kind out of existence, you should understand that your crew had to be arrested, questioned, and will stand trial for their crime. You should also know that they confessed to the charges brought against them.” I said with bile raising in my throat at the mention of the crimes they committed. Hearing my mother yelling for people to get out of the way she comes barreling in. “LYNN OH MY GODDESS!” My mother cried racing over to the girl not caring that she currently had a knife to Summer’s throat she hugs the girl not even trying to disarm her, hell she looked like she was trying to make sure she didn’t make her lose her grip.

Clearing my throat my mother finally looked at the scene before her and I could tell she smirked a little. “Mother can you please tell your friend to let Summer go.” I mind linked. “Hey, she has every right to want to know where her family is and want the person responsible to pay.” She responded with a shrug. "MOTHER!” I yelled. “Hey, watch your tone young man you may be the alpha but I’m still your mother.” She said cutting me from her mind and turning to her friend. “Lynn sweetie I’m glad you’re here so you can help me find the girls. I have been doing everything I can to fine them.” My mother said sadly. She definitely has been contacting all her old friends trying to find them with no help from me. “Lynn please let this idiot go so we can find the girls we will deal with her once all this is over. She said walking up to Lynn who visible sags against her. Summer took the opportunity to duck from under her Blades and scrambled over to me falling into my arms. I quickly pushed her behind me still not approaching.

“Now that we have that settled, I would love to chat with you at our facility where we can talk safely.” I said, “Please don’t insult my intelligence, I’m not going anywhere with you. But I sure as hell would love to know what the hell you think that me and my friends have done to your kind.” She responded, which shocked my mother. She gasped and took a step back. “You knew what I was all along?” Giving my mother a small smile. “Yes, momma Lateri I have always known. My grandmother is an ancient Asian woman who studied the old ways of the dragon shifters. She used to tell me stories of all the shifters in existence including werewolves. Although I thought she was bat shit crazy until I met you. That’s why I didn’t come when the girls came, I went to visit my grandmother. I needed to know everything about your kind in order to make sure we were safe. I allowed them to come because I trusted that you would protect them until I got here.” She finished sadly. My mom face looked guilt ridden as though she had somehow let her down. She broke down crying and Lynn embraced her telling her it wasn’t her fault but looking at me and Montego with hatred.

“Did the girls know about us?” My mother asked. Lynn shakes her head. “No, they didn’t know I didn’t tell them because my grandmother always told me no one can know about your existence, because it would not only put them in danger but also the shifter community. So, I didn’t tell them, and I’m upset that I didn’t because I left them vulnerable to be attacked and imprisoned by your kind.” She said looking at me. “They are where they belong, because you and your friends are trying to wipe out our kind with your tainted blood.” Summer yelled feeling brave now that she had backup. Frowning at Summer in confusion. “What the hell are you even talking about, you crazy bitch. The only one they would probably want to wipe out is your dumb ass but understand that option is still on the table if anything has happened to my friends.” She sneered at Summer.

“Wait so they didn’t know that we werewolves? So why did they inject themselves with a substance that can hurt us?” I asked urgently my wolf was pacing, my heart was racing, afraid her answer would make me wrong about everything. “What? Inject something in their blood? First and most important Shawna is deathly afraid of needles she wouldn’t allow anyone near her with a needle. We have to go with her to get blood drawn every year and she always has to be held down.” Lynn smiled at the thought. “And what the hell would they even Inject into themselves to harm you if they don’t know wolves exist.” Lynn said angrily my mother hands Lynn the test results she got from the nurse behind the desk. Lynn reads the test, and her eyes widen in shock at what she sees.
