Visiting Shawna!

Shadow’s POV:

I made it to the clinic in record time, but as soon as I was outsides Shawna’s door I hesitated, all of a sudden scared of what I might see. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath trying to prepare myself. “What are you waiting for get your ass in here we don’t have a lot of time Hunter said as he stepped out of the room. “You have 1 hour tops I have one of the guards watching the house to see if they leave before that. If they do you have to hightail it out here or climb out the window I don’t care as long as they don’t catch you here. I’ll be out here waiting.” He said, going to sit in the waiting area. I pushed open the door to Shawna’s room and my breath hitched once I saw all the machines hooked all over her body with a tube in her mouth.

I moved slowly beside her bed touching her face gently. I wanted to be close to her, so I gently maneuvered and laid next to her. I kissed her cheeks then her forehead as tears welled in my eyes. “Baby I’m so sorry, I never meant to hurt you. I wish I could take it all back, I know what your cousins think, but baby I swear I would die before I let anyone hurt you. I’m so sorry this is all my fault. I just need you to wake up and show me your big, beautiful smile that I love so much I promise I will let you put your frozen feet on me every night if you would just be ok.” I said in her ear, and I allowed the tears to flow from my eyes. My hand gently caressed her stomach that, carried my growing pup.

The doc said the baby was still alive in spite of the trauma but if Shawna doesn’t make it neither will the pup. “I’m sorry you didn’t get to tell me we’re having a pup, but I promise if you both pull through this, I will make sure you get the best treatment and drugs money can buy, because I know how you said you can’t handle pain at all.” I chuckled at the memory of her telling me how it was watching Ji’lahni have the twins and if Ji’lahni couldn’t handle the pain then she was sure she wasn’t gone make it. “You also promised me you would cook me down home southern meal once all this was over and I am holding you to that, so you have no choice but to get well so you can get to cooking. Baby please don’t leave me I don’t think I can survive losing you and my pup.” I said barely able to get the words out.

I Slid down the bed and rested my head gently on her stomach where our pup grows. I gasped when I heard what sounded like a fast pace beating, it was very faint but with my wolf hearing I could hear my pup. “Hey little guy, I’m your papa. I know you have been through a lot, and you haven’t even gotten here yet. I know you may be scared but everything is going to be fine, because you have a momma that will scorch this earth before she allows anything to happen to you. So, you don’t worry about a thing and just keep growing strong for your papa. You have to help me get your momma to wake up you have to look out for her while I’m not here can you do that for your papa?” I said as I kissed her stomach.

I lifted my head back up to her face and leaned my forehead against hers. “I love you Shawna Nelson, so I need you to wake up and get better so you can kick my ass. I promise I will let you. If you do just this one thing, please baby I can’t do this without you.” I said the tears fell. All of a sudden, every machine in the room went off and the nurse and the doc came rushing in as I hopped off the bed. “What's wrong? what's happening?” I asked in a panic. “Her stitching is coming undone again this time faster than before. Shit! You may have to get the girls if I can’t stop the bleeding.” The doc said “NO!” I yelled. “She can’t die doc I need her and our pup, you can’t let them die please.” I said desperately.

“Hey Shadow, we gotta go man the girls might be here any minute and we can’t let them see you here.” Hunter said pulling me out the room. Rane immediately came forward and growled at him. He refused to leave Shawna and his pup until he knew they were ok. He let go of my arm and held both his hands up. “Shadow, we have to get out of here I promise I will tell you when she is stable. But if the girls come here and catch you here, they will think you were trying to do something to her and kill you then me. I promise I will help you see her again.” Hunter said to me.

He was right I needed to get out of here before the girls get back it will not end well if they catch me in here with her while she is like this. I took a deep breath so I can take in her scent but all I got was the smell of her blood. I quickly turned and left the clinic and shifted as soon as I was out the door. I needed to be alone, I was in no shape to go back to the house where Shaid is. I know it wasn’t her fault that Shawna and my pup were suffering, because of people who wants to destroy my pack and my…family.

“Can you believe that dummy thought we were stupid?” Mina said, chuckling. “I know right, he real life thought we didn’t know he was only there to get us out of the room so Shadow could sneak in to see Shawna.” I said, laughing. When we left the Clinic, we didn’t leave right away, we made a beeline around the building and waited. And sure, enough Shadow came running a few minutes later like his ass was on fire. We decided that we really didn’t think Shadow had anything to do with Shawna being stabbed it was all the Zombie bitch. He was her mate and what we have learned about it, they really can’t see pass the internal bond that their moon goddess instilled in them.

Although for most humans we believe in the whole, giving us free will to choose our own path and who we love thing. Along with the fact that divorce rates are super high among us. Maybe we needed to be told who is best for us. I sure wish somebody could have stopped me from making some dumb mistakes with some of the dudes I have dated. But anyway, we did take showers and change clothes, but we didn’t take a nap and we would visit the girls after we pay this zombie bitch a little visit.
