Makahi POV:

DAY 10

I’m officially a walking zombie. I know what it feels like to be dead on your feet. It has been a little over a week since the girls were born and Ji’lahni was still in a coma. There have been no changes at all, which I guess is a good thing. The pups are keeping everyone on their toes. Even with my parents and the girls we are all tired. But the pups are spoiled and loved up on by each one of us. No matter how tired we were we still wanted to hold and love up on them every chance we get. The twins were bonding with Ji’lahni as well. We make sure they get fed and have skin to skin contact with her. Her cousins pulled up old videos so they can hear their mommas voice and you can tell they know it because every time someone turns it on, they react in some way.

We put them in her arms and put the phone next to her head so they can see and hear her. We don’t know if they actually get what we’re trying to do but they react positively so we will continue to do that until she wakes up. It’s 6 am and the girls are ready to be fed they are putting up a fuss because I had to change their diapers first. “Well, if you want to be fed first, then you should try not pooping in your diaper before a feeding.” I said over Beah’s cries while Tru doesn’t cry, but stares daggers at me for making her sister cry. “Hey, don’t give me that look I didn’t poop, she did.” I said leaning to kiss her little nose.

“Who is making pop, pop babies cry do I need to knock somebody’s head off.” My father said coming into the room he always came here for an hour before he started his day, an hour at mid-day and after he leaves the pack house for the day and even comes back after dinner sometimes. He spends all his free time with his chocolate sundaes. “Whose bothering pop, pop chocolate sundaes.” He says in his baby voice as he pushes me out of the way and picks them up. As they wiggled excitedly at seeing their pop, pop all the anger they had about being fed forgotten as they cooed and grunted trying to tell their pop, pop how I treated them. I smiled rolling my eyes as he acts like he understands everything they’re saying and even talks back. Shaking my head, I head over to Ji’lahni to set off the feeding bed for the twins.

I’m practically a pro now. “Hey baby.” I said kissing her lips it’s a habit now ever since the first night when she reacted, I have been doing it ever since. She still reacts but doesn’t wake up. The reaction reassures me that she is still in there and it calms Maka. “Are you going to wake up today it's supposed to be a beautiful day outside. The doc says I can take them outside for a walk around the community. So many people are dying to me them. I would love it if you could be with me to introduce them to our pack. All you have to do is open those beautiful eyes of yours.” I say as I finish with the bed and my dad comes and hand them to me one at a time. Once I have them settled and feeding, me and dad sit in the rocking chairs to wait for the burping break.

“So, the doc is allowing them outside today? Are you going to get everyone together or are you just going to keep it to the people you may see while you’re out?” “I think I just want it to be low key I was thinking about walking to your house maybe the pack house when it’s pretty empty, like right after lunch. The doc doesn’t want too many people near them because he still doesn't know what qualities they inherited from our side and what they inherited from their human side they could be vulnerable to sickness and by them being so small he wants to play it safe.” I said looking at them.

“That’s great news son just calls when you’re on the way and I’ll make sure only a few people are in the pack HOUSE. They are really small for wolf pups and human babies; how much do they weigh now? It seems like they’re putting on weight.” He said. “Yea they are, but not much. Beautiful weighed 4lbs 6oz she’s now 5lb 12oz Trouble weighed 3lb 15oz she’s now 4lbs 13oz. Their lungs are fully developed, which the doc thinks is because they’re half alpha wolves. He doesn’t know if they will shift or not and I don’t want them to run any test on them while they are so small, and I don’t want them to do anything until Ji’lahni is awake. No one will treat my pups like lab rats.

I understand we all have questions and want to know more about how this all happen, and we will get some answers eventually, but it will be at a pace that me and Ji’lahni set.” I told my father that nodded his head in agreement. “The doc informed me that rumors have been spreading about them and other wolf medical experts from different pack clinics who want to come and run test on them, and some have gone so far as to say they want to take them to their facilities for testing because they aren’t me and my mates' children but pups with an unmated human so they assume I wouldn’t care. Which I immediately shut down and inform the doc to tell them that if my nose twitch and their scent is even on a breeze, I will rip their throats out. I will kill anyone who tries to take my pups.” I growled out and Maka came to the surface remembering the conversation I had with doc a few days ago. “You got that right.

But they will have to go through me and every one of us to get to them. Your mother especially and you know what happens when you mess with your mothers' pups. She even scares me sometimes.” He said and we both laugh as the alarm beeped to burp the girls who protested being taking from their mother’s breast. We burped them and placed them back in their mothers' arm to finish their feedings. “Well son I’m going to go I have a conference call with your uncle about some pack issues. That I think it is just him wanting to hear about the girls. He acts like they are his grand pups, but my chocolate sundaes only have one pop, pop, isn’t that, right?” He asks going to the girls kissing their little feet before he leaves.

Once alone. “Montego you and Shadow meet me at the clinic around 11am.” I said mind linking them both. “We’ll be there.” They both answered. I also mind linked Fiona to have one of the omegas bring over a scroller from my mother’s house. She had all the baby stuff moved to her house until Ji’lahni wakes up since her cousins are staying at the pack house. Once I had everything set for their first outing, I burped them and got us all settled kissed their heads and decided to sleep while they slept.” By 11am I had the girls dressed in purple and pink rompers with polka dots Tru had on the pink with purple polka dots and Bea had on the purple with pink polka dots both had matching socks and head bands I only brush their curly hair because that is the extent of my abilities. I had bottles of breast milk, diapers, and wipes. Just then Montego and Shadow came and poked their heads into the room.

“Hey is everybody decent.” Montego asked. “Yes. Come on in we’re almost ready.” I said picking up Tru. “Ready for what? Shadow asked. “You and Montego have Alpha’s guard duty today.” I said handing Tru to Shadow and then handed Bea to Montego. I laughed at the sight of them frozen in place as they held both pups on their shoulders and the girls wiggled and squirmed. Still laughing I went over to Ji’lahni. “Hey baby I’ll be back in a couple of hours I’m taking the girls for a walk mom is coming to sit with you while I’m out.” I said before kissing her that seem to shock both Montego and Shadow. When I lift my head, they were looking at me questioningly. “What was that? You marked Summer how is it that Ji’lahni’s touch doesn’t repulse you or physically affect you or Summer?” I don’t know after I marked Summer.

I thought me and Ji’lahni’s bond and connection would be broken but when I touch her, I still feel the same jolt and connection I had from when we first met.” I said confused. “How is that possible no wolf has ever had two mates.” Montego said in disbelief. “I don’t know. The only thing me and the doc can think of is because Ji’lahni’s Is human and my other half mate and Summer isn’t, and I practically forced Maka to mark her. I feel the mates' bond with Summer, but it isn’t strong, and I haven’t allowed Summer to mark me, and I don’t plan to until I know for sure that I can't undo the marking without hurting Summer and her pup.” I said disappointed at the realization. “Her pup? Don’t you mean you and her pup?” Montego asked with a raised brow. “Yea that’s what I meant.” I said quickly not wanting to get into why.

Because I honestly don’t know why but my feelings are different then my feelings when I found out about the twins. Until I can figure it all out, I won’t dwell on it. Grabbing the scroller and diaper bag I headed to the door I gave the men blankets to cover the pups. “Hey where are you going with the scroller we haven’t put them in yet.” Shadow said in a panic. “That’s because they’re not going into the scroller until they need to feed or nap. They’re wide awake so I want them to be able to look around. So, let’s head out.” I said walking out the door and they walked slowly behind me like they were carrying boiling water that was filled to the rim.
