Makahi POV:

This can’t be happening how the hell did Summer end up pregnant. How the hell could it be my pup she’s carrying? Listening to her tell me about a night I had no recollection of and one I would quickly dismiss if it weren’t for the fact that I was indeed drunk most of those days because even though the evidence pointed to them been guilty Maka still felt that she was our mate and some part of me wanted to believe it. So, getting drunk was the only way I could stop myself and Maka from taking over and going after Ji’lahni. I also remember the morning I came downstairs, and she was in the kitchen I didn’t care enough to question her, partly because I didn’t want to hear her complain about me canceling on her yet again. So, I basically grabbed a bite to eat and got to morning assignments for my guards. I briefly saw her rush out but paid it no mine. Could what she said be true? That I’m the father!? I couldn’t be sure so I can’t allow her or the pup to be harmed which it doesn’t matter if I was the father or not, I couldn’t let her die.

Zane cleared his throat to get my attention because I was focused on summer and the pup, she carried she was sobbing uncontrollably and winced in pain when the guard jerked her back by the hair and Maka came forward instantly ready to protect her and the pup with his life. “Now that we have all that cleared up. The only way to save your pup’s life is to mark my dear niece here which should be no problem since she was supposed to be your mate and Luna anyway.” Zane finished shrugging dismissively. “Are you out of your mind if you let her go now, I’ll make your death quick. Because If any one of you touches her or my pup, you will die slow.” I snarled. “Now, now alpha, I’m trying to avoid killing you and my pregnant niece but if you refuse, honestly you leave me no choice.” Zane said as his claws lengthened, and Summer begins to scream and fight the guards who were dragging her to Zane.

“Damn it! STOP! What does it matter if I mark your niece? Why is it so important that I mark her what do you get out of our mating?” I asked wondering what he gets out of me marking Summer. “Let’s just say I believe a pup needs both parents.” He shrugged. “Bullshit!” I snarled. “Whether you believe my motives or not is of no concern to me it doesn’t change the fact that you have only two choices and you better make it quick because my mate was in the middle of having my stepchildren.” Zane said smiling trying to provoke me into attacking giving his guards more time to reach Ji’lahni who Montego mind link me that she made it to the chopper, but guards were heading their way. He and hunter were still at the exit waiting for me while Shadow was with Ji’lahni. Summer’s screaming broke my focus as Zane raised his hand with his claws out coming down to swipe at summer’s exposed belly.

“STOP I’LL DO IT!” I yelled Zane stopped just as the tip of his claws came so close to Summer’s belly that I saw a little blood drip down her stomach. Turning to me with a triumphant smile “Smart choice son I didn’t want to add a she-wolf and a pup to my list of kills today. He said retracting his claws. “Well send her to me.” “Please son don’t insult my intelligence again you don’t have time to play silly games. My guard here will bind your legs and then I’ll escort summer to you and once she is marked, you’re both free to go. See simple right.” “How do I know you want double cross me once we try to leave.” “Why Alpha I’m offended am I not a man of my word?” Zane said as if he were offended that I would doubt him. “You’re kidding right?” I snorted. “At this point you’re just gonna have to trust me, again you don’t have the time to waste tic toc times a wasting how much longer are you willing to have your pups without a hospital around remember Ji’lahni is human after all.” Just do it.” Zane snarled.

One of the guards holding Summer hurried towards me producing a roped obviously laced in the girls' blood then dried out the guard had gloves on as he knelt to wrap the rope around my leg earning a growl from Maka he damn near jumped out of his skin which pleased Maka. The guard hurried away once the rope was secure the rope was burning into my skin, but I refuse to give Zane the satisfaction of seeing a reaction. He grabbed summer by the hair and yanked her forward using her as a shield. Which caused summer to cry out and stumbled, he just jerked her up right practically dragging her. My claws lengthen and my eyes changed to Maka, and he growled. “Calm down Alpha she’s not hurt maybe a little bruised but not hurt.” Zane said as he shoved Summer in front of me pulling her hair back exposing her neck where my mark is supposed to go. Looking at Summer I could see the fear in her eyes, and I felt sorry for her at that moment despite what she did her pup shouldn’t have to die because of it.

Looking at her neck Maka was resisting, he knew Summer wasn’t our mate and didn’t want to betray Ji’lahni, because when we mark Summer, we lose Ji’lahni forever. “Come on Alpha we don’t have all day if you’ve changed your mind, I could just rip her throat out right here.” Zane said extending his claws again. “But before he could reach her neck, I grabbed her and sink my teeth into her neck and felt the bond snap into place as Maka howled in sorrow as I felt the connection me and Ji’lahni pups flickered out replaced with the connection with Summer's pups snap into place tears spilled from my eyes as I hear Maka’s deafening howls as he retreated in the back of my mind. Retracting my teeth and licking the wound close I let go of Summer and she dropped to the ground still sobbing as I looked up, I see Zane and his men were gone they must have left as soon as I bit Summer, they didn’t need her to bite me back, just me biting her was enough to ensure that we were bonded.

“Alpha, you need to move your ass! We have to get outta here.” Montego mind linked. Snapping me out of my misery, I reached down and picked up Sumner turning to run towards the exit. Summer wrapped her arms around me and breathe in my scent and instantly calmed I had to fight the urge to bury my head in neck and breathe in her intoxicating scent the bond already growing stronger but strangely I still felt a pull to Ji’lahni even with Summer wearing my mark. I’m so screwed I just hope I can get Ji’lahni to understand and wait for me to find a way to undo the mates' mark. But I already know this will not end well for any of us. Because I’m bringing the woman who caused all our problems with me and to make matters worse, I will have to protect Summer from Ji’lahni and the girls because they’ve been waiting for the chance to kill Summer but now everything has changed and not in a good way. I just hope like hell they don’t kill me and Summer, time we step on the plane.
