Let Me Go, Mr. Howard Chapter 103

As soon as she finished speaking, Scarlett let out a small yawn.

Sebastian glanced away and slowed the car down. She definitely looked tired.

Scarlett dozed off briefly in the car. Soon—twenty minutes at most—the vehicle came to a stop.

She hadn't been sleeping deeply and opened her eyes the moment the car stopped.

Outside the window was a natural mountain forest, but the scene before her was almost too familiar. She immediately sat up straight, taking in the full view beyond the window.

"Skylake Road?" The name slipped from her lips.

Skylake Road was a recently developed property in Sovereign City, situated beside Century Lake—a literal rich people's paradise.

The area consisted of only ten houses, each offering stunning views of the lake from their living rooms.

Century Lake itself was a natural lake cluster surrounded by low mountains, offering different scenery throughout the four seasons.

The development was positioned on the hillside of the surrounding mountains, providing superior views of Century Lake.

While the area was considered one of Sovereign City's attractions, Skylake Road's location was even better.

Scarlett was familiar with this place because the development had been created by a subsidiary of the Howard Group, and she had been involved in designing the show houses.

"You're giving me one of these houses?" she asked as she followed Sebastian into the sales area, surprised despite knowing this property was just something the Howard family could easily afford to give away.

Skylake Road houses had been positioned as high-end products from the beginning. Sebastian owned one of these houses himself—it was even one of his regular residences.

So far, six of the properties had been sold, almost all to prominent figures in Sovereign City.

Scarlett didn't consider herself qualified for such luxury.

The location was also convenient—close to downtown with a large bridge nearby, making it about a thirty-minute drive to the city center and only about thirty-five minutes to the MRK Building.

While not as convenient as the fifteen-minute commute Scarlett had hoped for, it certainly wasn't far by any measure.

"You don't want it? This is Grandfather's sincere gesture." Sebastian chuckled as he observed her surprised expression.

The sales staff at the entrance had already recognized his identity and stepped forward. "Mr. Howard."

With outsiders present, Scarlett didn't dare act too casually with him and could only whisper, "I'd be crazy to turn down a free house."

If Scarlett had to choose which house she preferred, it honestly didn't matter, as they were all very similar. But Sebastian seemed to have already made his selection.

News of his arrival quickly reached the manager, who came running over.

"Mr. Howard, the house has been prepared," he said immediately upon greeting them.

Sebastian nodded, unscrewed the water bottle handed to him by the sales staff, gave it to Scarlett first, then naturally took the one from her hand. "Show Ms. Seymour around."

The manager noticed the woman beside Sebastian. She was beautiful, and Sebastian's attitude toward her seemed pleasant, but he'd never heard of Sebastian having a lover, so he wasn't sure how to address her.

Upon hearing Sebastian's words, the manager immediately smiled and said, "So this is Ms. Seymour? Forgive my poor eyesight—I didn't recognize you earlier."

The Seymour family affair was known throughout Sovereign City, and the manager immediately recognized who she was upon hearing the surname. His smile took on a somewhat fawning quality.

George wanted to use Scarlett to boost his reputation, and they were naturally willing to play along.

Scarlett smiled and said it was fine. Everyone then followed the manager onto the shuttle for house viewing.

Upon arriving at the house, they encountered Tiffany's family.

"Isn't this Seb? What brings you here?" Tiffany smiled, being the first to notice Sebastian stepping off the shuttle.

Sylvia stood behind Tiffany. When she saw Sebastian, her eyes lowered briefly, then brightened when she noticed Scarlett, immediately walking over.

"You're here too? House hunting?"

Scarlett smiled when she saw her. "Yes, Grandpa heard I wanted to buy a house, so he had Sebastian bring me here."

Though Sylvia's commission had been completed half a month ago, their connection hadn't diminished—if anything, it had grown stronger. Sylvia had become Scarlett's only female friend.

Because of her beauty and Edith's constant interference, Scarlett had never made many female friends, so she particularly cherished Sylvia.

The two girls jumped into an excited hug.

Sebastian glanced at them, his eyes carrying a smile, but said nothing as he turned to Tiffany.

"Mrs. Myers, are you heading out?"

Tiffany nodded. "Sylvia's been begging to go to some music festival. Her grades have been good lately, so I agreed."

The Myers family driver was waiting at the entrance.

"I'm meeting friends at the beauty salon later," Tiffany smiled, seeming slightly embarrassed about her next words. "Since our other car is being serviced, Sylvia has to share my ride."

Sylvia was still in school, studying hotel management with plans to intern at one of Titan Ventures Group's hotels after graduation.

Titan Ventures Group primarily dealt in the hotel business, so her major aligned well with her career plans.

"Scarlett should come with me!" Sylvia pleaded. "Since you're out at this hour, you probably don't have work, right?"

Scarlett hesitated, glancing at Sebastian.

He looked back at her. "Interested?"

Scarlett had never been to a music festival before, so she was both interested and not. Her expression showed her indecision.

Tiffany, watching this, assumed she was just being shy and chimed in. "Young ladies should go out and enjoy themselves. No need to hold her back."

The girls were getting along well, so why not let them have fun?

Sebastian remained silent for a moment. He lowered his gaze, his palm slightly closed, thumb gently rubbing against the edge of his index finger—a gesture he often made when thinking.

Sylvia dared to plead with Scarlett but not with Sebastian. Assuming Scarlett felt the same, she whispered in her ear, "It must be so hard for you, having to be siblings with that ice king."

Whenever Scarlett heard someone mention her relationship with Sebastian, she couldn't help but feel tense inside. This time was no different.

Just as she was about to speak, Sebastian's voice came through.

"What are you whispering about?"

They both looked over. Sylvia was the first to look away, her lips tightening. "Nothing."

Sebastian's gaze deepened, lingering on Scarlett's face for a moment. Seeing that she didn't avoid his eyes, he chuckled softly. "Do you want to go, Letty?"

The word "Letty" from Sebastian's lips sent a tingle through Scarlett's body.

She was rarely called that, and whether intentional or not, the way Sebastian said "Letty" sounded incredibly intimate.

Scarlett's earlobes reddened slightly. She didn't speak, just nodded once.

"After we see the house, I'll take you both there," Sebastian decided, then said to Tiffany, "When the concert ends, I'll bring them back."
