Let Me Go, Mr. Howard Chapter 143
"Trust?" Graham scoffed, leaning in closer and whispering, "Addie, his trust ain't worth a nickel."
Adeline froze at his words, her body stiffening as Graham continued to murmur in her ear.
"Addie, plans never go as expected. We can't focus on Sebastian right now. Did you find the person I asked you to?"
"No," Adeline replied quickly, turning her face away with a harsh tone. "I don't have any connections here. Finding Wesley's descendants isn't exactly easy!"
"And the pocket watch?" Graham asked nonchalantly.
Adeline recalled the auction, "It was bought by the Watson family."
Graham let out a prolonged "Oh," tapping his chin thoughtfully. "The Watson family is after it too? With them keeping Sebastian occupied, it makes things easier for us."
"But the Watson family attended George's birthday party recently," Adeline reminded him.
Graham smiled, looking at her. "With so many people at the party, there's no way the Watson family and the Howard family are on friendly terms. Absolutely not."
Adeline was about to ask why when Graham pressed a finger to her lips.
"Don't ask questions you shouldn't, Addie. I don't want to drag you into danger."
His tone was gentle, but a chill of fear crept into Adeline's heart.
"However, you do need to deal with Sebastian," Graham whispered, leaning in to say something in her ear.
Adeline's expression softened, and she let out a long breath, clearly more relaxed. "Okay."
Their conversation was private, unheard by others.
After leaving, Sebastian headed for the main entrance, where Teddy was waiting for him.
"How's Mark?" Sebastian asked, his expression unchanged as he got into the car.
With the door closed, Teddy took the driver's seat. "They said he should be back by tomorrow."
"Good. Keep it quiet and inform the Watson family," Sebastian instructed, leaning back with his eyes closed.
Teddy started the car and pulled out of the parking spot. "What about Ms. Morgan?"
"Business as usual. Increase the number of people in the shadows."
"Yes, sir."

Since revealing her relationship with Michael, Scarlett had been receiving special treatment at the Howard Manor.
By the time she returned to Skylake Road, it was already ten at night, with George's security personally driving her back.
"Ms. Seymour, take care," the security guard said respectfully as he opened the car door.
Scarlett nodded and got out.
The car didn't leave until she was inside her villa. However, Scarlett didn't know that the car didn't head down the west road but instead took the fork towards Skylake Road No. 1.
George was waiting in the tea room, puffing on a pipe, his eyes half-closed as he lay on the couch.
"Mr. Howard, Liam is back," the butler's voice came from behind the half-opened door.
George finally opened his eyes. "Send him in."
A young man, the same security guard who had driven Scarlett, walked in.
"How did it go?" George knocked the ash from his pipe.
"No issues," Liam replied.
George handed the pipe to another guard and picked up a string of beads. "Good. You can rest now."

Skylake Road No. 1.
The night wrapped the beautiful house in darkness. As the last bit of light faded outside, the space inside the floor-to-ceiling windows was plunged into complete darkness.
The sound of a lighter flickered, and a flame danced briefly before settling into a steady glow. Sebastian sat in the darkness, the only light coming from his cigarette.
The ember glowed and dimmed with each inhale and exhale, the smoke blending into the dark air, leaving only the faint smell of burning tobacco.
"Grandfather..." he muttered, a bitter laugh escaping as he smoked. "As an old man, you really are paranoid."

At Skylake Road No. 5, Scarlett had only been back for a short while before she made three trips to the bathroom, each time worse than the last, scaring Libbie into fetching the medicine box.
"What did you eat at the Howard Manor?" Libbie frowned, almost criticizing their hospitality.
Scarlett felt guilty. "I overindulged. They had a lot of snacks and milk granita. I couldn't help myself."
She never ate much, but when she found something she liked, she couldn't stop. This wasn't the first time it had happened.
Because of this, the medicine box at home always had remedies for stomach issues.
After taking some medicine, Scarlett went upstairs to rest.
Later that night, Sebastian arrived.
Libbie, hearing the commotion, came out of the servant's quarters and greeted him with a smile. "Mr. Howard, Ms. Seymour is already asleep."
Sebastian nodded. He had come directly from Skylake Road No. 1, wearing casual clothes. He changed into slippers at the door and noticed the medicine box had been moved.
"She took medicine?"
Libbie, still a bit groggy, nodded. "Yes, Ms. Seymour's stomach was upset."
Sebastian's eyes darkened slightly. "Alright."
Upstairs, Sebastian lay down next to Scarlett.
She was restless, holding her stomach in her sleep, clearly in pain.
Sebastian lay down, rubbing her stomach gently.
"Ow," she murmured, waking up from the pressure. The churning in her stomach made her rush to the bathroom.
Sebastian turned on the bedside lamp and waited.
A few minutes later, Scarlett emerged, looking pale.
Sebastian walked over, holding her as they sat back on the bed. "Is it really that bad? Should we go to the hospital?"
He tried to rub her stomach again.
Scarlett grabbed his hand, stopping him, yawning as she remembered something she saw earlier. "Why are you not with Ms. Morgan?"
"Why do you keep bringing her up?" Sebastian frowned, lifting her chin to kiss her. "Didn't you see the show today?"
She had seen it. Scarlett thought of him helping Adeline, pouting and turning away. "I did."
Her attitude was infuriating. Sebastian, expressionless, pushed her down, patting her bottom lightly. "You're asking for it."
Scarlett immediately covered her butt, glaring at him, but then she felt something growing against her. Her face changed. "My stomach hurts."
"I know." Sebastian gritted his teeth, letting her go.
They lay back down, this time behaving themselves.
The room grew quiet as the light went out, their breathing steadying.
Sebastian left at seven in the morning.
Before leaving, he instructed Libbie, "I won't be coming here often. Be cautious of outsiders. Only allow the Myers and Wright families in. No one else."
Libbie, rarely seeing him so serious, nodded immediately, not daring to hesitate.
"And by the Wright family—not Shawn," Sebastian added.
Libbie didn't understand why but nodded anyway.
