Let Me Go, Mr. Howard Chapter 212

Teddy's question carried only confusion, with no hint of caution or probing.

After he asked, both men glanced back at the hospital room, where the estate's enforcers were gathering at the doorway. They would temporarily serve as guards, keeping watch over Adeline.

Sebastian turned and continued walking toward the elevator.

When Teddy didn't receive an answer and saw Sebastian walking away, he hesitated briefly before following him to the elevator.

"Wait until she contacts that gentleman. Find him," Sebastian said, his voice even deeper than before, his coldness surpassing the night's chill. "When everything is settled, send her to Roseford Sanatorium."

Roseford Sanatorium was located in Hustane, Eldoria.

Teddy's eyes lit up as he suddenly understood Sebastian's arrangement. He looked up, the doubt on his face completely gone, replaced by excitement.

"I understand now."

Seeing that Teddy comprehended, Sebastian nodded and rubbed his temples, his voice revealing undisguised fatigue. "I'll head there early tomorrow morning. Send word back home and have Libbie go there."

"Yes, sir."

At St. Mary's Hospital in Calvessa, a red-haired middle-aged foreign man carrying a bouquet of flowers was escorted to the fifteenth floor by a nurse that morning.

Initially, no one paid attention to him. After all, people bringing flowers to visit patients was a common sight in hospitals.

That changed when an argument erupted outside a room on the fifteenth floor—the once-smiling redhead was now being blocked by a tall, blond bodyguard who was pushing him back, much to his frustration.

Fortunately, there weren't many patients on the fifteenth floor, but the commotion caught the attention of the floor security, who quickly rushed over.

"Hey! Don't touch me!" Benjamin snapped, angrily swatting away Finn's finger from his chest. "Why can't I go in?"

Finn crossed his arms, his gaze dismissive. "Howard said you can't see Ms. Seymour. You'll get her killed."

As he said the last part, he widened his eyes dramatically, as if he truly foresaw the consequences of Benjamin meeting Scarlett.

"Bullshit!" Benjamin's face reddened with anger. "How could I possibly harm her?"

Finn wasn't clear on the details himself. He only remembered the chilling look in Sebastian's eyes when he had specifically instructed him. Even a fool could guess what would happen if he failed.

From what Finn had observed, Sebastian seemed capable of making him experience a hundred different Western-style deaths with ease. Those black-clad enforcers from Seraphim were clearly not ordinary people.

Finn was from Astoria. He had never learned Seraphine, though he had picked up some Vesperian for work. But in most situations, that language was useless, so Finn had almost completely forgotten how to speak Vesperian.

He couldn't understand what the Seraphim men were saying at all. However, the Vesperians nearby could grasp some key information.

[Marco's nephew... someone he cares about... be careful...]

Finn wasn't completely unfamiliar with Marco. The man's presence was too distinctive to ignore. Having moved in these circles for years, Finn had heard of Virella Island in Seraphim, and with a quick search, anyone could learn that Marco was the son of Virella Island's crime family patriarch.

Though they had supposedly gone legitimate, the foundation left by the previous generation remained strong, even growing more powerful due to economic growth. Few were willing to cross them. Even well-known bigshots chose to avoid confrontation, let alone someone like Finn.

The news that Sebastian was Marco's nephew surprised Finn somewhat, but it was information anyone could discover with a bit of research. Marco's father had only two children—Marco himself and Sebastian's mother, Lucia Russo.

Lucia had indeed married a man from Lumaria years ago, and their wedding announcement could still be found in old newspapers. Now that Lucia was gone, her only son would naturally be under Marco's protection, and now Scarlett as well.

Considering Sebastian's connections, Finn knew he needed to be extremely vigilant about any unexpected situations. He certainly wasn't going to let in someone who seemed determined to get him killed.

"Who knows what might happen? Sir, I'm just following orders. Please don't put me in a difficult position," Finn said, spreading his hands in a gesture of helpless resignation.

Benjamin frowned, about to say something more when a voice came from behind.

"What's going on here?"

Both men turned to look.

Floor security had arrived, their expressions serious and eyes wary as they looked at Benjamin.

"This gentleman wants to visit Ms. Seymour, but our boss has forbidden it. Would you mind escorting him out?" Finn waved dismissively, happy to pass the problem to someone else.

Hearing this, the security guards immediately closed in on Benjamin.

By now, the commotion outside had caught the attention of those inside.

Scarlett was eating in the outer sitting area. Though the menu was always the same, today's creamy mushroom soup suited her taste perfectly, and she'd had an extra small bowl.

Hearing voices outside, she turned to look. Though the door was closed, fragments of conversation filtered through the louvered window.

She caught one sentence clearly.

"I mean her no harm!" Benjamin exclaimed, seeing he was about to be removed. "I just want to tell her about her origins!"

Finn frowned, clearly losing patience.

Seeing his expression, the security guards immediately restrained Benjamin and began leading him away from the fifteenth floor.

Scarlett jumped to her feet and yanked the door open.

Her background had always been something she wanted to know and had been secretly investigating. Now, someone claimed to have information about her origins—how could she let this opportunity pass?

But when she opened the door, only Finn and the others remained.

They seemed surprised by her sudden appearance but quickly recovered. "Ms. Seymour, do you need anything?"

Scarlett frowned, looking in the direction the voices had gone. "Who was just outside?"

"It was a relative of a patient in the next room. He missed his family member's discharge and was upset about it," Finn replied smoothly, lying with practiced ease.

"That's not what I heard." Scarlett wasn't so easily fooled.

Finn's smile faded, but he stuck to his story. "That really was the reason, Ms. Seymour. The door was closed—you probably couldn't hear clearly."

Even knowing he was lying, Scarlett had no way to challenge him.

She frowned, pursed her lips, and sighed softly. "Fine."

Seeing she wouldn't pursue it further, Finn also breathed a sigh of relief.
