The atmosphere in the hospital room instantly grew heavy with Scarlett's trembling question.

Marco frowned, raising his hand to offer a comforting pat on her shoulder before hesitating, concerned it might make her uncomfortable. His hand hovered momentarily before he withdrew it.

At times like these, the female doctor found it easier to comfort Scarlett. Seeing her distress, she took Scarlett's hand and squeezed it gently. "Ms. Seymour, please don't panic. The situation is difficult, but we can minimize the risks through certain interventions."

Scarlett lowered her head and sat quietly, seemingly not registering the doctor's words.

"We'll consult with specialists from obstetrics, pediatrics, and other disciplines to develop the safest possible plan," the doctor continued, her voice growing softer, as if afraid of disturbing a mother immersed in grief.

Marco's face showed sympathy. Though aware of Scarlett's discomfort with his proximity, he still moved closer. "Letty, nothing's certain yet. Try not to be too upset, okay?"

However, Scarlett proved more resilient than they expected.

She took a deep breath, and when she looked up, the panic in her eyes had vanished, replaced by determination and resolve.

"I—"

Scarlett had barely begun to speak when a sound from the doorway cut her off.

Sebastian appeared, looking travel-worn and weary.

His eyes immediately found Scarlett as he entered.

Scarlett hadn't expected Sebastian to appear. Surprise filled her eyes, but when she met his gaze, she quickly looked away, her recently calmed emotions becoming agitated again—though for entirely different reasons.

Now that he was here, would he insist she keep the baby? This worry instantly filled her mind.

Her heart pounded. Scarlett instinctively pressed her hand to her chest, trying to regulate her breathing to calm herself.

"Jacob!"

Marco hadn't expected Sebastian either. He immediately rose from the sofa, arms open, walking toward Sebastian.

Sebastian was slightly out of breath. He turned his head to avoid Marco's embrace and walked directly to Scarlett.

He perched on the armrest beside her, placing his hand on her shoulder. Feeling her immediate tension, he looked at her, his voice calm despite his evident fatigue.

"It's alright. I'm here."

These words did nothing to relax Scarlett's rigid posture.

To her, Sebastian's sudden return could only mean one thing—he wanted to save the baby in her womb. The hand on her shoulder felt like proof of this.

"What's the situation?" Sebastian asked the doctor, his eyes darkening with a subtle coldness.

The doctor remained somewhat intimidated by Sebastian.

Nevertheless, considering his position, she took a deep breath and repeated what she had just explained.

"There are options, correct?" Sebastian asked with a slight frown, his gaze lowered in thought.

"Yes," the doctor nodded, seemingly understanding his intentions. She smiled and began, "We'll arrange as soon as possible..."

Before the doctor could detail her plan, Scarlett interrupted.

"I don't want to!"

Her voice cracked slightly from tension as she urgently expressed her feelings.

Everyone turned to look at her.

Sebastian's expression showed particular shock and sadness, though years of habit allowed him to quickly compose himself. Only his suddenly clenched fist betrayed his emotions.

"What?"

Marco pressed his lips together, his eyes wide as they darted between the couple.

The doctor hadn't anticipated this reaction from Scarlett. She wondered if her own words had frightened the young woman.

"Ms. Seymour! The situation isn't as dire as it seems. The impact is minor, and we can address it through some follow-up..."

Her reassurance was cut short by Scarlett again.

"No need. I don't want to have it." Scarlett pressed her lips together, hesitated, then unconsciously licked her lips as her fingers tightened slightly. "I want to terminate this pregnancy."

This development caught everyone by surprise.

The doctor had rarely seen a mother so determined to end a pregnancy.

"I don't agree."

Sebastian's voice followed immediately.

He lowered his gaze to Scarlett's tightened fingers, his tone softening slightly. "I don't agree."

Scarlett glared at him. "It's my body. I'm the one carrying this child. If I say I don't want it, then I don't!"

Sebastian's breath caught. He instinctively reached toward Scarlett, wanting to pull her into his arms.

But she immediately backed away, giving him no opportunity.

"Scarlett, this isn't just your child," Sebastian took a deep breath, his tone deepening as he reminded her.

He had intended to urge her to stay calm, but instead, his words became a trigger.

"Yes, of course it's not just my child," Scarlett said with a mocking smile, her eyes filled with contempt as she looked at Sebastian. "But it can't be three people's child either!"

This statement contained too much information.

The doctor didn't understand, but she could tell from Marco's expression that something explosive had just been revealed.

Sebastian had no time to explain to Marco. He simply looked at him and said calmly, "Uncle Marco, please step outside."

She stood up. "No, Marco can't leave!"

Sebastian observed Scarlett's suddenly anxious face, his eyes darkening, but he still gestured to Marco. "Uncle Marco, please step out. I need to speak with her privately."

Marco looked at Scarlett, and though he received her pleading glance, he could only shrug helplessly.

Outside, Finn had already entered with the security team.

Both the doctor and Marco were politely escorted out.

Soon, only Scarlett and Sebastian remained in the room.

Scarlett glanced at the closed door, then at Sebastian standing with his back to her. She pouted and sat down in the single armchair behind her.

Sebastian's heavy sigh came through clearly.

Scarlett looked up at Sebastian as he turned around. "What do you want to discuss?"

"Let's talk about the baby... and Adeline," Sebastian said, sitting on the sofa next to her. Seeing her move away as if avoiding him, his eyes darkened slightly.
