Let Me Go, Mr. Howard Chapter 107

It was probably anger that gave Scarlett courage, making her second response firmer.

Sebastian tilted her chin up and kissed her briefly. "Something came up. What kind of compensation do you want?"

At the mention of compensation, Scarlett remembered Chris's words.

A tingling sensation spread through her body. She took a small breath and said, "It's nothing, just about Mrs. Myers..."

"I'll apologize to her."

Compensation. Apology. Similar words, yet distinctly different. Scarlett didn't dwell on it, focusing instead on trying to resist Sebastian's kisses, but she couldn't. Even her hands were guided downward by his.

"You should have moved out a long time ago," Sebastian said with a satisfied chuckle.

Scarlett blushed, knowing exactly what he meant.

Since she'd moved into the Howard Manor, they'd had fewer intimate moments. Scarlett typically went straight from point A to point B, often driven by the manor's chauffeur.

Only when Sebastian picked her up did they have opportunities to fool around in the backseat. But car spaces were limiting and uncomfortable.

After a while, Scarlett found herself with an aching back, even deliberately avoiding Sebastian's rides just to get a break.

Feeling Sebastian's hardness pressed against her, Scarlett bit her lip and suggested shyly, "Let's go to the bedroom."

The couch was too restrictive; she wanted to lie down properly.

"So demanding," Sebastian murmured. Sweat dripped from his brow onto Scarlett's chest, disappearing almost instantly.

Nevertheless, he lifted her, supporting her legs.

The movement pushed him deeper, making Scarlett cry out in pain as the color drained from her flushed face.

Sebastian exhaled, adjusting his hold on her. "Hold on."

Without being told, Scarlett wrapped her arms around his neck. "You did that on purpose," she pouted, her voice and body soft with affection.

Sebastian licked his lips. "Did I?"

While he carried her to the bedroom, Scarlett couldn't help whimpering. The sensation was uncomfortable—her arms felt weak, yet letting go hurt. "Hurry," she urged.

Sebastian paused, then quickened his pace. When her back finally touched the soft mattress, Scarlett's expression relaxed.

But before she could rest, Sebastian's passionate assault continued. His intensity made Scarlett clutch his arm, wrinkling the expensive fabric of his shirt.

"Slow down..." she pleaded.

It was useless. Sebastian only teased her: "First you rush me, then you beg me to slow down. So demanding."

Scarlett felt her entire body burning, especially where they connected. She bit her lip, nearly in tears. Thankfully, she didn't cry.

When their passionate encounter ended, her head was spinning.

Scarlett rolled over, intending to shower. But he quickly grabbed her ankle and pulled her back. "Again."

Just hearing those words made Scarlett's back ache. "I'm tired."

"You don't have to do anything," Sebastian said, moving over her again.

Scarlett wanted to cry. When they finally finished the second round, she couldn't even move a finger. But moments later, she heard the sound of a wrapper tearing.

She opened her eyes, and though she couldn't see anything in the dark, her voice trembled, "Again?"

Sebastian didn't answer, just climbed back into bed. Scarlett used all her strength to kick at him, which only played into his hands. She flopped back in frustration.

But this time, Sebastian's phone rang. The sound came from the living room.

Scarlett pushed him. "Your phone."

Sebastian didn't move, just kissed her. "Focus."

Scarlett wanted to curse at him but feared making him angry. Instead, she whined, "It wouldn't hurt to check."

Whether annoyed by the ringing or swayed by her pleading, Sebastian got up and walked out.

The ringtone in the living room abruptly stopped.

Scarlett closed her eyes, planning to rest while she had the chance, but overheard Sebastian speaking softly.

"Don't worry, Addie. I'll be right there."

Addie. Clearly a girl's nickname. Scarlett's eyes flew open.

Sebastian had already returned, switched on the small lamp, and walked naked into the bathroom. His voice was suddenly calm. "I need to go out."

Scarlett slowly sat up in bed, watching him emerge from his quick shower.

"Take a shower. I won't be back tonight," Sebastian said, drying off and dressing without a robe.

Scarlett blinked, thinking about what she'd overheard, but remained silent.

Sebastian assumed she was just tired.

"Get some rest," he said, quickly leaving Scarlett alone in the room.

The passionate atmosphere lingered, though everything had gone quiet. Scarlett fell back onto the bed, too exhausted to even consider showering.

She'd never heard Sebastian mention this "Addie," nor had anyone around her ever mentioned a girl whose name started with "Ad."

Could he have another mistress? As soon as the thought emerged, Scarlett dismissed it.

That was impossible—Sebastian wasn't Orion. Though it was unkind to say, it was true. In Sovereign City, only Orion kept two girls at once.

She fell asleep with these thoughts.

The next morning, her body ached even worse. Scarlett carefully got up and dragged herself to shower.

Mark had indeed brought the car over yesterday. Driving after so long made Scarlett cautious, but nothing eventful happened.

Just as she stepped out of the elevator, she received a message from Sylvia.

[Scarlett! I finally found out why Bash didn't show up last night!]

The message clearly hinted at insider information. Unable to contain her curiosity, Scarlett replied: [Why?]

[Because Adeline Morgan is back! She's his first love! How could he possibly care about insignificant people like us?]

Reading those words, Scarlett felt her blood freeze.

At that moment, the small TV in the elevator was broadcasting news. It showed footage from the airport last night.

A tall man was escorting a woman out of the airport. When she turned to enter the car, half her face was visible—and she looked about 70% like Scarlett.

Scarlett felt dizzy, possibly from the thin air in the elevator.

The moment the doors opened, she rushed out, but the dizziness didn't subside—it intensified. Her thoughts were chaotic.

Scarlett couldn't identify her feelings and could barely support herself against the wall.

"Letty?" Someone called from behind. Then they steadied her. "What's wrong? Low blood sugar?"

The panic in their voice seemed genuine. Scarlett turned to see Ethan.

Surprised by her face, he reached up to wipe it. "Why are you crying?"

Hearing this, Scarlett touched her own face and indeed felt tears. She had just realized her own feelings, only to discover she was merely a replacement?

What kind of cruel joke was this?
