Werewolf
Lycan's Mate (His Claim) Chapter 10
Blake's POV
"Where is she?"
"She's here, mom."
Both my parents' eyes widened in shock as they began to sniff the air for any unfamiliar scent. I knew they probably smelled her on me, but it was faint since I never once got near her except for that first night.
"Where? I don't smell her."
I let out a heavy sigh as I shut my eyes. "She's not here here mom. She's at her house."
"Well, why isn't she here? She should at least meet her future in-laws." With those words, a smile crept along her full lips. I had no doubt she was already thinking of grandchildren running around our house. Great.
"She's not here because she doesn't know we exist." I made my way over to the island and leaned against it, burying my face in my hands as I felt all eyes on me.'
At the sound of her voice, I could hear the rest of the house quiet down as the other pack members listened in on our conversation. I sent a low growl around the house, knowing they would hear it and would leave the premises immediately. When I was sure that we were the only ones left, I turned back to my mother who stood there waiting with a frown on her face.
"What do you mean? Isn't she-?"
"It's Fiona Christopher!" I shouted out, only to be greeted by complete and utter silence. I cautiously lifted up my head and peered through my fingertips to see their expressions. My mother's was one of shock while my father's was hard to describe. He didn't dare show a single emotion on his face but his eyes said it all, no matter how hard he tried to hide it. Astonishment, disappointment, and happiness all swirled within the depths of his dark eyes; and I knew exactly why he felt that way.
"Fiona Christopher….you mean the human who moved here last week?" my father asked slowly, his voice expressionless.
I nodded my head, feeling a swirl of pride erupt inside of me at the sound of her name. My wolf immediately agreed and he showed me a picture of her in my mind. I guess he hadn't stopped thinking about her since we left her at her house.
"But she's…..human. How can you have a human mate, sweetheart?" My mother never even bothered to try to hide how stupefied she was.
I shrugged.
"I don't know. I really don't know."
My father sat on a stool across from me, deep in thought.
"But there has never been such a case. Humans have never been mated with a werewolf before. It's just not possible." He seemed to be talking to himself more than to everyone around him.
Silence erupted all around us as we didn't dare look at each other, not even Anthonio who still remained in the room. We were all caught up in our own thoughts and I was too busy listening to my wolf to pay attention to my parents in front of me.
'Even if they don't accept her, we will never reject her.'
'Then show them that.'
I shook my head, fully agreeing with him. 'She's our mate and their future Luna. I am not letting her go. I love her too much already.'
As my wolf became silent, I noticed my mother smile in front of me. She walked forward, placing a calming hand on my father's shoulder, immediately catching his attention.
"Well, if she's our son's mate….when can we meet her?"
I raised an eyebrow at her. Was she serious?
"Well, how are you going to do that?" The sound of her voice let me know that there was no turning back now. She wanted to meet the woman who will bear her grandchildren and there was nothing in this world that would stop her from getting what she wanted. She was quite a persistent woman if you asked me.
"Uh, mom, I can't really just bring her here without telling her what we are. We have to at least show her."
I stayed silent for a few short moments before responding,
"I don't know. I'll have to see."

"Well, get to it. I want to meet my daughter-in-law soon. I'm not a patient woman you know," she said, spinning around and exiting the kitchen.
"We know," we all muttered in unison. At the sound of our voices, she spun around and glared at us. We all gave her a mocking smile before we all burst out laughing. She let out a frustrated sigh before muttering to herself,
"how do I put up with these boys?"
When she was finally out of earshot, my father turned to me, all humor gone from his features.
"You sure you can handle this?"
I knew there was an underlying meaning to his words. I don't know, was I ready for what was to come for my mate and I?
'Yes, yes we are.'
With the reassurance of my wolf, I nodded confidently. She was my mate, and I wasn't giving up on her that easily. Human or not.
My wolf was a little too eager this morning as I made my way to school. He kept pacing back and forth inside me, begging for me to go faster in my mustang; and I understood perfectly why he felt that way. Although it had only been a few hours since we last saw her, he couldn't wait to see her again; and I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel the same way.
I pressed on the gas a little more as I sped down the narrow road that led to my school. My car moaned in agony, but didn't fight my command. It was an old mustang and although it had its faults and bumps here and there, I couldn't have asked for a better car. Even my father kept on insisting he'd buy me a new vehicle, but I always refused. This car and I had history together and I wasn't going to let it go just so I can get a brand new one. I feel like I'd be cheating if I did.
After a few minutes of driving and trying to calm my wolf down, I finally made it to school. I parked my car in its usual space and shut off the engine immediately. As usual, the second I stepped outside of my car, I was bombarded by a crowd of my pack members. It wasn't a surprise to see that most of the females that seemed to continuously overwhelm me with questions weren't in front of me this time.
'Because they already know.'
