Fiona's POV

The trees slowly started to diminish as the sound of water was heard from where I stood. I stopped, looking forward and peeping through a set of bushes that obscured my vision. Streams of light leaked through the leaves, practically begging for me to peer over them to discover what's on the other side. Marcus watched me with amusement as I slowly stepped forward, my footsteps cautious as the sound of water crashing against a solid surface grew more evident. Reaching the border of the trees, I pushed the bushes to the side and gasped at the sight in front of me

Before me was a large field filled with various flowers, making the ground look like a masterpiece on its own. In front of me stood a large waterfall as it crashed down to a small river below. It flowed with the current before disappearing somewhere to my left. Large rocks surrounded the edge of the river, their tops smooth enough to sit comfortably without any irritation. It was a small little paradise hidden within the forest and the view was stunning! My mouth dropped open in wonderment as I slowly made my way forward, my hands stretching out to gently touch the tips of the flowers. They swayed with the light wind that surrounded us, dancing around my legs in a rhythm I could not hear. I slowly made my way to the river, crouching down and reaching for the surface. The cool water grazed my fingertips, a shiver running along the length of my spine as the wind picked up speed. From where I stood, I could see a variety of small fish swimming happily beneath the surface. One swam towards my finger, kissing it before swimming away and disappearing near the waterfall. It didn't seem deep and the urge to dive in grew as I watched the water flow leisurely down the river. Looking up, I couldn't help but wonder where its origin began, but the sparkles that were emanated from the sunlight nearly blinded me, and yet they cascaded rainbows of color through the mist that escaped the waters. It was breathtaking and I couldn't help but stare in awe at this place. I wouldn't mind staying here for countless hours until the stars were gleaming above my head, a blanket of darkness slowly drifting me off to sleep as the flowers covered my body with their inner warmth.

I smiled at the picture that formed in my head, nearly forgetting that Marcus was standing a couple of yards away from me. Or so I thought. I turned to call out to him, only to discover that his presence was no longer with me. I craned my neck, trying to look over the bushes to see if he never actually stepped into the clearing, but my eyes were met with the darkness of the trees. I frowned, standing up from my position and calling out his name. I was met with complete and utter silence. Feeling myself begin to panic, I continued to call him, my pace quickening as I tried my best to prevent many flowers from dying beneath my weight. I stopped at the edge of the trees, looking in all directions frantically and never once seeing a figure moving between them.

He left me. That bastard left me

Suddenly my panic turned into anger in a heartbeat. How could Marcus do such a thing? He drags me all the way out here (which I have absolutely no clue where I am because I never bothered to see where he had parked the car and which direction we were heading) only to leave me completely alone and without anyone to guide me back to the pack house. What was he even thinking? I don't even have a GPS or anything! Wasn't he supposed to protect me at all times when Blake wasn't around? Because if that was his position as of right now in the pack, he was completely sucking at it

With a heavy sigh escaping my lips, I turned around and smiled at the scenery before me. Well, at least he didn't abandon me in the middle of an alleyway filled with disgusting old dumpsters filled to the brim with garbage that could nearly kill a man with its horrendous stench.

Taking a step forward, I made my way across the field of flowers before stopping right in the middle. Without hesitation, I carefully sat down on the soft grass. The flowers swayed with the wind, tickling my bare arms as I slowly laid down. My hair sprawled in all directions over my head as the sun's warmth spread across my body. Closing my eyes, I relished every sensation. The heat, the light breeze, the soft grass and pedals of each flower. I was completely at peace and I could ultimately feel the stress of the past few days dissipate. I didn't know exactly how stressed out I was until then. I seriously needed a spa day, but at least I got this for free! I have to remember to thank Marcus for taking me here when I get back. Well, if I get back

I don't know for how long I stayed there in the field of grass, sleep slowing inching its way into the back of my mind before the sound of rapid footsteps reached my ears. My eyes snapped open and I immediately sat upward, turning towards the forest to see a large, dark shadow quickly making its way through the trees. It seemed to charge through at a high speed, dodging each tree with ease before jumping over the set of bushes that concealed this paradise. My eyes widened as a large black wolf entered the clearing. Its heavy pants reached my ears as its dark eyes met my own. They seemed frantic and alert until its eyes settled on me. Immediately, I could see its eyes grow into dark pools of calmness as its body relaxed before my heavy gaze. It let out a puff of air before walking closer in my direction. I tilted my head in confusion before asking,

"Blake?"

I stood up immediately and made my way towards him. I stopped a few feet in front of him, crossing my arms as I stared at his wolf form.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were taking care of business with your dad." He let out a puff of air and made a small sound like if he was talking. I let out a soft sigh before saying,

"You want to change back so I can actually understand you?"

Blake rolled his eyes and turned back towards the trees, disappearing within seconds. It was only then that I realized that he had some form of clothing wrapped around his hind legs. Good thing he had that prepared or else I would've had to talk to him with a bush in between us. Now that would've been amusing yet....interesting. I couldn't help but blush at the thought. Control yourself Fiona!

Only a minute had passed before Blake reappeared in the clearing in his human form with a plain white shirt and light blue jeans. He was barefoot and his expression looked displeased for some reason

"What in the hell are you doing out here, Fiona? Alone?" His voice thundered through the trees, causing the forest to grow eerily quiet.

I shrugged my shoulders, looking down at the flowers that lied beneath my feet. "Just going out for a walk"

He let out a heartless laugh, running a hand through his dark locks.

"You decided to take a walk this far out in the territory without any supervision? Where the hell is Marcus?"

I looked up at him, anger rising within me.

"He was the one that brought me here. I was perfectly safe until I realized he had left me all alone. Why don't you ask him?" My voice grew louder with every word and it seemed to cause his anger to darken along with his eyes

"I did, and he said that he hadn't seen you all day. I had to leave what I was doing and track you all the way out here! Do you know how close to the border we are?" He exclaimed, pacing back and forth as his body shook with fury that coursed through his veins.
