Werewolf
Lycan's Mate (His Claim) Chapter 41
Blake's POV
"Well, you guys are here extremely early," Mr. Christopher stated with a bright smile that didn't seem to fade.
"The earlier, the better though." He turned around and called out to the house where I knew my mate was probably still changing. My wolf was begging me to step inside and go to her, but I don't think her father will be too pleased to see a young male enter his home without him being there to supervise. Not that it has stopped me before though
As if on cue, Fiona stepped outside with her backpack slung over her shoulder as she made her way down the porch steps. She was wearing a simple purple tank-top with faded jean shorts and her old converse that I had actually noticed she wore often. Nevertheless, she looked stunning. My wolf immediately calmed down at the sight of her, especially when she sent a bright smile our way which nearly made us weak in the knees. Yes, I may be future Alpha and a strong wolf, but this girl seemed to have an effect on me that was unlike any other.
She looked over at my father, Jonathan and Luke and smiled shyly. Her father wasn't looking and I noticed Jonathan and Luke bow respectfully her way. They may be older than she was, but she was still their future Luna and respect was something that werewolves honored. Well, except for rogues who couldn't care less about respect and honor
"Nice to see you again, Blake," her father said, snapping me out of the trance my mate seemed to have put me in. He reached out his hand and I immediately shook it, shaking it a little bit more forcefully than intended. I noticed the fear in his eyes and he involuntarily stepped back, his head bowing slightly before a confused expression laced his features. That mere expression reminded me of Fiona's when she had greeted my father the nighter the night before. It was amazing how much they looked alike, except for their eyes.
"It's nice to see you again, sir," I said with a bright smile that seemed to make him a little bit more uncomfortable. I would be lying if I wasn't doing this on purpose. I found it very amusing how humans seemed to react around us, especially me. Their expressions were priceless.
I looked over at my mate who was glaring up at me with her arms crossed over her chest. She looked so adorable that way. I simply gave her an innocent smile before winking at her, noticing how her cheeks turned a flaming red before I looked over at her father once more, my smile never fading
'Blake,' my father said in a warning tone inside my head
'Might be our next Alpha, but he still hasn't grown up,' I heard Luke's mocking tone say. I turned quickly around and glared at him before turning back to my mate's father who still seemed perplexed at the four huge werewolves in front of him. It was evident he could sense we were different, but he didn't dare comment on it
"So," my mate said slowly, making us all look at her.
"I guess we better get going then."
Without another word, she turned around and made her way to the passenger side of her father's truck. My wolf whined inside of me as he realized that we weren't going to be riding with our mate. I hated the fact that we wouldn't, but I didn't want to push our luck with her father after last night
We all followed suit with her, climbing into our vehicles and preparing ourselves for the long car ride to get to the cabin. I knew exactly where it was located, especially since that is where I had found her on my eighteenth birthday. The worst part was that we had to enter another territory to get there, but my father had informed their Alpha of our arrival and we were granted access to enter without conflict
My father put the car in reverse, waiting for my mate's father to exit the driveway before he followed close behind. I looked straight forward, meeting my mate's eyes in the side mirror. A tint of red flushed her cheeks and she smiled shyly at me. I gave her my signature smile which consisted of only one side of my lips rising. I had come to realize that whenever I did, I made her catch her breath and her heart beat would accelerate as if she had just ran a marathon . It was a reaction I enjoyed because I loved making her feel that way. And just like it had worked before, her cheeks brightened a shade and she turned away, facing forward. I let out a small chuckle and stared out at the forest before me. We were close to the border and we would be exiting our territory in a matter of minutes
I could hear howls in the distance, no doubt our pack bidding us safe travels. It was the first time both Alpha's had left at the same time. The only time we ever did was if we had a meeting with another Alpha. Other than that, whenever my father had to leave for important business, I was left the responsibility of watching over the pack. It wasn't that hard, but it was indeed stressful.
I looked out the window and noticed two familiar wolves trotting out of the forest with wide grins on their faces. I grinned in return to my friends before they went off patrolling the territory's borders. I had given them the duty since they were currently in charge. It was a great responsibility since there were news of rogues still surrounding the area. But I knew it wasn't something we couldn't handle.
Giving my territory one final look, I turned forward, a smile spreading across my face as I thought of spending the weekend with my mate
My father parked the Hummer behind the old truck before we all hopped out, grabbing our belongings and making our way inside the small cabin behind my mate and her father. It was quite small, but we had come prepared with a tent that would surely fit four large werewolves in their human forms
We placed our bags by the door and sat down in the small sofas that occupied the living room. My mate, giving me a quick glance, made her way upstairs where I knew her room would be. I had noticed from my last time here that there was only two rooms in the second floor, just like her home, so I had given my father a warning about it which is why our tent was tucked safely in the back of his Hummer
Her father stepped in front of us, passing his fingers through his hair nervously without looking at either of us.
"I do apologize for the lack of space here. Only Fiona and I have come here after her mother died."
My eyebrows pulled together in confusion at his words. Fiona had never told me about her mother. It was a subject we had never even talked about, to be honest. I had always wondered where her mother was, but I never bothered to ask
My father waved a hand dismissively in their air with a smile.
"It's alright, Raymond(Mr Christopher). We came prepared."
"Oh, that's good. So," he said, a smile returning on his features,
"Shall we get going then?"
The men stood up with a nod and made their way outside as I stayed seated in the plump couch.
I looked up at Mr. Christopher, who I just realized was named Raymond, and smiled. He had a troubled expression on his face and I instantly knew what he was thinking. Trust me, I would be thinking the same thing if my little girl was alone with a guy I barely knew. The mere thought of having little pups with my mate made my wolf jump with glee.
"Don't worry, sir," I said, trying my best to be reassuring to the man who was staring at me with wary eyes.
"I'll keep Fiona company while you guys have fun fishing. I don't want to leave her all alone in the cabin." It was the honest truth. The last thing I wanted was to leave my mate all alone in someone else's territory.
He stood there for a mere few seconds before giving me a brief nod and exiting out the door. When I was sure he was a good distance away from the cabin, I let out a sigh of relief and made my way upstairs to where my mate was
Her scent was intoxicating and my wolf was thrashing about inside of me, urging me to go faster so we can finally get to her. Even being away from her for a few minutes made us go insane and want to rush to her side. It was something that was normal for mates, and greatly intensified for Alphas. I had no idea how my father was coping without my mother at the moment
Noticing the door was slightly ajar, I made my way inside, freezing midway through the door as I took in my mate's appearance. She was wearing the same swimsuit she had on that day, and I found myself letting out a loud growl that shook the walls around us. She jumped at the sound and spun around, her cheeks flaming a scarlet red as she grabbed the towel that hung over a seat near her. She immediately covered herself, much to my disappointment.
