Fiona's POV

Ok, now I was really confused. My eyebrows pulled together as I simply stared at him, secretly wishing that he could just tell me already instead of giving me all of these riddles that I was seriously growing tired of.

I guess I can settle with that for the time being. Being satisfied (for now) with his answer, I turned towards my window and gazed out at the forest before me. Although they looked dark, I couldn't help but admire its unnatural beauty. It was quite hard to distinguish anything at the senseless speed he was driving in. I'm surprised he hadn't crashed yet. Darn it! There's no wood inside the car.

"How long until we get to….wherever the heck we're going?" I asked, not daring to look back into those mesmerizing eyes of his.

A soft smile spread across my lips as I shook my head. I never have been, and I never will. I hope he knows that.

He chuckled.

"Not the patient one, are we?"

"We better be," I muttered playfully.

"Don't worry princess, we're almost there."

"Oh? And if we're not?" He challenged, clear amusement laced in his words.

"Yes, I do believe I can, Mr. Popular," I said, facing him with a playful glare.

He laughed quietly beside me.

"You think you can actually threaten me like that?"

"You don't want to know."

He laughed once more, shaking his head without his eyes ever leaving the road. "You're adorable when you do that, kitten."

"I'm not a kitten!" I scoffed, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Compared to me, you are sweetheart." He was enjoying this way too much.

"And what are you, huh? The big bad wolf?"

He sat there without uttering a single word. I looked at him, my eyebrow rising slowly as I took in his appearance. His body had become tensed all of a sudden and his eyes were a darker shade of color as he stared harshly at the road in front of him. I was about to reach out to him before he responded with just a single word.

"Maybe."

I was about to fall asleep until I felt the car come to a complete halt below me. I sat upright, taking in my surroundings only to be left with more confusion in my mind. Why in the world are we in the middle of the woods?

I looked back, surprised that there seemed to be an opening in the woods that allowed a small car like his to easily pass through without any worry of it being scratched by any unwelcome branch hovering above.

"Come on, we're here."

Without giving me another glance, he exited the car. I sat there, frozen, taking in my surroundings and suddenly feeling my heartbeat rise slightly. It was beating rapidly against my chest now and I had to take deep breaths in order to calm myself. Why was I acting this way?

I jumped at the sound of Blake opening the car door beside me. I looked up at him to see a warm smile spread across his lips. He held his hand out to me, motioning for me to take it. I stared down at it, my eyebrows pulling together before I grabbed it. The same sparking sensation rushed through my body and I trembled in response. I had never felt this kind of thing before, and yet I felt I would never get tired of experiencing it with the young man standing before me. I noticed his body tense slightly at my touch before he pulled me up against him. Before I knew it, my body was flushed against his with a secure arm wrapped around my waist. I heard the door close behind me, but I paid it no mind as I noticed his eyes shift from a darker shade and back to its original color. I couldn't help but be hypnotized by the sight, slowly pulling myself harder against him.

He leaned forward, pushing my hair back behind my ear and cupping my cheek with his large hand. He kissed my forehead, a set of sparks igniting within me and causing me to nearly fall down to my knees. Lucky for me, he was still holding me up so I had no problem in standing upright.

Before I knew it, I was left standing on my own with a coldness sweeping all over my body the second his touch left my own. I looked up at him, noticing his body was tense once more before he began to walk away from me. I didn't need for him to let me know that he wanted me to follow, so I urged my legs to move forward. I ran a hand through my hair, a sigh escaping my lips as I focused on the small sound from the leaves crunching beneath my feet.

I took this opportunity to observe the forest for the first time. Its tall trees seemed to reach up to the sky without an end and a single care in the world. All the leaves had already fallen, and they were now spread across the floor in a hue of red, orange, yellow, and brown. The sight of them made me feel warm inside. It wasn't the same type of warmth I seemed to feel whenever I was near Marcus, but it was still nice nonetheless.

We traveled for quite some time before he stopped abruptly in front of me. I was in my own little world so I found myself colliding against his large frame and falling onto the ground below. Lucky for me the leaves broke my fall and it was like falling into a cushion of pillows; only that these pillows made a weird crunching sound instead.

He turned around and offered me a hand to take.

"Sorry. Should've warned you."

"That would've been nice," I muttered, grabbing his hand and pulling myself up to my feet. I dusted the leaves and dirt off my jeans before looking back at him. "So what is it that you want to show me?"

He looked out at the trees around us, a heavy sigh escaping his lips as he ran his hand through his dark locks. Man he looked sexy doing that. Keep it together Fiona!

"Can you promise me something first?"

I tilted my head in question but answered either way,

"Sure. What is it?"

He took a deep breath before he asked, "Can you promise me that no matter what I show you here today, you will still give me a chance?"

The look on his face nearly broke my heart into a million pieces. I could tell that he was trying his very best to hide any emotion that he was currently feeling with little success. His face was filled with pain as he said those words, like if he was afraid that I may not accept him after he showed me whatever he was going to show me right now. As if he feared the fact that he might lose me the second I discovered his hidden secret. Would I walk away without looking back after I discovered it?

I gave him a reassuring smile.

"I'm here, aren't I?"

He smiled in return before walking away. I was about to follow him until his voice stopped me.

"Stay right here. I'll be right back." He paused, looking back at me with a playful smirk on his lips.

"Don't go anywhere."

I rolled my eyes. This kid was definitely something.

"Wouldn't dream of it."

He shook his head, the smirk still staying in place as he made his way behind a set of trees, completely disappearing. I tried to find any sort of sign of him moving about through the trees, but there was absolutely none. It was as if he had completely vanished into thin air. Would he actually just leave me out in the open like this? I don't even know how the hell we got here in the first place. I was too distracted by the trees to memorize the way to our destination. Great, I'm going to die here.

I paced back and forth, trying my best to be as patient as I could be as I kicked a few leaves here and there to preoccupy myself. I stared down at my watch, realizing that he had already been gone for several minutes and there was still absolutely no sign of him anywhere. I was starting to get worried. Maybe something might have happened to him and I was just standing here like an idiot without doing anything about it. I should've gone after him the second he left just to make sure he was ok. Man, I'm such an idiot!

I jogged towards the place where I had last seen him, frantically looking in all directions to find any sign of movement. I made my way through the trees the best I could without tripping over my own two feet. I called out his name a few times, the nervousness that had been creeping up inside of me the second I noticed the time heightening to the extremes right now.

I stopped suddenly, feeling a pair of eyes on me. I looked in all the directions, trying to spot anything that seemed out of the ordinary until I saw slight movement from the corner of my eye. I spun around, my breath hitching at my throat as I noticed it.

It stood tall a few feet in front of me, its eyes the same dark shade of color as its gaze never left my own. It took one step towards me, dropping its head lower so its eyes were leveled with mine. Surprisingly enough, I didn't dare move. My once rapid beating heart was now beating at its usual rhythm with ease. I no longer felt dread as the animal approached me. Instead, I found myself making my way towards it with slow strides.

I reached out my hand as I approached, relieved to find that the animal held no fear in its eyes. Ha. Shouldn't I be the one scared? Only me.

It bowed its head towards me before my hand connected to its fur. The overwhelming sensation rushed through my body once more, and I blinked in confusion. Wait a minute, there was something oddly familiar about this. The sensation was almost recognizable and yet I couldn't put my finger on it.

My fingers traced through its fur, reaching out my other hand and placing it on either side of its head. A soft growl escaped its lips as it closed its eyes and leaned its head against the palm of my hand. It took a step towards me and placed its large head against my chest, sitting on its hind legs as soft growls emanated from its throat.

After a while, it lifted its head away from my chest and stared deeply into my eyes. Its dark brown eyes were filled with so much emotion that it was difficult to keep track of what it was feeling at the moment. I tilted my head as I analyzed its dark orbs. Why do they look so familiar? It's like I have seen them before; and not just because this wolf has appeared in many places out of random. It's like I have seen them in someone. Someone who seemed to cause some irrational feelings to take over me with just one look, one touch. Someone who seemed to constantly haunt my mind every hour of the day with no end. Someone who….

My eyes widened in surprise as I took a step back. It can't be. It just can't be. This only happens in fictional books that authors create. There's no way that a person can actually have this sort of ability. It just can't be.

"Blake?"
