Fiona's POV

A slow smile began to creep along his lips as he took small steps towards me. "This has everything to do with you, love." He paused, crouching down mere inches in front of me as he stared deeply into my horror-filled eyes.

"My first intention after discovering Blake had finally found his mate was to kill her and make him experience the same agony I had to endure alone. It would've been so easy after I saw that you were a mere human. But the realization of who you were, I admit, sort of sidetracked me.

"How so?" I whispered, somehow finding the courage to speak in front of this mad man

"Like I said, you reminded me so much of her. The mere sight of you brought me on edge. But seeing as you were human, I thought my plans couldn't have been made any easier. Killing you would've been quite simple, as a matter of fact. It wouldn't have been as amusing as I thought it would be, but it would bring my plans to action.

"Then why not kill me now? Why not get it over with now that you have me as your prisoner?

He shook his head, leaning in closer and grazing his fingertips along the side of my right cheek.

"Because then I wouldn't have any fun, now would I? Killing you would've corrupted Blake immediately, especially after spending some quality time with you. But my brother, unfortunately, and I must admit, is a strong werewolf. I know he would've carried on easily and would've still found another suitor for himself. And seeing as he is much stronger than I, challenging him or overthrowing him wouldn't have been very ideal for me.

"That's obvious," I muttered, looking away only to regret my words a second later.A loud growl thundered through the walls before his hand collided with the side of my cheek, making me gasp in horror as I took in the situation. I stared at him with wide eyes, not comprehending what had just happened until the stinging sensation that was now growing immensely on my left cheek clarified that he had just slapped me.

"Watch your words, love. I don't believe that you want to anger an Alpha wolf."

"But you are not Alpha anymore. You have no mate to rule alongside you," I said, my voice coming out breathless.

"Not yet, that is."

His now dark eyes glistened under the little light provided by the candles around the room. He slowly stood up, his eyes locked with my own as he took a few steps back, reaching behind to his back pocket and clasping onto an object I was unable to see. Without removing his right hand from behind his back, he walked behind me, a low chuckle escaping his thin lips.

"I may not have a mate, but I do have a suitable Luna to rule alongside me. There's just one thing standing in my way from getting to her."

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion until his words slowly sunk in.

"Blake," I gasped, his face appearing in my mind and my heart clenching at the thought of Malcolm ending his life once and for all.

"That's right, love. And if I'm not mistaken, he should be figuring out that you are gone by now. Either way, I do sincerely apologize beforehand for what I must do. I would very much like to stir his wolf up a bit and there is only one way that could be done."

Before I could question his words, a surge of pain, unlike any other, coursed through my left side, making me cry out in pain. I could feel something oozing out of my left side, making me stare down at the now opened wound. The cut was deep and was causing me so much pain that I wasn't sure how I was baring it at the moment.

"H-h-how could you?" I spattered, flinching as I tried to move my hands, only to have another swarm of pain envelope my body as the chains touched my now opened skin on each wrist.

"I'm sorry, love. I truly am. But I must cause something to make your mate go mad."

I breathed in heavily, wincing with every breath I took as the blood continued to course out of me. I knew I was losing a lot of blood, but I had to keep my head held high as I faced the monster that now stood before me with a tight smile on his lips.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked, my voice breathless once more.

"Seeing that you two are mates, there is no doubt in my mind that he is now feeling the pain. I must create something to make him come after you. What better way to end my brother's life than to have him come right to me?"

"No!" I cried out, only to regret my action of moving forward as the freshly made wound stung with every movement I made.

"You can't do that. He's your own brother!"

"Do you really believe he gives a crap about family? If he was truly my 'brother', he wouldn't have gladly taken the Alpha title so quickly."

"Maybe you weren't meant to become Alpha. Maybe this is what fate wanted," I pleaded, trying my best to buy some time for Blake to come and find me.

He chuckled, twirling the small knife he had cut me with in his hands as he stared down at me.

"There's always a way to mess with fate. But no worries, you won't miss him for long."

"Why not?" I asked, gritting my teeth as another wave of pain took over my left side.

He leaned forward, placing the knife exactly on my right side of my neck as he whispered in my left ear,

"Because I'll take good care of my Luna."

Another gasp escaped my lips as the knife cut my skin once more. It wasn't enough to bring the same amount of pain I was currently feeling on my torso, but it was enough to make me cry out. I leaned away from him, throwing daggers in his direction. How can a man be so cruel?

"What makes you believe that I would easily become your Luna?"

Without hesitation, he pointed the knife at my throat, pushing it slightly against my skin where I could feel another cut opening in that very spot. I pulled back as much as I could, trying my best to avoid the knife from piercing through my skin once more. But the more I pulled back, the more he inched forward and remained the endpoint of the knife pressed against my skin.

"I wouldn't want my new Luna taking her place with so many bloody scars and bruises. But I have a way of convincing you otherwise."

At that moment, the door swung open to reveal a young man about the same age as Maxwell. He had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes to match. If his eyes were originally that color was beyond me because the intensity of his gaze led me to know that his wolf was close to the surface. I cringed back under his heavy gaze, looking back at Maxwell with fear filled eyes.

"What are you doing?"

He smirked at me before making his way to the man standing in the doorway with hungry eyes.

"Making sure you know what happens when you disobey your Alpha. Mark here will make sure you see it firsthand." He patted Mark's shoulder with a sinister smile before turning back to me.

"I would do it myself, but I seem to have a little Alpha problem outside. Seems like your little mate has just arrived."

As he said those words, thunderous growls and snarls entered the room, making me more attentive to my surroundings. There was one growl in particular that made my hairs stand on end, and in a good way. I had no idea how I knew it was him, but my heart fluttered at the mere sound of his ferocious growls. By the sounds of them, he was extremely angry.

As if catching my new sense of hope, Maxwell growled at me before making his way towards where I still sat.

"Enjoy that sensation while it lasts, because you won't be hearing your mate's precious growls any longer."

My eyes opened in horror and I was about to scream out before the door closed shut behind Mark and Maxwell exited the room. I looked up at him, taking in his appearance before my eyes landed on his own. They were pitch black and his pupils weren't even visible. His wolf was fully in control and the sound of his voice clarified that for me.

"Well, this should be tons of fun." As he said those words, he pulled out the same knife that Maxwell had not too long ago. I hadn't noticed their little exchange earlier and I was surprised to see it clutched so tightly in his hand.

"Stay away from me, rogue," I hissed, cringing slightly as the pain continued to course through me, but I paid little to no attention to it as I stared down at the disgusting werewolf standing in fHe chuckled at my response, taking a step closer to me while bringing the knife high into the air.

"Sorry sweetheart, Alpha's orders."

Without a second thought, the knife pierced through the air, my horrified scream echoing through the closed room as the knife collided with my bare skin once more.
