Werewolf
Lycan's Mate (His Claim) Chapter 40
Blake's POV
I felt a tugging at the back of my mind, jerking me awake and sitting up in one swift movement. I had nearly forgotten where I was until I felt someone stir beside me. A low groan was heard, and my eyes immediately snapped to the beautiful girl laying down beside me. A smile spread across my lips as I laid back down, shifting her body until she was flushed against mine. She didn't wake, but a small smile spread across her delicious lips as she snuggled in closer to me
I stared at her for a few moments before I felt something tug at the back of my mind once more. I hadn't realized that I had put my walls up so no one else in the pack could contact me. And based on the force that was pounding against my skull, I had no doubt it was my father. Alphas had more power when it came to a pack's mind link. They can literally contact anyone they wish in the pack, and the person couldn't resist but to reply. Even me
Letting down my walls, I winced at the sudden loud voices echoing in my head. I guess I had accidentally exposed my mind to everyone else's without thinking. Ignoring the other voices who immediately greeted me after they felt my presence in their mind, I shut them out without a word and focused on my father's calm tone. It was nice to hear that it wasn't some sort of rogue problem again. I didn't need for my mate to get hurt as badly as last time
'That won't happen again,' my wolf reassured me and I simply nodded in response
'Yes, father?'
'I just wanted to remind you of the fishing trip with your mate and her father. I don't want him waking up and finding you there.'
I looked over my mate and peered at the clock near her computer desk. I let out a soft sigh as I realized it was already 6:30 and she should be waking up around this time. Sending my father a final message, I slowly slipped away from my mate, smiling as her lips turned into a pout. I kissed them gently, her lips immediately responding to mine and her eyes opening slightly. I smiled down at her, kneeling against the bed as I stroked my fingers across her soft cheeks
"Morning, beautiful," I whispered, hearing something stir in the other room across the hall. Dammit.
"Good morning," she said sleepily, stretching her body along the length of the bed before allowing it to relax beneath my touch. She stayed there, staring at me for a few seconds before her eyes widened and her head snapped to the clock.
"Sh*t!"
I shook my head, smiling at her reaction. "Now, now, watch your language missy. It's not very ladylike to speak that way," I said, wagging my finger playfully at her.1
She rolled her eyes, pushing herself up to a sitting position.
"Who says I'm ladylike? And besides, I can say whatever I want," she said, standing up and making her way over to the bathroom without looking back at me.
A low chuckle escaped my lips as I dashed to where she stood and picked her up easily in my arms. Her eyes widened in surprise and I couldn't help but lay a quick kiss on her lips at her expression.
"What was that, beautiful? I don't think you want another episode of last night, now do you?"
Her head tilted to the side in a cute manner before her eyes widened some more and she shook her head violently, her small body trying its best to get away from me but my firm grip held her in place. A sly smile spread across my lips as my fingers dug onto her sides and she instinctively grabbed them before I could go any further.
"Blake, don't you dare," she said with narrowed eyes. The way her tone threatened me had to be the cutest thing I have ever heard. She was such a small thing compared to me and yet she had the guts to do so. My wolf purred in appreciation at our mate's courage.
"What's the magic word?" I teased, my smile broadening.
She rolled her eyes, letting out a soft sigh before they met mine.
"Sorry," she muttered
"What was that, princess?
"Okay, fine. I'm sorry.
"That's my girl." I leaned in and kissed her passionately, receiving a small moan from her which caused my wolf to stir inside me. But I immediately broke the kiss, not wanting to go any further like we had done so last night. We had nearly marked her without her permission and I had completely lost control of my wolf. I seriously need to be more careful around my mate
The sound of footsteps caught my attention and in one swift movement I had placed her back on the ground and dashed through the bathroom door, closing it silently behind me the second her bedroom door clicked open. Man you've gotta love a werewolf's reflexes
I leaned against the sink, allowing my wolf to step forward to listen in on the conversation taking place outside
"Morning, dad. You're up early."
"Morning, kiddo."
"You know I always am for our fishing trips."
I could literally feel my mate roll her eyes without having to see her do so.
"You and your fish."
"Hey, we can't all be vegetarians like you, Fiona," her father said playfully. There was a moment of silence before his voice broke the silent atmosphere around them.
"Is your boyfriend coming?"
"Yeah. So is his dad."
"Dad!" My mate shrilled, no doubt blushing at the moment. I loved how easily she could blush without us even trying. I planned on making her do so for as long as I lived.
"He's not my boyfriend!" A frown formed across my lips at her words.
"Sure he's not. So, is he coming?"
"Great! You can phone them to tell them to be here no later than 7:30."
"Okay."
I heard his footsteps step out of the room and the door close shut behind him. I waited for his footsteps to disappear down the stairs before I opened the bathroom door wide and stared down at my blushing mate. I instantly smiled at her reaction, leaning against the door frame and making sure I was flexing my muscles to give her a good view of what she's got
"So, I'm not your boyfriend?" I asked, faking innocence as I stared down at her. She spun around, her hazel eyes meeting mine before I saw them trace down the length of my body. Her eyes lingered across my chest and arms a little longer than expected.
"You like what you see?"
Her eyes immediately snapped to mine and her cheeks reddened a darker shade. She looked down, embarrassed I had caught her staring before she made her way around me and into the bathroom. "I've seen better," she stated, never once meeting my gaze.
My wolf growled inside me at her words and I found myself closing the door behind me and grabbing her small form. I turned her around and positioned her between the door and myself, pressing my body against hers. Her eyes stared up at me in shock, but I could see a hint of amusement swimming in their depths. She knew exactly what she was doing to me, but my wolf wasn't liking our mate even thinking about other guys
"You are mine," I growled, my wolf fighting to gain control and mark our mate, not allowing any other male to come near her. But I knew now was not the right time.
"And I am the only man who you can ever look at that way."
A smile crept along her lips as she placed both arms around my neck, pulling my face close to hers. Her actions caught my wolf and I by surprise, making him step back and simply wait for what she was going to do next
"There's no need to be jealous, Blake. You're the only man who has ever laid eyes on me and who has ever looked at me in that manner. I can promise you that."
She tilted her head as she gazed up at me in bewilderment.
"What do you mean?"
A low growl escaped my chest.
"If you only knew, Fiona" .
I shook my head, staring back into her beautiful green eyes.
"It doesn't matter. You're mine." I slammed my lips against hers, pulling her closer and loving the way her body fit perfectly against mine. She was made for us, and I sure as hell wasn't going to let her go anytime soon
Her lips immediately responded to mine, parting themselves and allowing me entrance to savor her delicious taste. She pulled at my hair, making me growl in pleasure and pull her up to the sink. She let out a small yelp of surprise, but never once broke her lips from mine. My hands traced down to her hips, enjoying how she shivered under my touch. Before things could get out of hand, I pulled away, leaning my body against the sink and staring at her with hungry eyes. My wolf was driving me crazy, but I tried my best to ignore him. He is such an animal.
"You should start getting ready," I whispered, my voice coming out breathless
She nodded, running a hand through her hair before hopping off of the counter. I didn't dare move, hating the fact that I needed to leave my mate now. I wanted to spend every waking moment with her, but I knew it'd be best for me to leave before her father decided to intrude
"And you should leave before my dad finds you," she said quietly with sad eyes
I nodded, kissing her lips tenderly before opening the door and stepping out.
"See you later, beautiful." Without looking back, I opened the window and jumped out, racing into the woods before her father noticed I was outside. Taking my shorts off in one swift movement, I shifted into my wolf form, heading back to the pack house to get ready to spend the rest of the weekend with Fiona. My wolf howled with joy as we dodged each tree, not wasting any more valuable time away from our mate.
It had felt like forever since I had last seen Fiona, but it had only been about thirty minutes. My father must have sensed my wolf pacing anxiously inside me because he had decided to leave earlier than we had originally planned. Even though he and I are both strong wolves, my mother had insisted we take two of our best warriors, one including our current Beta who so happens to be Anthonio's father. His name is Jonathan and he looks like an older version of Anthonio, just like my dad does when it comes to me. The other warrior my dad had decided to tag along with us as well was my father's third in command, whose name is Luke. And you guessed it, he's Marcus's father. There's a reason why we are all best friends.
My father had decided to take his favorite Hummer (yes, he has more than one) for the fishing trip. My mother had provided us with some food and supplies before we left, and we were now sitting comfortably in the seats with me in front. My father had insisted I start using this car for when I became Alpha, but I had immediately refused. Unlike me who likes small, simple, and older cars, my father is obsessed with large, high tech ones. He may be getting old, but he never fails to keep up with today's technology
He sped down my mate's road and parked behind her father's truck. With the switch of his key, the car grew silent and I didn't hesitate to hop out of the car and go near the house. The second my feet landed on the dirt below, I heard the front door open and out emerged my mate's father with a bright smile on his face as his eyes met my father's. He reached out his hand and shook it, peering over my father's shoulders and looking at Jonathan and Luke who stood close behind their Alpha. Even though they are indeed my father's best friends, they knew that their reason for being on this trip was actually to protect my father and I, even if we could handle anyone ourselves Which explains the serious expressions plastered on their faces and how their arms were crossed over their chests, making them look more intimidating than they actually were. I've known these guys since the day I was born and they have grown to be one of my closest family members since both my father and mother so happened to be the only child in both their families.
